Rosalind liked her costume. It was a switch up from last year, that was for sure, but that could only be a good thing. Too much of the same and it got boring, as much as Rosalind had enjoyed looking pretty. But now she had managed to do some impressive face make up (which admittedly she'd been practicing for months) and was on the prowl. Mostly for snacks, but she wouldn't mind dancing a bit later. Rosalind hummed softly to herself as she poured out some punch, taking the risk that no one had messed with it. She hadn't spotted anyone she knew yet but she'd arrived somewhat early, so there was always a chance someone would show up. Rosalind took a sip and the punch seemed to be fine so there was that in her favour. She eyed the dance floor, contemplating just going to dance after finishing her drink. It'd make a funny image - a tiger girl dancing. She smiled at the idea.

((sorry in advance))

With his bruises and aches from Quidditch training, Ignatius felt more like a war veteran than an actual soldier. His costume was perhaps a little too muggle for his liking, but soldiers were still pretty cool. Each Quidditch training felt like his personal war, and Ignatius was perhaps fighting a losing battle. But he refused to give in, and he marched around the Halloween Feast like he owned the place.

Okay, march was a bit strong - he limped around the feast.

He noticed a girl in full tiger makeup - a girl from his classes, if he squinted at her. (He did have to squint a lot lately). Rose, or something? "You're looking very...festive," he said in a somewhat sulky manner. Which, unfortunately, was just the way that he talked.

Rosalind blinked, looking at the boy who had approached her. Why did he look so worn out? Was it committment to his costume? "Well, thanks," she said slowly, taking his appearance in and not taking his tone too seriously. "You look a bit...well, you look like you've actually seen war. Are you a good actor or did something happen?" Rosalind looked at him a bit concerned.

Well, of course he was a good actor, Ignatius thought, his ego swelling a bit at the mere suggestion. Unfortunately, he wasn't really acting (nor was he that good of an actor, really). He actually thought the tiger costume was nice, and the makeup was impressive, but he didn't know how to say such a thing. Or thought it might be a little pathetic if he did. "It's nothing," he started, before shaking his head. "It's Quidditch training. It's horrible." He thought he ought to have his parents complain about the poor captaincy. But his parents had been a bit weird of late. He supposed he ought to just try and find some allies instead. "Do you...like tigers or something?"

"Quidditch training?" Rosalind repeated, a little loudly with her eyes wide in surprise. "Wow. My cousin does quidditch and she never looks quite like you do." Rosalind had a small feeling maybe she shouldn't have said that, but she always did have trouble not being honest. Rosalind's face settled back to a neutral smile at his question. "Oh, I don't know, I guess so? I kind of just decided tiger face painting would be a good challenge. And...to be honest, I'd been trying to do a lion to be more on theme and it wasn't really working," Rosalind admitted.
