Hattie wasn't sure why she signed up for the blind dating again this year, especially after what happened last year. It was embarrassing to her that she hadn't had a boyfriend yet and she really hoped that this time around could be better. The teen wasn't really sure how to make an effort with herself as she never really went out to any formal occasions. The only time she had gone out to a formal occasion was the previous year's Yule Ball and she wasn't just going to wear the same dress again. She decided to try a skirt this time with a blouse and cardigan over the top. She wasn't sure how many other people would be wearing a skirt, but it wasn't pants and that was a good start. With her hair tied neatly behind her, she waited for her blind date in the Entrance Hall. She had never met this person before and she just hoped with all of her heart that this would be a better night for her as she stood and watched everyone start filing into the Great Hall for the event.

Ryan had some fun last year, so he hoped it would be the same this year. Especially that he was now free and open to new relationships, and it could be forgotten sooner. He didn't linger too long, but quickly found the blue suit and shirt in the chest, then went down the stairs to the Great Hall. Going down the stairs, Ryan went to the side of the Great Hall, but stops at the door as he noticed the girl and decided to come in and ask if she was his partner tonight. ''Hey! Sorry to disturb you. Are you Hattie Thorne?'' He asked to be absolutely sure he wasn't wrong. If the girl is not what he thought and does not expect someone else.

Hattie knew that she was nervous. It was always nerve wracking meeting new people and she couldn't help but feel her hands shake beside her as she waited for him. She wondered if perhaps he stood her up as it slowly seemed like everyone had made it into the Great Hall. Soon enough, Hattie became distracted by a boy that asked her if her name was Hattie Thorne. "Yes, that's me!" she said, smiling up at him. "I guess you're my date then right?" Hattie didn't see any other reason why someone would be asking for her. She recognised him from classes, and so it definitely made sense.

Ryan hoped he wasn't really wrong. Great Hall sounded cheerful music that could go inside and enjoy the ball. He looked at the girl he had addressed and soon received an answer. "Nice to meet you, Hattie," he said, smiling at the girl. ''Yes I am. My name is Ryan Williams. Let's go inside the Great Hall?'' He asked, because he couldn't enjoy the ball while standing at the door.

"It's nice to meet you too!" Hattie exclaimed as he introduced himself as Ryan Williams. She was glad that now she was able to put a name to the face. As he then asked her if they should go into the great Hall, Hattie hesitated a little bit as she wasn't sure whether or not to take his hand or arm as they walked inside. She decided against it however as he didn't seem to want to do anything of the sort, and so she just nodded and began walking towards the double doors that led into the hall. The party was already well underway and there were lots of people talking and dancing. She scanned the room to try to find a familiar face or anyone else that was also on a blind date, but she couldn't find anything of the sort. She figured that soon enough they would appear as she turned to her date. "Did you want to grab a drink first?" she asked as it was the first thing that came to her mind.
