Closed Lurking

Sage had decided that the Yule Ball would be the perfect place to scope out new targets. She was in a plain black hoodie and dark jeans with her combat books, trying to be casual as she moved about the room. There were a lot of pairings, but she was sure she could spot tension in several people. She made mental notes of everything, trying to decide who would be the best to target individually and who would be better in groups. She had been tempted to do a prank tonight, but she'd decided against it- she wanted a better scope of who would be at an event like this and how busy it would be, and how hard it would be to slip away or to blend in. There was a lot to consider about a prank done well, and she wasn't going to go into it half-heartedly just for the sake of doing something. She was so caught up in her recon that she didn't notice right away that she'd been spotted by someone else.

Henri wasn't good at keeping track of what school events were happening. So he had completely forgotten that it was the yuleball. He wasn't dressed for it, wearing just his regular clothes. He had dirt under his nails, and a branch or two in his hair - he'd been outside enjoying the warmer weather. He looked around the room, and in doing so, spotted his friend. He approached her eagerly, not noticing that perhaps she was trying to be stealth. "hey sage," he greeted.

Sage jumped out of her skin, spinning quickly and seeing Henri. She let out a frustrated groan. "Ugh, it's you," She griped. She noted the branches in his hair immediately. Sage sighed. "You idiot. At least take the branches out of your hair." She reached out with the intent to grab them but stopped. "I swear you're more of a beast than a boy."

Henri smiled at her and would've been happy with her taking the branches from his hair, but she stopped. "I was following an ant colony, I wanted to see just how many there were, and like where they were living," he told her as if it was obvious. "But, I lost them, and then it got dark and I got hungry but...," he then motioned to the room, he was sure there was a snack table somewhere, but he was with a friend. "Got any snacks on you?"

Sage stared at him a moment, not sure how stupid he could really be, before sighing deeply. She took one of her on-the-go snacks from her pocket and tossed it to him- it was just a simple bag of nut mix. "You're an idiot." She scolded. "Do you have a death wish? No sense of self preservation?" She rolled her eyes.

Henri caught the snacks that were tossed to him and opened the bag, sticking a few in his mouth. "Is this where I joke that I'm deathly allergic to nuts?" he said, joking, he wasn't actually, but wanted to tease Sage lightly. "I don't have a death wish, though, just curiosity,"

Sage rolled her eyes. "Then you couldn't have picked a more public place for your demise," She looked around. "I'm sure I could find your sister somewhere," She turned back to him, with a brow raised. "Oh, okay, so you're just stupid." She countered bluntly. "It's a miracle you haven't hurt yourself yet."
