First Years, Lesson Five: Learning Flammeus Tailora (match into a needle)

It had been hard work teaching with a mandrake leaf in his mouth for a month, but Edward was reaching the end of this unpleasant step of Animagus training. The next step would be even tougher, but he'd work on that over the school break. For now, he stood at the front of the classroom holding a large box of matches which he casually tossed from one hand to the other, still keeping speech to a minimum but the students must be used to that by now. He got the attention of the student closest to him and motioned that he was going to throw them the matchbox, then lightly tossed the box of matches for them to catch, "Nice catch, ava hoose point on me." Edward mumbled around the leaf, nodding approvingly. "Take a shingle match, then passh the box along, pleash." He paused, eyes narrowing slightly. "Nobody even think about lighting it unlessh you want to loshe sheveral hoose points an get absholutely drenched when I put out the flame." He warned them.

Once everyone had a match, Professor Pirrip summoned back the box and removed one match for the demonstration. "Today we are turning matchesh into needles and using the 'three tap' method again." He didn't have a hope of pronouncing the spell correctly that he pointed his wand at the board and wrote Flammeus Tailora Then he pointed his wand at the match and non-verbally turned it into a needle. In the blink of an eye the wooden shaft became sleek metal, and the red phosphorus tip shifted into the needle eye for threading. "Shhimple. You may begin!" Edward walked around the class observing, then dismissed them at the end of the lesson.
Note: "Finite" is a counter-spell, not Untransfiguration, and shouldn't be used to reverse any transfigurations.

Homework: RP trying to turn your match into a needle! Extra credit to whoever claims the student catching the box of matches. Tag @Professor Edward Pirrip if you would like me to interact with your character (though probably best not to this week)!

This whole turning things into other things nonsense was still way beyond Christa’s understanding of how things worked. She was still trying to get used to the idea of magic at all, especially when it came to things that just did’n’t have a muggle equivalent. The matchbox was passed around and she nerbously took one of the matches, reminding herself this wasn’t for lighting, since she had that spell already and it was the only one she could do with any real consistancy. She held the match carefully and tried to imagine it turning into one of her mums sewing needles. She didn’t know if it definitely had to be a sewing needle, but she figured that made the most sense. She pracitced for a while and then when the class finished up she headed out.

The Professor seemed to have found his voice again, which was good because Miles didn't like reading all too much. Though, the Professor was still talking pretty weird for whatever reason. But, he was pleased that once again they would be getting to practice some magic, seemingly moving on from boring lectures. While he didn't know what reason he would have for turning a matchstick into a needle, magic was still magic, and he wanted to learn. He wasted no time in getting to practice, a little disappointed that it didn't just work perfectly the first time around. But, soon enough he had what somewhat looked like a needle in his hand, proud of his work. Then, the lesson was over, Miles handing his needle in to the Professor before leaving the classroom.
