Open Creatures of the Deep

It had been a while since Kahurangi had organised a group costume with another professor, and she was quite enjoying the experience. It was nice to plan something out together and execute it, although the "younger selves" group had taken far less sewing and she would much rather be hunched over a cauldron than pricking herself over and over with needles. Still, she was happy with the result, and kept flapping her tail cheerfully as students walked past the chair she had settled in on.

Looking up at her colleague, Kahurangi smiled. "You should take a seat too, that can't be easy to walk in." Kahurangi said to Selene, gesturing to the seat next to her. She still wasn't used to looking on her former student as a peer, the motherly instincts she felt towards all her Ravenclaws still in full effect. "It turned out beautiful, though."

Selene was excited for the halloween feast this year. It was her second time attending as a professor and the novelty of that had not even started to wear thin. But this is what made this year special was that she was in a group costume alongside Professor Josephs. She entered the hall, wishing she had put a slightly longer slit in her skirt so that she could walk a little easier, after all selkies were known for their dancing. She had got a glass of pumkin juice and made her slow way around the hall she stopped when she saw Kahurangi sitting in a stunning mermaid costume. she came to stand next to her friend and collegue. "Thank you Kahurangi. you're right, but I am sure it is stil easier than a tail" she said. taking the seat next to her. "would you like anything?" she asked offering the plate over she smiled at the compliment. thank you. the hours spent sewing with you definatly made it better" she said thinking of the afternoons they had spent together sewing, drinking tea, and talking about the course and their plans for it. "your mermaid outfit is amazing, if professors could win you should get best dressed. I will admit I did have my doubts at times but they were unfounded" she said looking art her formers pforessors outfit still slightly amazed at how well the chaos she had witnessed had fallen together.
