Aaron was bored. He hadn't done anything fun or spontaneous recently as his friends were either busy or coupled up, something that Aaron just did not understand. His best friend, Lucas, had been spending all his free time with Merrill and Aaron deeply missed their misdeeds and pranks, even Lizzie seemed to be a bit distant these days and he couldn't figure out why. With thoughts of distant friends in his mind he sat down, underneath the tree with the biggest branches and began tugging at the grass around him.

Kaia rather enjoyed being outdoors, it helped her to relax most days when she needed to be away from other people and away from her books. The girl wandered through the lawn, not expecting many students to be out here considering exams were coming up really soon. But she tried not to think about that as it would urge her to go back and continue to study until she was done, even when she didn't exactly want to do so right now. Kaia stopped in her tracks as she realised she wasn't the only one there. Shrugging, she went on, without looking where she was going and before she knew what was happening she felt herself tripping over a branch she hadn't seen was there before. Kaia grunted as she moved to get up from the floor however her eyes met the feet of someone around her age. She looked up, noticing how vaguely familiar the guy looked. The brunette shook her head, finally getting up and mumbling a quick apology before turning around to leave to find a quieter place, as more students seemed to have joined the two when Kaia arrived.

Aaron was abruptly brought out of his thoughts when he heard a thud on the floor in front of him and it was a girl who had tripped over and Aaron immediately stood up to help the girl but she didn't need his help. She murmured something very quickly and Aaron caught the word sorry but she began to walk away before he could say anything to her. He decided to follow the girl to make sure that she was okay "Hey!" he called after her. Aaron jogged to keep up with the girl who had sped off "are you okay? That seemed like a nasty fall. Do you want me to take you to hospital wing or anything?" he asked her with his voice full of concern. He recognised the girl from some of his classes and wanted to make sure that she was okay.

<COLOR color="black">Kaia hadn't been expecting the boy she'd embarrassed herself in front of to follow her afterwards, normally the girl would just smile and walk away like nothing had happened but clearly not this time. Although his intentions were far from what she'd originally thought, Kaia was suspicious of most people she didn't know.
"Hello," she replied, sending the boy in her year a small smile. "Don't worry about it, I'm okay, everything's good. You're in Gryffindor right?" She wanted to remember his name but unfortunately that did not seem like it was going to happen. Maybe he'll say it before she had to ask. After all they had been in some of the same classes since first year, and the Ravenclaw kind of felt guilty for not even remembering his name of all things.

Aaron frowned "Okay, well only if you're sure!" he insisted. "Yeah I'm in Gryffindor. My name is Aaron, Aaron Walden" he replied, nodding "I'm pretty sure you're a Ravenclaw aren't you?" he asked in return. "Are you heading back to the castle?" he asked the girl "I'll come with if you like" he offered while holding out his hand in case she needed someone to lean on after her fall.

Kaia smiled a little as the boy didn't seem to believe her that she was perfectly fine. Well, she was alive. "Yeah." He mentioned his name afterwards, to Kaia's relief and she got his house correct. "Nice to meet you Aaron, I'm Kaia," she told him. He also told her his surname and the Ravenclaw had to hide her surprise, he was the brother of her cousin's best friend. That was interesting. "I'm a Ravenclaw," she nodded, confirming what he'd asked her. At his next question, the brunette nodded again, figuring that if there wasn't much to do outside she might as well head black up to the castle. "Um, yes. Thank you," she said politely, smiling at him as he offered his hand and took it gratefully. As much as she hated to admit it, her fall hadn't been that soft of a fall. "So," she tried to continue the conversation as they walked. "It's kind of weird that after three years we've only just spoken." It was the truth. Kaia had no idea how she hadn't yet come across Aaron. Sure she'd seen most people in her year, but they had been at Hogwarts for a while now.
