Fellowship

Hugo was nervous and excited and slightly apprehensive. part of him still couldnt believe that he had a boyfriend,and that boyfriend was Teddy Pirrip. But after a night as magical as the ball had been, he had an actual, real-life boyfriend who liked him, and he really enjoyed kissing.
it had been way back at the start of the semester when they had hardly been friends when the talk of the loard of the rings came up and now it seemed like a perfect excuse to have the afternoon together. he had spent the morning getting ready. getting a selection of snacks and drinks. cleaning up his bedroom and the sitting room. he wanted things tobeperfect when teddy got here. Once he was sure things were right, he glanced at the clock. five minutes until t-time. once he was done he sat on the arm char a book in his hand though he was unable to read, the nerves had him looking at the clock every five seconds and out the front window at the drive every other

Teddy was enjoying the perks that came with turning seventeen over the break as he could now practice magic outside of Hogwarts. It would be even better after next semester once he has his apparition license. He would never need to side along apparate with his dad again. He wasn't certified yet though so still needed a hand in that department. His dad knew the area well enough, he managed to get Teddy close enough to Hugo's house to easily walk the rest of the way on his own.

Teddy was excited about hanging out with his boyfriend outside of Hogwarts for the first time, wondering if it would feel different in a different setting. Maybe it would be better, or maybe worse, although he hoped not. He was curious to see what Hugo's house looked like too as he reached the street, counting down the numbers of each house until he reached the right one. Taking a deep breath first Teddy shook out his hands from his pockets, stepped up to the door, and knocked firmly.

Violet wouldnt believe how things were going this holiday. she was enjoying herself. she had gone shopping with her mama, baught some new clothes. and she they had had a spa day and they had even gone to see a pantomime at the theatre. but the thing that she was enjoying most about this holiday was how different her brother was. how he would squirm at the mention of a cirtain name. and just how red he blushed. today had been an epic. he had spent ages getting ready making shre that his room was tidy that everyhing was in order. before giving the sitting room a deep clean and buying so many snacks she was sure he would be able to feed his enitre year not kist the two of them.
She watched hugo from the hallway as he gave the room a last neaten before sitting down to nonchelently read while he waited though she knew he wasnt actually reading as the book was upside down. she heared a knock on the door and promptly ran to open it wanting to get there before her brother just so she could embaress him a little bit more. she opened it. and saw Teddy Pirrip "hey Teddy" she said before turning around and bellowing into the house "hugo your boyfriends here" before turning to look at the boy. he was good looking he could see what hugo saw in him. though she did still think it was a weird match that her nerd of a bother had got with the gryffindor qiidditch captain. one of the most jockyest Jocks in the school. she smiled at Teddy. "he has been looking forward to today all holiday. i hevent seen him this excited about anyhting, ever, not even when he got to meet his favorite author." she said. "cleaned everywhere to make it perfect for you. he even cleaned the bottom of the toilet seat" she added in a loud whisper sure hugo was near enough by now to hear her. she looked around to findher brother and was pleased to see that he looked a suitable shade of tomato, her work here was done. "I'm goign to be upstairs ou of your way. but reemember sound travells" she said darting out of the way to the safety of her bedroom. where she was planning to give herself a pedicure ready for new years.

hugo was lookingat the snacks on the tavle woobdering if teddy would mind if he opened the pringles when he heard a knock at the door, by the time he had put the bookmark in his book Violet was creaming at him fom the hal. she must have been waiting there for him to arrive or very cooincidnced in his arrival. judging by how well he knew violet it was the latter . especialy when he heard her talking about how how excited he was to have teddyo ver. but th erealy cruncher that made him blush of emvbaresmsment. was the comment of the toilet seat. like surlt everyone cleaned the underside it was just gross otherwise. "alright Right Violet. thats enough. i am sure you have got someone else to tourment/ he said. trying not to show just how successful she was being at embaressing him. it seemed like she had done her job as she left them duckign into the sittin room to grab the pringles before heading up the stairs.
once she was out of the wy hugo stepped towards Teddy, his boyfriend. "Hi Teddy. Come in. how is your holiday going? how was your birthday" he said putting his hand on teddys arm not quite sure if he should lean in and kiss him.

Teddy had barely knocked when the door flew open and there was Violet, he hadn't been expecting to see her but it made sense that she lived here too. He managed to say "Hi" before she was already on one, talking about how excited Hugo was to have him over. Teddy wondered vaguely how the family might react if Teddy was to cast the silencing charm on her, but thought better of it, even with the bit about the toilet seat. “Right,” He was trying so hard not to laugh at her. A little snort escaped as Violet finally disappeared upstairs. Teddy’s grin softened at Hugo. “Hi,” he said again, already feeling relaxed. Hugo looked nervous, a bit flushed, and kind of adorable. “Your sister is... interesting” Teddy being an only child, was pleased he didn't have to deal with siblings. He stepped closer, “Birthday was decent thanks. How was yours?” He glanced toward the direction Violet had vanished into to check she definitely wasn't still there. Then looked back at Hugo and leaned in to kiss him.

hugo felt himself start to relax a little as violet vanished uo the stairs. it wasnt the worst she could have done but it was somewhere that way. he blushed was slightly embaressed as teddy said his sister was interesting "Yeah. i think she has been planning that all week" he said. thouh to be honest he probably did deservie it he had a feeling he had likely been rather unbarable.
he felt teddy step towards him as though each of his nerves was comingto life and stretching towards him. "that is good. mine was good too" he said. he had long since given up trying to get friends around for his birthday. but maybe now he should try and do it again. it would have been really nice to spend the day with teddy and Oz, and rhion, and miranda. maybe now most of them were of age it would be easier to organise.
as teddy stepped closer hugo didnt need to be asked twice he reached up and cupped the back of teddies head before leaning in to kiss him. back it wasnt a big kiss nott too deep or long. but it was sweet and gentle. and hugo broke away smiling. "welcome to our home. can i get you anything he asked gesturing further in and towards the sitting room which he had set up as a cozy movie watching room.

Teddy hummed happily after the kiss before he pulled away, even he knew this wasn't the place for a long makeout session as much as he wanted it to be. He took a moment to glance around Hugo's house, peeking a look into the comfy looking sitting room where he expected they would be doing that long make out session later. Then he turned back to Hugo to answer the question. "Do you have juice?" he asked hopefully, trailing after him. Just then he remembered that he had something for Hugo. "Oh! I got you a birthday present!" he added. He slipped his backpack off his shoulder and pulled a slightly squashed wrapped gift out of it. "Hopefully it survived side along apparation okay. Here you are." He said offering it to his boyfriend. Inside was a comic book, the latest Martin Miggs the Mad muggle comic book which Teddy had enjoyed reading. Folded inside the comic was something more special, it was a picture of the two of them at the Yule Ball which Teddy had acquired for Hugo's picture frame.

hugo nodded when teddy asked if they had juice. "Yes we have orange or apple. he said. changing his direction from the sitting room to the kitchen when Teddy said he had got him a birthday present. "Oh thank you. you didnt ned to" he said not realising that there was anything else inside. taking the preasent and inwrappig it revieling a comic book. "I haven't read this one. but i like martin miggs. i look forward to reading it" he said. He was a big fan of comics, although most of the ones he read were miggle superhero ones. he liked the art style in Martin Miggs, plus how different the story lines were.
He gave Teddy a hug before stepping back and smiling at him. he was still surprised he had someone like Teddy as a friend, let alone his boyfriend. "do you want to see around before the movie. or do you want to get straight into movie afternoon?" he asked.

Teddy sighed quietly with relief when Hugo said he hadn’t read the issue he'd given him yet. He nodded fondly and told him “It’s a good one,” he said, then looked around for the other, arguably more important gift. “Have you found the photograph yet?" He asked, checking it hadn't been missed. Teddy perked up when Hugo offered a chance to look around. “Yeah, if you want to show me around. I’d like that.” He ran a hand through his own hair as he looked toward the hallway and then back to Hugo. “I mean I’ve never been in someone else’s house like this before, apart from one time at Marley's house but that was years ago. So yeah, tour me around.” He paused, then added cheekily with a laugh, “Also I want to see your bedroom.”

hugo looked at the comic when Teddy said it was a good one. "I look forward to reading it" he said teddys next uestion confused him a little. the photo. comics were known to be drawings not photos. but he fipped through ti and he didnt have go far to see him and tedy dressed in their finest smiling and waving up at him looking very cozy with their arms around each other "aww. how did you.." he started before it clicked. he could remember fraiser taking the photo o them. and it clicked that while he and fraiser were friends and in the same year teddy and fraser were in the same house and were on quidditch together and were probably even clower friedns. "I know where that is going" he said. he listened as teddy said he wanted to look around and ndded cool. we will do that first then. and i can put the picture up, this way"[/b] he said gesturing to the stairs.
he led them up the stairs and along the landing. "this is violets room" he said gesturing to the closed door that quite clearly said Violet on it in silver and green. he then pointed to the closed door opisite. "that is my mums' room" he said "that is the bathroom" he said gesturing to a room that was clearl a bathroom and the spare room come mums office. hi mum im just showing teddy around"[/b] he said yesturing to a room that was set up with a double bed on one side with a desk on the other files and shelves next to it and at the dask was his mum working on a computer. he let her say hello before urging teddy forward to the last room at the end of the landing. "and this is my room" he said. opening the door. it was not a big room and simply set out. in front of them was a single bed. neatly made with dark blue sheets. with a chest of draws next to it holding a lamp and a small pile of books, at the foot of the bed was his school trunk still mostly packed. and a desk under the window with a few piles of paper and notepads on it a mix of his homework, hogwarts monthly things and drafts of his head boy speech with a wardrobe behind it. and a couple of crammed bookshelves lagainst the other walls. "Welcome to the best room in the house" he said. it was small but neatly kept and while it may be the smallest and the furthest away (which in violets words was because boys smelled) he likedit because it was quiet and the only room with a view over the park next to them instead of the street and he got some great sunset views. he put the comic down and took the frame out of his trunk, opening it and putting the picture in. "doesnt that look great. Thank you," he said, setting it on his desk so he could see it when he was working, and turning around to Teddy.

Leigh had been slightly supprised when hugo had written to her and steph asking for them to send him a new shirt and bowtie for the ball as well and a silly frog toy she kept in her bookshop for a friend for christmas but they had done so, along with a letter and of course a selection of other treats for both of the kids. it had not been so much of a suprise when the school holidays had come and her usually quit and reserved son seemed lighter and happier than sheh ad seen him in years. even violet teasing him about his boyfriend didnt seem to bring him down too much. she had never really thought about who her children would date. but realised that she hadnt really expected it which wasnt to say she wasnt pleased for him. and she looked forward to meeting the young man who was makign her son so happy.
when hugo asaked if teddy could come over to watch the lord of the rings she had to agree, the lord of the rings was one of her favorite books and she was glad that her son also liked it as much as her. one of her early dates with steph when they had been on a pony treck over the landscapes used in the series. she still had a phto of that day in her office in the bookshop. she was working from home on the day that he was coming over sorting orders and payroll. as steph had work and she wantedto give them the impression of some kind of parental supervision. plus she was looking forward to meeting the boy. she had the door open and could hear the conversation downstars then footsteps on the stairs a hugo gave atour of the house. she looked out the door as they passed. "Hello Teddy nice to meet you" she said getting up and making her way to the door "how is your holiday? I hope you had a good brithday, huo says yours is he day before his" she said. she could see from the look on hugos face that he wasnt here for mum talks "I'll let you guys get to it, i hope you enjoy the movie, its one of my favourites. i make us all watch the series it every winter " she said. "just remember downstairs door open please" she said. as they ganished into hugos room. not that she didnt trust them, hugo saw far more responsable than most eighteen year olds she knew, but boundaries were good. plus it mean she would get the movie soundtrack for the afternoon.
