Jaken was walking out of the greenhouses, after speaking with his father. He couldn't believe it. Veylo passed away in August. However, he had been expecting that for years now. However, what he wasn't expecting was his mother to suddenly die. Jaken had been pretty close to his mother, before she left for Germany. Kaleb would be out of the greenhouses soon. He wasn't doing too well with the news either. The boy needed his father, whereas Jaken needed a walk out in the cool air. However, instead of doing him any good, he was running...running from the facts. And soon, it will catch up with him. And he had yet to really truly accept the fact that his mother was...gone.
It hit him, like a bludger.
Jaken knelt to the ground, his hair curtaining his face. He didn't care that he was receiving grass stains on his jeans. His breathing became harsh and unsteady. One of his hands that was on the grass curled into a fist, and his other hand that was on his leg also formed into a fist. He would never see her again. He would never read another letter. He didn't have a mother anymore. The pain was killing him, and he felt physically ill. But as the oldest, he knew his mother more, but then again, he had to be a role model for his sister and brother. Thing is, he couldn't be there for his sister. Chavdar had her... Despite that, Jaken had to be there for Kaleb. Jaken opened his eyes, and fought all he could to hold back the tears. Though he couldn't stand up, or else he really would be sick.
