There were typically two types of people around Theodore Nightray: those who want to suffocate him with a pillow, and those who would eventually - if not yet - find him endearing. Or at least that's how he prefers to think of it. His cousin Mikael fell squarely in the former category, while his best friend, Elio - who also happened to be Mikael's boyfriend - fell in the latter. Students and teachers alike in Hogwarts Scotland had sort of gotten used to his shenanigans. He still caused the occasional migraine, of course, he would frequently ask his parents to gift his professors with a nice bottle of their favorite drink - how Theo found out which they liked was a trade secret. For the students, a bouquet of flowers, a book, or some trinket as a peace offering usually did the trick. Of course, Theo would actually have to do something first before he gave a peace offering. Somehow, Hinata - Mikael's cousin - had taken to avoiding him with the help of her Hufflepuff friend. It was quite noticeable since said Hufflepuff friend would whisk Hinata away before he even tried to take a step. Now, he and Hinata got along fairly well in his opinion. She was a shy little thing that he loved to tease because she just blushed so prettily. So he'd expected to sort of have a friend when he transferred only to find her avoiding him at all costs. Now he'd have to figure out what made sweet, little Hinata annoyed at him and of course Mikael was less than helpful. The only option he has left is to sweet talk it out of her roommate - who he also had more classes with than he initially expected. Feisty woman that. He had a feeling they were going to get along swimmingly and she was definitely going to think he was endearing one day. "This is most definitely a bribe," he said as he presented the girl with a big bouquet of lilies as he walked up to the Hufflepuff table, Hinata nowhere in sight - well, not that big cause he had to rush an owl order for it but hey, it was the best he could do.

Bailey expected things to change as the years progressed, people grew, dynamics evolved but one thing she hadn’t accounted for was annoying transfer students, and that was what she had been stuck with entering her sixth year of Hogwarts. Theo Nightray seemed like a particular type of trouble and one she wanted no part of but with him taking a particular interest in Hinata, Bailey had seemingly taken it upon herself to keep him away from her roommate. She didn’t know what his designs on her were, other than the obvious, but she wanted to make sure that whatever his plans were he wouldn’t get to enact them.

Unfortunately for Bailey, putting herself between Theo and Hina meant putting herself on his radar, which meant he had now become a personal annoyance for her. Which meant him doing things like showing up out of the blue while she was having lunch. “What do you want?” Bailey asked without looking at him, she noticed the flowers in his hand, she just didn’t care.

"Weeeell," Theo said at length only for the suspense. He was pretty sure Bailey wasn't exactly up for the suspense but that was exactly why he was doing it. "I want to know why sweet little Hinata is avoiding me," he said with a grin. It wasn't like he and Hinata had met for the first time when he transferred here. Their fathers didn't exactly get along but they had seen one another enough times throughout the years to not be complete strangers. Somehow though, he'd managed to scare her off completely, which was a feat because he hadn't even managed to talk to her alone since he arrived in the school! And considering Mikael was as about to tell him as the sky was to fall, his only option was seemingly Hinata's friend. And so bribery with flowers it was. At least until he could figure out what else he could bribe her with.

Bailey didn’t like the way Theo talked about Hina, it creeped her out and as long as she was around there was no way she was letting him be alone with her. Bailey didn’t know much about their previously relationship, other than Theo wasn’t a complete stranger to her, that didn’t stop her getting the creeps from the Gryffindor. “She’s not avoiding you, I’m keeping you from her,” She said firmly.

The face Theodore made of utter offense because whaaaaaat? "What do you mean?!" he asked utterly distressed. Well, maybe exaggeratedly distressed. But hey! Distress is well-deserved! Theo liked Hinata. She was practically a cousin! And one of the nicest ones he's got! And she was cute! It was so easy to tease her and she wasn't really one that got mad and annoyed and hit him on the head. So really, it was quite mean of this Hufflepuff friend to keep Hina away from him. "Oh," he said as the proverbial lightbulb lit up. "OH," he said again as he blinked at Hinata's pretty friend. "Well, if you wanted me to take you out instead, I'm definitely free this afternoon," he said with a grin. "Is your lake too cold for a swim this time of year? It is summer now right? Or is it still spring? So? What do you say? Swim date in the lake this afternoon?"
