Celestine was pretty busy with music lessons beyond her regular school classes, but she had been given a job to do with co-captaining the team and she was determined to see the job through. Kirby would be co-captaining this year which was a relief, the older girl was a very good seeker and better at being competitive and pushing the team than she was. Celestine liked putting on a performance and loved the drama of Quidditch games as much as having fun hitting bludgers, but sometimes she had to think more about the trying to win thing.

"Bonjour, mes amies!" she greeted the assorted students as they appeared for try-outs. "Bienvenue! Kirby and I are very happy to be your captains this year and we are looking forward to seeing what you can do!" Celestine worried she was hogging the spotlight, but it was what she was quite literally training to do after school. She could project her voice quite well, which helped. "For new players and anyone who was an alternate last year, would you please let us know your name and what you would like to play? People on the team, please help out by playing with the people trying out!" She didn't work quite as well without a script, but she did her best. "Allons-y!"

OOCOut of Character:
Welcome back! As is the standard, those of you who are already on the team, please post an attendance to maintain your position. If you were an alternate or you're new to the team, please RP trying out for the position you would like to play. Second years and up only, please - if you really, desperately want a first year on the team for some reason please PM either @Kirby Rosatta-Chevotet or myself (or both of us) to negotiate. Please also make sure your character's grade is noted somewhere on your profile (and up to date) to make record-keeping a little easier (in case I have messed up moving people in or out). Any questions please reach out!

Juneau nodded in understanding at Celestine's instructions. She took to the sky and supported the chasers trying out for the open spot. It was nice that the pressure was off herself. She didn't try to score because she wanted the tryouts to have their opportunity, and worried she might not look good if she missed. At the end of the session she headed back down to the ground for the debrief.

Kirby grinned at Celestine, glad to be able to help out in her last year. Celestine would be in it for the long haul, but she didn't mind, she thought Celestine was a very good player after all. "Qui, please remember that Celestine and I will be here if you need anything, or have any pressing questions, the most important thing is to have fun!" She wouldn't mind going back to Hogwarts again this year to both win this time and to see Bailey again.

Elsie was ready for another year of Quidditch, and she had hopes for the team this year. She stood on the quidditch pitch amongst the other players as she listened carefully to what the captain had to say. It wasn't long before they were up in the air and Elsie quickly made her way to the goals, defending the quaffles. She managed to stop a few which she was pleased to do. She thought she did a decent job today.

Alicia felt oddly nervous as she headed to the familiar Quidditch pitch at Beauxbatons. Transferring back hadn't been an easy decision, but so far she hadn't regretted it either. But one big question was her spot on the Quidditch team. It was in no way guaranteed that she would have a spot, especially not after she abandoned the team two years ago to go to Hogwarts. Alicia just hoped she could be an alternate, if nothing else. She smiled nervously at the captains, then stepped forward for her turn. "Alicia Richelieu, chaser." She said, then took to the air. She caught the quaffle and passed it to a few other players before it returned to her again. She made her way to the hoops and managed to score, which made her smile. She scored a few more times, though two of her shots were blocked. In the end, she felt like she had tried her best. She landed again, wondering if she would make it. She wondered if her old teammates resented her, or if it was just in her mind.

Enzo made his way out onto the pitch for the Quidditch try-outs, he was ready for the new quidditch season and hoped they could put together a team that could beat Hogwarts, assuming they got there.

Tullia arrived at the pitch, she'd been disappointed but not surprised that her brothers had gone to school in New Zealand, she was the outlier. She arrived at the pitch ready to hit things and then grabbed the bat and headed into the air.

If you’re a first year and you want to try out, now is the time!

Sophie was a spontaneous girl. She did what she wanted, when she wanted. The thing was, she'd never really wanted to play Quidditch. Has she ever played Quidditch? No. Not really. Why was she here at the Beauxbatons Quidditch tryouts? To tryout for the team of course! Why? Just to try really. And well, now at least she and her boyfriend would have something to talk about once the holidays rolled around. She was sure he mentioned that he was going to play professionally. Well, she'll tell him all about tryouts.

"I'm Sophie Vittori and I don't know what I like so maybe I'll try out for all of them?" she said with a shrug as she grabbed a beater's bat. She didn't know how she was going to try out for all of the positions since they seemed to have their own thing but hey. The bat was probably the first step right? She took to the air when they were allowed and flew around the Pitch.

Maybe she got her positions wrong because somehow, Sophie had to chase the bludgers to hit them because that was the point of the beater right? To hit the bludger? So yes, she was chasing the bludgers and hitting them with all her might, though unlike the others she sort of needed to use both hands because the first time the bat nearly flew out of her hand. Now where was she hitting the bludgers to? She didn't really think she had to target anything so, yes. Sophie was chasing and flinging bludgers randomly. It was on her fourth bludger however that she lost her grip on her bat as the bludger flung it away from her hand. Oops. Next position it was!

Without the beater's bat, Sophie blended in more with the other chaser hopefuls. She thought she was doing better at this position since she managed to catch the quaffle albeit nearly dropping it. But hey, she caught it! Passing was going great too! Or so she thought - she didn't know if the others would agree that her very low passes were great but since they were catching it, she was totally none the wiser. Then came the moment of truth! Scoring. She stopped in front of the hoops - maybe or maybe not baffling the keeper - aimed carefully and threw the ball.... she missed. Completely unsurprising. Terror made it look so easy, she sighed.

Oh well. Can't cry over spilled ice cream. Now that she'd tried beater and chaser, it was time to try and find that elusive snitch. And so she searched and she searched and she searched. How was one supposed to find a teeny tiny ball in the air? She followed whoever seemed to be the other seeker and just followed closely behind them because if she can't find the ball, she'll just follow a person. It took forever but she finally saw the glint of gold and sped after it. And between one moment and the next... she lost sight of it. Oops.

When it was time to land, Sophie didn't even realize she didn't try the Keeper position. Oh well. She tried her best.
