The first few days back at school were always the worst. And in Angelo's most humble opinion, this was by far the worst first few days back. In the previous years, the first few days were just tiring because introductions and review and just the whole being back in school. Last year, there was the part where it was his first time in a boarding school and being out of the country. This year however. This year was worse because he had been back in the Philippines for a solid two months! He'd gotten his mum's cooking the whole time. He'd gotten Jollibee and Mcdo and KFC and Chowking all he wanted. He got rice. He didn't even have to speak English 24/7. It was the best summer vacation ever. He wasn't allowed to do magic but who cared? He didn't have a need for magic for ten, eleven years. He didn't need it for two months! And now he was back in this stupid school and he was doing homework and trying to catch up on some stupid reading for Defense because no one had to play catch up as much as muggle-borns did. And they didn't even have rice at breakfast again - just some cereals and breads and fruits and eggs and sausages and how was he supposed to get full from that? It was too early for the lunch hour too, so now he's just loitering in the Courtyard trying to get the stupid reading done when all he wanted to do was go home and eat his mum's food because his stomach was growling too loud to even concentrate on stupid jinxes. What were they even? As far as he was concerned, that's when you say when two people say the exact same thing at the same time.

Eliza was in her final year at Hogwarts, and she was quite pleased she had made it this far. The girl had spent her break engrossed in her usual comic books, purchasing some new ones as well as enjoying her lola's* food that she always missed when she was in Hogwarts. The food they had here wasn't the same compared to what her lola would make. There was always rice involved with her grandmother's Filipino dishes, and Hogwarts sadly didn't seem to offer that on their regular menu. Which was usually part of the reason why she was homesick a lot of the time. Missing her grandmother's cooking.

The Gryffindor had made her way to the courtyard, a few comic books at hand. As she was about to sit down, she started to hear sounds of... growling? Which concerned Eliza a little. There seemed to be one other person in the courtyard. The boy seemed a lot younger than she was, and she hadn't really seen the boy around before, so she decided to make her way towards the boy, and the closer she got, the more she heard the boy's stomach growling. "Hey, are you alright?" Eliza says with concern before she digs into her bag and pulls out some small Filipino treats her grandma had given her before her train ride back to Hogwarts. "I know lunch is a while off, but you can have these if you like? I've got plenty back in my dorm," Eliza offered, though she wasn't going to be offended if the boy declined and was happy to explain what it was if the boy didn't know.

*lola = grandma

i hope this is okay hehe!

Angelo looked up from the reading he was very much not understanding when an older girl came up to him. "Yes po, just hungry," he said with a sigh and without much thought. He still hadn't gotten out of the habit of inserting po into his sentences when talking to the older students or the professors. He didn't like how disrespectful it felt to just refer to people by name even. He was cut off from his thought process though when the girl offered him very familiar treats. "Uuuuuy polvoron!!" he yelled gladly putting his book to the side to lean in and look at what flavors the older girl had. His eyes lit up when he saw one that was cashew-flavored and he looked up at her as if to ask for permission before he shyly took one. "Pinay ka 'te?" he asked as he opened the treat and popped it into his mouth, humming, pleased at the burst of flavor in his mouth as he munched. It wouldn't be enough to make him full until lunch came around but it definitely cheered him up by loads. "Pwede pala magdala nito," he muttered mostly to himself because he hadn't thought to bring which was silly because he didn't even have to ride the airplane this time so no x-rays since Finley's dad got him a portalet (he means portkey). "Pwede kaya magpadala si mama? Ay... Kaya kaya?" he wondered because could owls even carry a box of treats? Did they have a version of LBC?

*You're Filipina, big sister?
*Apparently you can bring these
*I wonder if mama can send some? Oh... Is it possible?
