A collision with beauty.

The fourth week of term one would shortly be upon him. Nothing too drastic had happened over the very short time Ruki had been back at the Hogwarts castle. A place he was quickly coming to love. News wise, a few people had the odd story about what was happening in their lives; family things mostly. Even Patricia was having a falling out with her farther. The very man who happened to be the Herbology professor. Ruki could only guess it happened to everyone though. He certainly knew how bad everything could become between parents and their children. Deciding to allow his friend a day or two to clear her head, the young wizard had opted to devote a day to the Brother-hood. With his lack of activity the previous year, he promised himself to try a bit more. And time away from the girls himself wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Heading down the flights of stairs two at a time, the Gryffindor wizard made his way to the ground floor; passing from floor to floor, and the library he had barely ever entered, as he did.

A Ravenclaw to the very core with a little bit of Hufflepuff on the side. That was definitely Lola. The fourth year was always either in her studies or she had her nose stuck in a book of some sorts. It was the way she'd always been even from a small age...she just loved to read, but that didn't come without it's consequences. With her constant state of scholastic perseverance Lola left many other things to fall to the back burner, such as her social life. It really wasn't that she wanted to be a loner because she didn't, but being painfully shy and easily overlooked on many occasions just made that her lot in life and for now she was okay with that.

True to form the Ravenclaw was been in the library studying, but as usual she had finished up her homework as well as the entire weeks reading so she was now left with nothing else to do. Packing up her books Lola flung her pack over her shoulder and grabbed her newest used novel off the table before starting out of the library, but she didn't make it very far. The fourth year crashed into something solid sending her falling flat to her bum with a thud. "Yeow," she exclaimed with a flinch before looking up to see just what she'd crashed into.

See that? She collided with beauty; and fell on her bum. xD

Not paying attention to his surroundings, which was often a regular thing for the transfer student, Ruki half walked; and half ran along the corridor with nothing on his mind. That was, until he felt a great thump against him. Jumping sharply, the ex-Durmstrang moved automatically for his wand; which he now always tucked into his bag strap; or, if he hadn't a need for his bag, slid up his sleeve. Turning to expect a burly student whom, for some reason, had an issue with him, the now Gryffindor student was surprised by what he saw next. A flurry of brown hair was tumbling away from him with a cry.

Taking a second to realise what had happened, Ruki instantly relaxed; and knelt to the floor. "Please accept my apologies. I was un-aware of my surroundings.". Even if he was dis-associating himself from his parents, Ruki would always be the polite gentleman they brought him up to be. "Let me help you up?". Noticing a book in the girls hand, Ruki quickly scanned the floor for any she may have dropped; but nothing seemed to be around. Smiling softly, the young wizard offered his own hand to the girl. It would likely take her a moment to realise herself what had happened.

LMFAO...she sure did =))

Please just let him walk away...please just let him walk away the fourth year thought to herself as she closed her eye willing the boy to be gone, but when she opened her eyes she found that he was kneeling down beside her. "Oi vey, no I'm the one that should be apologizing. I was reading and walking at the same time. Little did I know that could have lead to some sort of nasty collision," Lola rambled before snapping her lips shut. Talking aimlessly was a habit she had when she found herself in awkward situations or when she became overly shy, which was a good majority of the time.

Cheeks flushing bright pink, Lola took the boys offered hand lightly and let him help her up. She dusted herself off and sighed heavily as she looked at the older boy who she was pretty sure played quidditch with her cousin. "I would tell you I'm normally not this clumsy, but that would be a lie and I try to be honest most of the time," she stated with a lame chuckle. Shaking her head she was about to turn and leave before she caused herself any further humiliation, but for some reason her feet stayed planted. Holding out her hand she said, "I'm Lola. Thanks for helping me up." There she'd made yet another introduction to someone that she didn't know...she was stepping out of her comfort zone. The Ravenclaw smiled her usual toothy grin and her brown eyes glistened with anticipation as she waited to see how this would go.

As he knelt beside the girl, words seemed to pour from her mouth. One of the differences here to being an ordinary child growing up around those of the upper class, was the female's tendency to talk more. A few years before, and certainly during the summers, that Ruki had begun to study at Durmstrang, he would often find himself at an evening ball; or a private dinner, where the females had the simple task of smiling politely. He much preferred it this way. Pushing against his legs, Ruki rose to his feet; bringing the fellow student up with him. He wasn't certain, but she looked to be blushing slightly.

As she patted herself down, Ruki caught the sound of a sigh. Many people seemed to be feeling rather down lately, and he certainly wouldn't hold the accident against her. Before he was able to ask if she was okay, the girl spoke to him once more. The sixth year smiled politely at her words. It would seem at first glance she had the makings of a true lady. Smiling again, Ruki responded to her display of honesty; "Being of a clumsy nature shouldn't be seen as a problem. You just have far more interesting items on your mind.". The same could have been said about himself whilst he was on his way to the Brother-hood's private room. Now, however; the very thought had been pushed in to non-existence.

Spotting the girl's out-stretched hand, Ruki graciously took it in his own; and followed her introduction. Something else which was different out-side of his father's beliefs. "Lola. It is a pleasure to meet you.". Releasing her hand, he continued; "Do not worry about it. It was the least I could do. I am Rukevra; but feel free to call me Ruki.". The shortened version used to be reserved for those people he held close to him, but ever since his parent's secrets had been forced upon him; the young wizard used it to distance himself further from what they where.

"Chronic clumsiness could be seen as a problem, but you learn to live with it and laugh at yourself. I blame it on genetics because Kat, my cousin, has to be one of the clumsiest people I've ever met. And her sister is almost as bad, but not really. You know Kat right? Don't you play for Gryffindor too," Lola stopped short realizing she was doing it again and she flinched. "Sorry...I talk a lot when I get nervous and I do mean a lot. I don't really know why, but I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with the fact that I don't do very well in social situations and...and it seems I'm doing right now so, urm, yeah." Lola stared off at the ceiling praying that the boy wouldn't think she was some sort of socially awkward freak or something.

She smiled graciously as the boy introduced himself. "Nice to meet you Ruki. That's an odd name," she started before realizing that what she had just said could have been taken as being rude so she went in for the save, "I mean not odd in a bad way. It's actually a really awesome name...I'm sure some people think that Lola is an odd name which I guess in retrospect it probably is a slightly odd name." For about the fourth time during this interaction she clamped her lips shut and just gently shook her head. "Sorry...rambling again. I should probably leave you to what you were doing before I bamboozled you or before I give you a headache from having to listen to all this nonsense," Lola started and then said, "It was nice to meet you Ruki." Lola re-situated her bag on her shoulder thinking You are seriously going to have to work on your people skills before you end up spending your remaining three years here completely isolated.

Oh wow. xD

As if it was completely un-controllable, the girl began a discussion around how clumsy she felt she was. Not a person to ever ignore another, Ruki happily listened to each word as it left her lips. The young wizard couldn't help but laugh. There had been nothing about this in his divination lessons. With her ability to talk with-out much breath, it was amazing how she hadn't learnt to do well socially. It would be difficult for Ruki to understand though, since he is fairly confident in interacting with others. Seeing her gaze up-wards, the young wizard assumed she was feeling slightly nervous about the whole ordeal. Not wishing to add any awkward silences to the conversation, Ruki chose to answer her questions one at a time. "You're doing rather well so far.", he smiled. A little confidence boost of her own wouldn't hurt. "Your cousin is Miss Vanderhol? I indeed know her; and I do play for the team. Although, I do not know why.". Ruki let out a small laugh. Last years season had been a poor début for him at the school.

Not being fully aware of any disorder relating to clumsiness, Ruki decided not to pursue the subject any further. The last thing he wanted was to cause the girl to hate him moments after they had just met. Smiling as she commented about his name, Ruki nodded his head; about to agree with her, when she once again set off on another explanation. He had to hand it to her. Not many other people had been this interesting since he had arrived at the school. Shaking his own head as she apologised for talking, Ruki attempted to reassure her he was okay with it. "No; I don't mind. I would say Lola was more acceptable than Rukevra; at least for those out-side of Eastern Europe.". In truth, Ruki had no idea where he had been born; but his name certainly was unique.

With the girl now possibly feeling wholly embarrassed with herself, it was no surprise that she wished to hurry away as quick as she could. "I wasn't really doing anything today. It made for a rather nice change, and non of it is nonsense.", the young wizard smiled. She seemed to be someone with a lot to say, but no-one to say it to. "It was nice to meet you too, Lola; and I don't mind listening if you ever wish to practice socialising.", Ruki laughed. Even though he hadn't felt down himself, the young boy's day had considerably brightened over the past few minutes.

Sorry been in a bit of an RP funk for the last few days so that's why I'm just now getting to this :jesse:

For the first time since literally running into Ruki the Ravenclaw breathed a long sigh of relief. She hadn't completely run him off which Lola was thankful for and who knew...maybe they could even be friends. Merlin knew the fourth year could use a few friends around here. "Thanks. That means a lot, and I might just take you up on that sometime too. As you can see I need all the practice I can get," Lola said with a gracious smile to the older Gryffindor and then added, "And I promise to watch where I'm walking more closely from now on." With a shy little laugh and a wave she turned and headed from the library feeling that things were definitely starting to look up for her.

Always happy to meet someone new within the school, Ruki smiled once more as the girl he had collided with eventually seemed to relax slightly. Listening to her speak, the Gryffindor was pleased she would consider his offer. She was a sweet girl, and would benefit greatly from interacting a little more. He knew himself the more people he met, the better his own future would be. With Lola's final words, Ruki laughed with her; before giving a small wave as he watched her walk from the library. Maybe he would have to try running down corridors more often if he could run in to people as nice as her.
