Xiuying had only been in Hogwarts for a few days, and so far it had been interesting. The castle was a lot bigger than she had expected. She saw the quidditch pitch a few times, as well as doing a few exploring moments. But today, the girl had decided that she was going to take a different approach in her day. The young Ravenclaw had brought her favourite football to Hogwarts. Hoping that maybe she could add a football game or two into it. Though she had some doubts that anyone was going to join her anyways. Xiuying walked onto The Great Lawn, football in hand. She placed ball onto the ground and started dabbling the ball for a bit, back and fourth a small park of the Great Lawn.

Oliver was excited but a little overwhelmed at the scope of everything around him. He felt that almost all the guys in his room were constantly playing music and Oli didn't really know what to do about that seeing as he hadn't packed a piano with him nor did he particularly like the piano much to his parents dismay. Needing to escape the room for a little bit he decided to go for a walk along the castle grounds when he saw someone playing with a soccer ball. The boy loved the sport so he observed from a safe distance for a little trying to decide if he should go up to her or not and ask if she wanted to play a little one on one. Oliver knew on one hand she might want to play with someone but she might also want to be alone and he didn't want to annoy someone so he couldn't decide what to do as he continued to watch. He almost wished he had brought his ball from home but he had assumed that it would be a popular enough sport here that there would be people playing games on the quad. He almost stepped forward to talk to her for a moment but instead settled back and said nothing, feeling embarrassed for wanting to interject and equally embarrassed for also not doing so.

Xiuying had been playing for a while, and out of the corner of her eye, she had noticed someone standing afar. She looked up, but the person standing afar didn't look familiar to her. It had looked like he had wanted to join, so the girl had decided to gently kick the ball towards him. "You wanna play?" Xiuying asked him. Hogwarts had been a little boring without her siblings, and she had missed them a little bit. It wasn't the same. Maybe hanging out with people could help. But the girl wasn't so sure.

Oliver smiled when he saw the ball roll towards him, it had seemed intentional and this made the boy pleased. He liked when the decisions were made for him because he could have stayed watching forever uncertain as to whether he should approach to offer a one on one game with the girl. He dribbled the ball between his feet quickly while moving forward and asked, "Sure what are the goal posts gonna be?" He was by no means an expert at the game or any such thing he just really loved soccer and played it as much as he could so he had been in a lot of hours into some skills. He was trying to learn a few more trick shots on his own time now that he was at Hogwarts and could play without his mom questioning him about it.

Xiuying smiled as the boy agreed to play with her. "Okay, cool!" Xiuying says excitedly with a smile. She was glad that there was at least someone who would like to play with her. The girl thought for a moment, as she looked around the great lawn for good goal posts. "Maybe between those two trees over there," Xiuying says, as she pointed towards the two trees which had enough space for the ball to go through. Xiuying then looked towards the other said, "... And maybe that bench over there?" Xiuying asks as she points to the bench on the other side of the great lawn. "Unless you have any other ideas?" Xiuying asked the boy, who was dribbling the ball.

Oliver grinned - he was thrilled to meet someone else who liked soccer. He followed her gaze as she pointed out some goal posts and nodded his head in agreement. He was glad that she was the one to make those choices because he could never have been so quick about it. “That’s great,” Oli said. He was clearly on the side that would be defending the bench from where they stood and she was the trees. He only hoped no other student wanted to sit there or that might get them into a little bit of trouble. With that agreed the boy began moving towards her goal posts of the two trees trying to make sure he was running fast and not giving himself space for the ball to be taken from him but he wasn’t going to beat himself up if it did happen.

Xiuying smiles as the boy agree with where the goals were. Proud of herself that she got to make those decisions. The Ravenclaw watches as the boy started making his way to a goal. Xiuying runs along with him, trying to take the ball away from him, but also trying to block the goal so he wouldn't make a score. She was about to take the ball away from him until it was too late. The ball had gone through her legs and had made it just through the two trees. "Damn," Xiuying says quietly, hands on her hips as she slightly tries to catch her breath, watching the ball from the distance. The girl was competitive, which meant she was disappointed if she didn't win or get a point, but Xiuying was defiantly not going to admit it.
