Ares was sat at the Gryffindor table, excited for his evening meal before they were able to go up to bed. In fact it was probably his favourite time of day. It was the small burgers that called to him most, quickly placing four on his plate before any of the younger kids got their grubby mitts on them. He'd settled in, taking the biggest one in both hands before going for the first bite.
Anyone who was looking at him may have thought someone had left a old sock inside the burger bun. Ares' face immediately creased, and slowly he leant forward to let the congealed food in his mouth drop straight back onto the plate. He started coughing, as though the taste had him in the back of throat with intense aggression. Placing his burger back on his plate, he knew he needed to warn his housemates, too. "Don't eat the burgers, it's not cooked properly," apparently the elves didn't know how to do basic cooking, and yet they were in charge of an entire school's worth of dietary requirements? "I assume the elves were using this as a cooking experiment rather than the real food."
