Gee, that sure would suck having to depend on your older brother to get you educational things so that you don't bore yourself to death. I couldn't imagine how much you're suffering, you being a Ravenclaw and all! I'm just joking, but really! ; )
I've never heard of that book...it sounds interesting though!

Well, I need to know really whatever there is to know! I haven't got a clue about any of it.

I forgot to tell you! We watched Star Wars in Astronomy, it was really interesting...even though the projector we were viewing it on was really old. So things seemed a bit messed up in the movie and I think it skipped a bit.

Thanks for the pep Kaela. I'll try extra hard for you this year. : )

Here is some info on ellipitcal galaxies I found in one of my da’s books:

“Elliptical galaxies take their name from their shape, which can range from a flattened ellipse to something spherical in shape.  They contain mostly older stars and there is minimal star formation in them, which gives them a yellow or red color, as opposed to the bluish color that dominates spiral galaxies like our own.

It is thought that elliptical galaxies are mostly formed by the collisions of spiral galaxies, such as the collision of the Andromeda galaxy with our own in four to five billion years.”

I hope that helps.  I know it’s only a small snippet, but at least it’s something, right!

You watched Star Wars in Astronomy?!  I can't believe I missed something like that.  Did you like it?  Star Wars is one of my favorite movies!  But, you probably know that.

Yes, I was put into Ravenclaw for a reason.  I'm losing my mind with nothing to do.  But I talked with Headmistress Barker and it's official, I'm coming back!  I get to come back second term and I'll be a third year like you.  Isn't that exciting?!  I know I'm excited.  My da approved and all.  He said I can still visit you over winter break and then just go with you back to Hogwarts.

Hogwarts had the Halloween feast like every year, I didn't attend though. Is it strange that I've never actually celebrated Halloween, I don't think I even know how to. Wow, that makes me feel dumb to even write.

How have you been Kaela? It's been a few days since I've heard from you last, I hope everything with you is going well.

Greetings from Hogwarts! Sorry it has taken me ages to reply back to your last letter, I have been trying really hard to catch up with all of my schoolwork. I think I'm halfway there, or closer, I'm hoping!

I'm looking forward to you coming back, that's going to be awesome! A lot has changed around here, so it might take some getting used to; but I'll help you out. : ) It will be nice having someone to help me with homework, I'm not sure what classes we'll be taking together, but it will be cool either way. Are you still going to taking the same electives as before?

Like I said before, things here have been pretty crazy with me trying to catch up. The quidditch teams are still getting squared away and I haven't really heard from anybody for a while; this semester I was pretty unsocial...I don't know what it was...

Now it's even less days than before, since it's been a while since my last letter to you! Sorry again about that!

Wow, it has been a while!  I was starting to think you had forgotten about me.  You know, you would have a lot more free time if you didn't leave all your school work to the last minute!

I'm definitely looking forward to me coming back too!  Being home is really weird.  I feel bad leaving Finn with Da, but I know Finn can handle it.  And Da was always supportive of me going to Hogwarts.  I just really feel like there's nothing here for me anymore.  I love my family, but I have no friends here and I'm just so bored.  I can't wait to get back there and see you and everyone else!

You've been unsocial?  Kale Thomas I can't believe you!  You definitely don't seem like someone who would be unsocial.  I mean, yes, you should be doing your work and all, but you shouldn't be ignoring your friends either Mister.  I demand that you go out and have some fun.  Maybe go hit bludgers with Bruin or something.  Don't you guys do stuff together in the Brotherhood or whatever?

Wow, it's been a while since the last time I wrote back to you...again. I'm sorry for being a crappy pen pal or whatever people call them. Soon you'll be back and we won't have to write eachother, you'll be here. AND break is coming up, which means you'll be able to get sick of seeing me everyday! Well, I hope not. Haha

Yeah, we still have The Brotherhood...it's just sort of dead this year. Again. I think we need more guys first, since it's only me, Bruin and Ford currently involved in the club. We're more like 'The Three Amigos' then a brotherhood...and I haven't hung out much with Bruin, he seems pretty busy with his Gryffindor team..I NEED SOME QUIDDITCH TIME!

Anyways, I'm writing you right now to let you know that I'll ne leaving home for break about a day earlier than originally planeed, since I'm not planning on attending the yule ball or any other festivities. Everyone going to be pretty busy and I'd rather get home before all of the craziness on campus. If you wanted you're invited to come even earlier if you want, even if it is just a day.

I'd be more than happy to arrive at your house the same day you do.  Finn has offered to drive me.  He insists on meeting you for some bizarre reason.  I can't talk him out of it, so, that's the way it has to be.  Stupid Finn.

Anyway, I can't wait to hear back from you!  I sure hope you didn't write because you were so busy getting caught up in all your classes.

Kaela had to admit she had her reasons for asking Kale about the Yule Ball. She was extremely anxious to see how he responded, hoping with all of her might that his answer would be a good one.

Kale ripped open Kaela's letter, happy that she was always so quick with her responses. When he read about her question about the yule ball, he thought of what to say to not give himself away completely. He liked Kaela, a lot. But he definitely didn't want to confess it through a letter. Kale bit on the tip of his quill, trying to think of the right way to word his excuse, since she was the true reason on him not having any interest in the ball; he would have asked her if she was at Hogwarts already.

That was sort of my delay for not writing so quickly. I got all caught up in the Care of Magical Creatures homework...but that's about it. I'm still trying to catch up though. I don't want to fail.

Oh, not liking to dance isn't my reason; everyone knows I'm a maniac on the dance floor! I don't want to go to the ball because I'm not really interested in taking anyone from school. Out of everyone theres not much to choose from.

Hmmm...hopefully your brother doesn't give me a black eye like Estrella's cousin did. Haha

Estrella's cousin gave you a black eye?!  That's kind of crazy.  Why on earth would he punch you?  I doubt Finn will punch you.  He never hurt Ford when he was here, he just threw him dirty looks.  And I mean it's not like he has a reason to hurt you, right?

So, there's no one at school who interests you?  Courtney's pretty cute.  Or Sophia, she's pretty.  Is she still dating Ford?  Or what about that Katalina girl in Gryffindor?  Or Lily Potter?  There's so many choices for you!  Girls outnumber boys by a lot.

Well, I guess it's worth not hearing from you if you're going to pass.  I'd rather not see you failing because you're so busy writing to me, I dunno that I'd ever forgive myself.

Sure, they're all those girls are pretty, but I don't like any of them in that way. Courtney and Lily are sort of like sisters to me, it would be weird. And not to sound like rude or anything, but I've never had a thing for Gryffindor girls. Does that make me picky?

From as far as I know, Ford and Sophia are still going out. I've never thought as Sophia was pretty. To be honest, she's pretty intense and sort of scares me.

This past summer?  Kale, did you get hit on the head or do you just not have a good memory for time?  I didn't come back to school after last summer silly, I came home to Ireland 2nd term last year and have been here ever since.  It's been dreadfully boring, remember?

Honestly, at times I really don't know why I got sorted into Slytherin. I'm not going to lie, I can have a really bad attitude and at times I can be a little punk, for the most part I think I got in because I like power and will do anything to get what I want, not in some kind of crazy way or anything though. I guess you've just never seen that side of me before, which is sort of a good thing. Yes, Slytherin was my first choice, but in the beginning it was only because my father was a snake too. Ma was in Ravenclaw. Was Ravenclaw the house of your choice or were you hoping for different?

Don't say that! I lost track of time. It actually seemed like longer. I still find it funny that we've talked more through letters than we did when you attended Hogwarts. I'm excited to see you too. Break seems like it can't get here fast enough. Exams are going to suck, I don't think I am going to do too hot. Oh your ma was in Ravenclaw?  That makes me feel a little better about associating with a snake such as yourself.    I'd say what you want has a factor in where you end up.  Yes, I wanted Ravenclaw.  I had read a bit about the houses before I came and didn't really see myself fitting in anywhere else.  It's worked out pretty well for me so far.

I was just teasing Kale, I don't think you could really forget about me.  It is a bit weird that we talk more now than we did at school together.  Guess it helps that we don't have our friends surrounding us and our houses keeping us apart.  Not that it's wrong for us to be friends, but it's more difficult to be close when you're in different houses I think.

Just a week!  Well, a little less if you skip the Yule Ball.  I can't wait!

Well thats cool to know that you've found other ways to keep yourself entertained, I bet it could get pretty boring over there! I haven't been able to read any good books lately since Brightstone Villiage is now closed to students, it sucks. I actually miss working, I haven't been to work since before Estrella and I broke up. So I don't know how that is going to work out for us working together..I didn't think about that until right now strangely.

Okay, that seemed like the best time to some anyway! I'm looking forward to seeing you. I'll send you directions in my next letter.

Hmmm...that's a good question. I haven't planned that far! It might be too cold to go in the lake that is nearby. Bring your broom there is a clearing behind my house that we can practice in! You'll learn their names, it shouldn't be too difficult...plus I don't think my older brothers will be staying the whole time, they may be staying at a friends place. They're very rambunctious, I don't want them to scare you! Is there anything that you would like to do during the stay? We'll figure stuff out once you get there!

Well, Flourish and Blotts is kind of big right?  Maybe you two won’t run into each other.  Maybe you’ll be working different days, and if you have to work the same days you’ll be in a different part of the store, away from her.  I mean, I’m sure eventually things will calm down between you two, right?  She can’t be mad at you forever.  Maybe she just needs a new guy.

Directions would be good, since you know Finn is a muggle and will be driving me via car.  Can you get to your place by car?  Courtney left me some Floo Powder, but I don’t think Finn would be comfortable using it.

Yeah, it’s probably too cold for swimming.  Besides, swimming isn’t my favorite idea anyway.  I’ll definitely be bringing my broom, along with everything else I have to take to school.  It’s been forever since I’ve flown though, so don’t make fun of me!

I’m up for just about anything I guess.  It’ll be nice just to hang out with people who aren’t Finn or my da.
