Lesson 2
Addison was pretty sure that this lesson would involve sailing, so she went to class with some trepidation. She wasn't sure if everything would work out, but she had to push all her fears away. Before going to class, she checked to see if she had her wand. It was.

She entered the classroom, settled into one of the free seats, and waited for the lesson to begin. As soon as the lesson began, Addison listened carefully to what she would have to do in this lesson. She could tell for sure that this was going to be the most difficult lesson of all. She took a frog, then placed it on the table and pointed her wand at it. She had to concentrate. She said the words out loud, "Locust!" The first two times nothing happened. Addison lowered her head for a moment, concentrated, then decided to try a third time. At first, it seemed like nothing would work, but after a while the frog turned into a grasshopper. She was so happy that it worked. She tried again and again until the end of the lesson.

Lesson 3
Addison was quite sure that this lesson would involve sailing and therefore she went to class with some anxiety. She was not sure that everything would work out, but she had to drive away all her fears. Before going to class, she checked if she had taken her wand. It was yes.

She entered the classroom, settled in one of the free seats, then waited for the lesson to begin. As soon as the lesson began, Addison listened carefully to what she would have to do in this lesson. She could definitely tell that this was going to be the most difficult lesson of all. She took a frog, then placed it on the table and pointed her wand at it. She had to concentrate. She said the words out loud, “Cuniculus,” The first two times nothing happened. Addison lowered her head for a short moment, concentrated, then decided to try a third time. At first it seemed that nothing would work, and it didn't work either, then she tried for the fourth time and it worked - the rat turned into a rabbit. She was so happy that it worked. Until the end of the lesson she tried again and again.

Lesson 4
Addison was absolutely sure that she would have to sail in this lesson and therefore she went to class with some anxiety. She wasn't sure that everything would work out, but she had to drive all her fears away. Before going to class she checked if she had taken her wand. It was yes. She entered the classroom and took out her notes when she sat down. Waiting for the lesson to begin.

Soon it was. Addison was relieved that she wouldn't have to sail when the professor started talking about Clashing Magic and wrote it down in her notes, because it was important and would be on the exam. As soon as she could go, she left the classroom, but not before saying goodbye to the professor.


Lesson 5
Addison had been in two minds before the last lesson. However, when the lesson began, she was glad that she didn't have to sail, but to write again. She wrote down everything the professor said about animgus and everything that was written down. Until they could leave.

Lesson Two

The first year of Transfiguration lessons had been pretty boring, too many lectures and not enough practical spellcasting. William was hoping for something more interesting in his second year, he walked inside the classroom and settled into his seat and Professor Pirrip introduced them by asking who had remembered their wand, which was a good sign. They would be attempting to turn beetles into buttons, which sounded cool even if William didn’t love the idea of playing with beetles. After listening to Professor Pirrip the best way to go about performing the spell, William got a beetle from the jar and too it to his desk. He tried to imagine a black button, the same shade of his beetle and pointed his wand at the insect. “Praepilatus,” It took a couple of attempts but eventually a small black button sat on his desk where the beetle had previously been crawling around. William was pretty happy with his work, so he took his button to Professor Pirrip for grading and untransfiguration, he then left the classroom.

Lesson Three

William remembered learning about turning wizards into statues, the history of it being used as a punishment and the complicated moral dilemma that surrounded it. So he was quite surprised that they would be learning how to turn a chipmunk into a statue. So far the spells they had learned had been quite specific so he wasn’t sure if the same spell would turn something else into a statue, but it did seem awfully strange that they were learning to cast a variation of something they had learned about as a punishment the year before. William took the chipmunk that was handed to him by Professor Pirrip and set it on his desk, he took out his wand and pointed it at the small creature, “Statua,” To William’s surprise, the creature instantly turned to stone. He hadn’t expected to get it on his first attempt. William handed the statue to the professor so he could turn it back and made his way out of the classroom.

Lesson Four

William had been a little conflicted about turning a chipmunk into stone during the previous Transfiguration lesson but he took comfort knowing Professor Pirrip reversed it after their lesson. Following on from their previous lesson they would now be learning about Inanimate to Animate Transfiguration, which sounded even more complicated and ethically dubious. William took out a sheet of parchment and took notes as Professor Pirrip went through some of the details, as it seemed like a lesson they wouldn’t actually be practicing magic. It was intriguing to think that any personality displayed by inanimate objects would be given by the caster, William wondered how they would go about doing that. Once the lesson was over he packed away his notes and made his way out of the classroom.

Lesson Five

After an introduction to the concept in the previous lesson William was expecting to be given an opportunity to practice Inanimate to animate Transfiguration, as it turned out it would take the shape of turning a teapot into a turtle. After watching the demonstration by Professor Pirrip, William went up to his desk and grabbed a teapot to take back to his own so he could practice the spell. He took out his wand and pointed it down at the teapot, “Torte,” It took a couple of attempts before there was any movement on the teapot, but eventually he managed to turn it into a turtle, its shell matching the pattern of the original teapot. William was pretty happy with it, he took his turtle over to Professor Pirrip for him to check out his work and mark accordingly. Once the lesson was over he grabbed his things and made his way out of the classroom.

One:
Vikram was content to be back at school. He felt well established here at the school. He had his routines, a small select group he liked to socialize with, paths he liked to walk. And it was nice to be away from home- he enjoyed the solitude of his room but his parents were always a little more overbearing when he'd returned.

He found his way to class and took his seat, pulling out his parchment and favorite quill. He scribbled off a few notes, trying and failing to hide a little chuckle. Professor P, was it? He bit his lip to stop the sound, giving the man an apologetic smile. The rest of the class passed without incident. He had a feeling he would enjoy this course. He threw another smile to the Professor as they were dismissed, deciding to go get a small nap in.

Lesson One:
Susie sauntered into the Transfiguration with an almost proprietorial air and claimed herself a good seat. She had been looking forward to getting stuck into the subject again, although she hoped there wouldn't be quite so many essays this year; her poor hand had started cramping up. Unfurling her parchment, she began taking notes. Animate to inanimate transfiguration. It sounded a bit cruel, and Susie for one wasn't remotely surprised to hear that it had once been used as a weapon by dark wizards. She would have been surprised if it wasn't still used for nefarious purposes. Wizards these days were just better at covering their tracks, probably. Once she felt she had enough notes, she packed up and headed out.

Lesson Two:
Susie was feeling a bit under the weather that morning, but as soon as Professor Pirrip announced they were doing a bit of wandwork, she perked right up. She still wasn't entirely happy about the idea that transfigured creatures retained some of their consciousness, but she had decided, somewhat il logically, that it couldn't possibly be true. A button didn't have a brain! It had to be more like a deep sleep, and everybody loved a good long nap, didn't they?

She collected her beetle and withdrew her sycamore wand. Three taps. Praepilatus. That was the easy part. Picturing the coat button was more of a challenge; every time she thought she'd cemented the image in her head, it turned into something else. Oh well - it was probably good enough. Carefully, she tapped her beetle three times. "Praepilatus." Nothing happend at first. All right, not quite as easy as it sounded. A few more attempts later, however, her beetle turned into a perfectly circular black button. She held it up to her robes, wondering if she could sew it in as a reminder of her success. No - it probably wanted to be a beetle again at some point. She got up and handed it in.

Lesson 1
It wasn't that Rhea was excited about Transfiguration, but she knew she would need it for the rest of her life, so she had to know all of it. As she walked to the lesson, she remembered that everything had gone well in the first year, so everything should be quite good this year too, at least she would try to make it so. The girl settled into one of the free seats, took out her notes from her bag, then put them on the floor and then waited for the professor to start the lesson. It didn't take long, a few minutes, when the professors started the lesson and Rhea wrote down in her notes everything that was said, what awaited them this year. She tried to write down everything that was important and tried to remember such insignificant things. By the time the lesson ended, Rhea put her things in her bag, said goodbye to the professor and then left the classroom.

Lesson 2
Rhea went to the second lesson with a little fear, because fear and anxiety had taken over, but she knew she had to get rid of them before going to class. She entered the classroom, but her inner fear had not disappeared anywhere, so that she had managed to get rid of her anxiety to some extent. She settled down in one of the free places that were still left, but not exactly where she had been before, but close enough to the front of the class to see and hear the professor better. She took out her notes from her bag, because she knew that she would need to write them down in order to do everything well and without the slightest mistakes. Soon the professor also began the lesson, telling her that today's topic would be turning a beetle into a button. It really seemed very difficult, which made Rhea even more afraid.

As soon as the professor told her, they could get started. At first, Rhea looked at how everyone else was doing with the beetle, but she didn't look for long, because she had to get started herself. She looked at the beetle and tried to concentrate, then raised her wand, at first the words sounded quiet like a beep, so nothing happened. She had to take a few breaths and exhales to drive away the fear and anxiety that nothing would happen. A few breaths and exhales, then she raised her wand again towards the beetle, this time the voice sounded loud and sure. "Praepilatus!" she carefully watched what was happening to the beetle, it began to bend and twitch a little until it began to change shape and then turned into a button. Rhea wanted to scream with joy, but she restrained herself and waited a moment before trying again. By the end of the lesson, she tried to turn the beetle into a button two more times. As soon as they could be free, Rhea put her things in her bag, said goodbye to the professor and left the classroom.

Lesson 3
The week had already flown by so far that it was already the Transfiguration lesson. Rhea, of course, felt fear again inside, but she definitely had to get rid of it before she went to class. She settled down in one of the free places that were still left, but not exactly where she had been before, but close enough to the front of the class to see and hear the professor better. She took out her notes from her bag, because she knew that she would need to write down everything that would be said, so that she would have something to record herself, what transformation would be performed. Soon the professor also started the lesson, told about today's topic, that the chipmunk would have to be turned into a statue. Here Rhea's fear was there again.

Rhea knew that the sooner she got started, the better and the fear would disappear. She looked at the chipmunk and tried to concentrate, then she raised her wand, at first the words sounded too quiet and the first time nothing happened. Therefore, it was necessary to take a few breaths and exhales to drive away the fear and anxiety that nothing would happen. A few breaths and exhales, then she raised her wand again towards the beetle, this time the voice sounded loud and sure. "Statue!" she carefully watched what was happening to the chipmunk at first it moved quite quickly, but its movements became slower and slower until it turned into a statue. Rhea clapped her hands softly with joy, glad that she had succeeded, but tried again. By the end of the lesson she tried a few more times, twice she managed to turn the chipmunk into a statue, but three times she couldn't. It made her a little sad. As soon as they could be free, Rhea put her things in her bag, said goodbye to the professor and left the classroom.

Lesson Two:
Nox walked into the classroom and got ready to take notes depending on whatever spell they were learning today. When the beetle jar came around he quickly picked the one that looked the slowest so it wouldn’t have time to crawl away as he was preparing to turn it into a button. He took a breath and starting imaging how it would look as a button and then practiced the spell under his breath a couple of times before he set to actually trying it. He tapped it and said “Praepilatus,” and nothing happened. He tried again, and still nothing, third time he tried he managed to get the beetle turned successfully into a button, and grinned. It was mildly unsettling watching it, but he wasn’t trying to start a beauty line. As the lesson ended he packed up and headed out of class.

Lesson Three:
Nox headed into the classroom and quickly sat down so he could take notes about this lesson. He eyed the chipmunks in the room, and wasn’t really all that convinced about turning them into statues, but he wasn’t the professor. He took out his wand and practiced the spell a couple of times under his breath before he said “statua!” a couple of times. Nothing happened with the chipmunk for the first couple of times until it suddenly went rigid and turned to a dull ashen colour. Nox knew then he’d finally been successful. “I almost feel bad,” he said quietly under his breath, but the class was over, so he didn’t really think too much about it. He wasn’t getting into the interesting moral quandries he was sure people debated over most of the time.

Lessons 2-5

Lesson Two
It was odd that Professor Pirrip decided to thank them for returning for another lesson, as if they had a choice in the matter. Yes, they could have skipped but what first year was making that decision already? Lincoln settled into his seat and listened to Professor Pirrip as he discussed the relationship between Transfiguration and the Ministry of Magic. It was a heavily regulated area of magic which made sense, turning things into other things could have dangerous consequences if done incorrectly, or with malice. Lincoln made notes as they went over some of the areas of the magic that was particularly well regulated, human transfiguration, transfiguration of muggle artefacts etc. Though a flying carpet did sound like fun. Once the lesson was over Lincoln packed up his things and left the classroom.

Lesson Three
Lincoln headed into the transfiguration classroom and sat at his desk, takign out his notebook and quill when the professor said they wouldn’t need the wand today. He wasn’t really all that surprised as there weren’t too many spells for them to be learning yet. Theory was just fine of course, so he didn’t mind honestly. He took notes about the magic being regulated and licensed and made sure he had everything he needed for the exams at the end of the semester. Then there was a mention of time travel and that was certainly interesting, so he wasn’t surprised it was a part of transfiguration. The class ended soon after and he quickly packed up and headed out of class.

Lesson Four
Lincoln blinked at the professor’s muffled greeting as he walked into the room and sat at his usual table but didn’t think too much about it. He got ready for being able to practice the next spell they would learn and quickly took down some of the notes into his book so that he didn’t miss anything. The spell was pretty simple and upfront so he didn’t think it was going to be too difficult. He practiced a couple of times as the lesson came to an end and quickly headed out of the classroom when it was all over so he could find somewhere to practice.

Lesson Five
Lincoln walked into the classroom and wasn’t surprised to know they would be learning flammeus tailora, it was a fairly basic spell clearly since it was a first year spell so he was pretty sure it would not be terribly difficult to learn. He looked at the match when they were sent around the tables and picked up one he liked the look of, examining it closely. He quickly practiced the spell and tapped it with his wand three times and watched as it shimmered under the light from the candles around the room. Class was dismissed later and he packed up to leave so he could practice the spell on his own.

Lesson 5:
Susie didn't find Transfiguration easy, but she was determined to get a better grade this year. She knew she could get the hang of most of the spells, if she put in the practice. In that sense, procrastination was her greatest enemy - or perhaps it was her lack of self belief. For all she swaggered about and spoke like she was the authority on all her subjects, she really had no idea what she was doing. She wasn't smart like her aunt, or funny like her uncle. She was just a fake.

She shoved these thoughts aside and picked up her teapot. Now wasn't the time for doubts. Exams were just two weeks away, and she needed to perfect this spell in case it came up in the practical. Taking a deep breath, she replaced her mental images of doom with images of a tortoise, tapped the teapot with her wand and said, "Torte." Nothing ever worked first try, but it never got any less disheartening. Almost a dozen attempts later, and she was sure she was going to fail, when finally the teapot began to vibrate and morphed into... a tortoise? It looked like a tortoise, although there was something wrong with it that she couldn't put her finger on. Not just that its shell still had a flowery pattern on it - it was something less physical than that. Maybe she was overthinking things. It wasn't a real tortoise. That was why it didn't feel like one. Sighing, she handed it in for grading.
