Fifth Years: Lesson Six

Hades remained on the professor's desk, perched with his legs crossed in front of them. He did not have anything planned other than one spell. There were no quizzes to be learned this time. He instead had a cloak with a hood on his lap as he waited for the fifth years to arrive. Once they were in and seated, Hades did not bother closing the door since they would be heading out anyway. "There won't be a quiz this time around, so you all will be learning a charm that would be useful, especially if you play Quidditch and experience the weather when it is not quite sunny." Hades himself never played the game, but his father had years ago when he was in school. "You can use this spell on anything, either yourself, your classes, a book, whatever you please. The spell you will be learning is Impervious. Observe." Hades pulled out his wand and intoned the spell over his cloak that was on his lap. The light glow appeared around it, and then faded.

"Cast this spell on an object that you are not afraid to get a little wet for when we go outside. It is raining after all. So, get to it and then follow me outside." Hades got up from his seat once everyone had something they charmed. He threw the cloak around his shoulders and put the hood over his hair. He led the way out of the Charms classroom, down the steps and soon outside where there was a straight up downpour. His boots were soaked, but his cloak seemed to have a barrier around it, keeping it perfectly dry. He turned around to face the students. "Impervious repels water. This is why it is highly useful for Quidditch matches. But you can use it if you don't want to end up wet from something like this." Hades gestured with his hand up to the sky. "Other than that, you are all free to leave. Good luck on your OWLs."
Assignment: RP the lesson

It was surprising that the last lesson of the semester was the only one without a quiz or a review of any kind. Instead, Professor Styx led them outside to teach them a new spell, Impervious. Before heading out, she cast the spell on the hood of her robe and headed out into the rain. Amazingly, her hood stayed dry. Ok, that was a useful spell. Professor Styx didn’t keep them much longer and let them go after the spell had been properly demonstrated. Alana grabbed her things and left.
