James waited for his owl to come back from Erica, she had mentioned wanting him to deliver something for her but he didn't know exactly what it was. Finally he saw in the sunlight a small barn owl that belonged to the school flying towards him. It carried two letters, one he noticed as he took it from the owl was adressed to him. The other was adressed to Andromeda Fiorelli. James was a bit puzzled by the letter as he opened the one for him. The writing was a bit scribbled but still surprisingly neat and legible that was definately in Erica's nature.

To James
James,

It's been a long time, sorry been busy at the prophet trying to get some leads.
Something's not right in New Zealand and I'm going to get to the bottom of it.
Chloe's still in her coma but a few people have begun to awaken which I believe means that the caster is dead and that the spell is weakening.
That's where Fiorelli comes into mind, I'm doing some background checking into her family and into her step fathers mysterious death and I was wondering if you could help me out. I can't question her directly but I'm hoping you can find out some things for me and write back. Also could you please make sure she get's my letter, Thanks a bunch!

I'll keep you informed.

Erica,

P.S. Canons lost their match pretty badly last week, sorry!

James felt a bit uneasy at this as he looked at the letter for Andromeda. Wondering what to do about all this.[/color]

Andromeda still didn't go up to the owlery even after all this time, she loved animals too much and couldn't bear to get the owls all in a dither because they could sense what she was. Usually she just went as far as the last possible step she knew wouldn't set them off and whistled to make sure no-one was about before summoning one of the school owls. Her old owl Freckles had been put to pasture, enjoying his retirement at Essie's with abandon.
She was just finished class and had left Zuka to be with Brian so that she could run off and post a letter to her mother. Ever since her step-father's demise their relationship was blossoming once more, Andy was confident that some day they would actually be friends and not just mother and daughter. They were no longer estranged from one another though and that was a good thing. She was dying to know how her new siblings were doing, not seeing them as half anything at all. She was the big sister and would look out for Luthor, Maya and Micah with everything she had.
She yanked off her bag as she got to the step and putting two fingers into her mouth, she whistled good and loud to see if there was anyone up in the owlery.

James looked at his letter once more feeling the grim over his shoulders. He'd been friendly with Erica and it'd only been in recent years that he'd been talking to her on occasion as he was more friends with his fellow Gryffindor Ravyn. Erica had been more then helpfull however ensuring that the prophet stayed away from him and his sister while they attended school and he knew they would've had a field day considering his background. James couldn't help but wonder if maybe she planned something like this when she first helped him but quickly removed the thought from his head. Erica had been very close with Chloe and he knew that it was Chloe she was trying to help, For almost three years now Chloe had been trapped in a coma and at last it seemed as if an awakening might be possible. James heard a whistling and turned to see who it was.

James was sure he had a grim over him now as he looked down and saw Andromeda Fiorelli, he wondered if perhaps she had been tipped off about the letter. James looked down at the letter adressed to her and knew that it was a moment of truth. "Oy Fiorelli, I have something for you" James said as he headed down with the letter in both of his hands, his letter was tucked inside his back pocket. James was a bit curious as to what Andromeda's letter might say but also dreaded what Erica may have written, she tended to be a bit rash when it came to gathering facts and could sometimes forget tact. "It's a letter adressed to you, an owl brought it to me" James said conceiling part of the truth. James handed her the letter as it seemed to be written scribbly like his.

TO Andromeda Fiorelli

I know about your father's murder along with your uncle and step father. I would like to meet you in Obsiodian Harbor as soon as possible along with your stepfather's Elf to discuss it further. I don't believe you had anything to do with it, don't trust your mother!

I hope to see you there and solve your families tragedies.

Erica Matthews

James couldn't help but feel a bit nervous about the situation.

Andy waited another moment and just as she was about to summon an owl, out came JP from the owlery. Her face showed surprise at first but she quickly masked it with a smile.
"Hey you" she flounded when he told her he had a letter for her and wondered why any correspondence she had would send something through James. He came towards her with a letter in his hands and passed it to her. She wasn't sure if she should open it there infront of him or not but she didn't recognise the writing and perhaps if she did open it now, he could shed some light on why it had been delivered to him and not to her directly.

Andy thanked him and taking a step downwards, forgetting all about her own letter to her mother, opened up the one now in her hand. She read the short missive and reread it. Turning to James with a look bordering on perplexed, petrified and sadness she held up the letter to him.
"Is this some sort of a joke? My father wasn't murdered, he was killed by a freak accident at the ... the Leaky Cauldron. Some fire or something. My uncle and step-father?" she really didn't give two figs about her step-father but her uncle? murdered? Esmerelda had been keeping the finer details from her god-daughter in the hopes of sparing her anymore pain, now it would seem that this had all been in vain.

"Who is this woman James? What in the name of all that is magical is going on here?" her voice faltered, it had said not to believe her mother. That her father and uncle had been murdered. Andy felt the tears well up and wanted nothing more than to punch something or someone. Why couldn't anything just go right, for 5 minutes of her life?

James looked at Andromeda and felt a sudden wave of guilt. Erica had surely said something that had upset her and James knew that no matter how well meaning she was probably trying to be, he just couldn't be on her side. "Her name is Erica Matthews, an investigative reporter for the Daily Prophet" James said thinking about how she had been helping him. James pulled out his letter and handed it too her, "Chloe was our friend" James said hoping that Andromeda would understand. "Three years ago she was attacked and ever since she's been in a coma, Erica took it hard and began doing research on the Death Eaters, somehow it must've lead her to your family" James explained though not quite sure how he could effectively do it so that Andromeda might understand that Erica wasn't a bad person just a dedicated one.

"She doesn't play tricks, whatever she wrote is serious and she probably believes will help bring Chloe back and help you understand some of things going on around you" James said remebering the part in his letter that spoke about her step father's mysterious death. James found himself intrigued by the peice of information Erica had somehow managed to scrape up, "She's trustworthy but can get a bit carried away when it comes to finding out the truth, If your going to have anything to do with her then I advise you to be carefull about what you say" James said a bit surprised that he was talking about his friend as if she were an enemy. James wondered if Ravyn knew anything about this and what her thoughts might be.

Andromeda took the other letter that JP gave her and slumped down on to the step to read it. A tear trickled down her face as she listened to him talk about this woman Erica. An investigative journalist? It was times like this that Andy wished she were still friends with Brian, he would know without a doubt how to handle this type of situation and give her the strength she needed to see it through.
"Does she want you to interrogate me or something?" she passed his letter back to him, "Death Eaters! My father was most definitely not a death eater and neither was my uncle. My step-father on the other hand could have been evil incarnate for all I know and care. If someone murdered him then I'm sure they had good reason too".

She was angry and hurting and knew she was saying all the wrong things but somehow didn't care. Where was a Ravenclaw to tell her to shut up when you needed one? Andy crumpled up her own letter and clasping it in her hands looked out over the school.
"I've just begun speaking with my mother again for the first time in months and this woman... wants me not to trust her? I take pretty much what my mom says with a pinch of salt nowadays but I would rather believe my own mother than a nosey news reporter".

James felt that tearing feeling in his heart again. A true Blue Ravenclaw Erica was always trying to find out the answers to the questions that burned in her heart. "Erica's not stupid if she doesn't want you to trust your mother then I'm sure there's a reason to it" James said feeling as if he was torn in the middle "I don't know anything about your family, honestly" James said looking her in the eye "All I know is I have a friend lying in a coma for the past three years and another friend that hasn't slept a day without wishing she was in her place, If she says she know's something about your family what harm could it be to check it out?" James said thinking about what was best for the two of them. "Worse comes to worse, she tells you something and you don't believe her" James explained with a slight shrug.

"Otherwise just throw away the letter and forget everything, knowing that you might just be closing the truth and allowing evil to continue on" James said realising that he was probably saying something bad about her mother. Erica had said not to trust her... did she think that perhaps Andromeda's mother was a death eater? "Anyways, I did what I was suppose to do" James said with a slight shrug though feeling the guilt tug at his heart. "It's up to you now what you do, though if it were me I'd be curious as to what was going on and finding out who's lying to me" James said as he looked her in the eye "because someone's lying to you, and making you look like a fool" James said in all seriousness.

Andy listened to him again and suddenly she was on her feet glaring at him.
"I am not a fool and no body has made me look like one James Potter" she intoned his surname purposefully, she knew she shouldn't hurt the messenger but seriously did the boy not know when to shut up.
"Oh, I'll hear what she has to say about my family. I won't be going alone either because if anyone knows anything then my godmother does and if she has kept things from me then I'm sure she's had a very good reason as to why." she pushed the letter back at him.
"You can write to your friend and tell her I will meet her at the next Brightstone weekend but I will not be alone and if that doesn't suit her then tough. She can not go around slandering my family and expect me to sit and take it, I don't care who's sick or not".

She turned around and began marching her way back down the steps of the owlery, her own letter to her mother was still tucked away deep inside. There was no way she was posting it now until she had sent one to Esmerelda first. She wanted answers and she knew from this one woman above all others she would get them.
