Touching back down to the ground after quidditch practice boded the same feeling as skydiving back to reality. Miro felt himself being grounded, back to the rest of his day that had been suspended for a few hours. It was a feeling he never necessarily enjoyed, the return to the rest of his life a reminder he had other things to do with his day, studies to catch up on, classes to attend, but it was one he couldn't avoid despite his many efforts over the years to do so. He did however always take his time to leave the pitch when practice was over so he could spend a little more time in his favorite place in the castle, the only place he didn't entirely feel inadequate. Really, deep down Miro should have felt inadequate, being either unable to hit bludgers entirely or hitting them in the entire wrong direction that day. Though he still felt some sense of accomplishment, because while hitting bludgers in the wrong direction wasn't his goal it was an improvement on spending practices hitting nothing at all and feeling like an outlier to the rest of the quidditch team. It was a sign that over time, and with every effort he was making he was slowly improving as a beater.

After changing out of his quidditch gear and with the previous practice in mind, it almost felt funny to spot Teddy nearby, both one of the team's captains and one of the unfortunate recipients of his misdirected bludgers. Miro cringed slightly to himself at how guilty he felt inflicting pain on one of the captains entirely accidentally, following the compulsion in his mind to approach Teddy and apologize even if he felt slightly embarrassed. "Hey, Teddy." He greeted gently. "Sorry about the bludger, I did try to hit it to one of the seekers, but those crazy things have a mind of their own, I dunno. I hope I can get better." He managed to say, kicking at the ground beneath his shoes and hoping Teddy didn't hold the bludger hit against him. It would certainly make their next game and practices awkward if he did.

Teddy had just finished packing away the Quidditch gear and wrapping up with the supervising professor when he spotted Miro. “Hey, Miro!” he called, a cheerful smile spreading across his face. He’d always gotten along with him. When Miro apologised, Teddy waved it off, shaking his head.

“Miro, it’s fine. I’ve been part of the team since I was twelve and have been hit by enough bludgers to know how it goes,” he said, his grin making it clear he wasn’t upset, far from it and if anything he was proud of his teammate. “You’re improving loads,” he added encouragingly, though Teddy himself didn’t cover much ground on the pitch and was probably the easiest target but he decided not to share those thoughts right now.

Miro couldn't help but feel his face begin to flush as Teddy reassured him everything was fine; that the bludger hit was part of practice and something he had gotten used to in his many years of flying. Somehow it only added to how bashful and embarrassed Miro felt, because he in turn felt silly for apologizing, the surge of feelings causing his palms to sweat and Miro as a result move to clasp his hands behind his back to try not to show it. "I dunno, I just feel bad, you know?" He tried to explain. "No one expects a bludger hit especially when we're trying to aim for the seekers." Miro added, shaking his head slightly as if trying to rid his feelings of embarrassment from his mind and return to his usual confidence.

"Anyway I'm gonna continue practicing and hopefully by our game I'll be hitting the seeker!" Before Gryffindor's first game, Miro did want to do all he could to improve to both impress Teddy and of course for the sake of their teams success. Miro hoped and dreamed the quidditch cup would belong to Gryffindor by the end of that year, and wanted to do play his best to help achieve that dream. Miro did also feel a bit out of place though with little else to talk about, so a moment later he then looked to their surroundings and back to Teddy. "Are you all done with packing away the practice stuff? Did you need help with any of the other gear?" Miro asked gently, both from his desire to want to help but also in trying to find any excuse to spend more time with Teddy who he greatly admired.

Teddy gave Miro a crooked smile, "I think we're all looking out for bludgers." The flush in Miro’s cheeks hadn’t gone unnoticed, and it made Teddy’s stomach do this strange, unexpected little flip. He wasn’t sure what to make of it, so he ignored it. “You’ve got a solid swing though, I have no doubt you'll smash it by the time the match rolls around.” Teddy waited a beat then asked, "What do you think about Gryffindor's chances this season, huh?”

He gave Miro an encouraging nod, then paused when he asked about the gear. “Nah, its okay,” Teddy replied, “But if you're okay sticking around five minutes then I can walk back up to the castle with you?” He tossed the words casually, but he kind of liked Miro's company and hopefully he'll stay while Teddy finished up.

Miro knew a decent amount about quidditch, knew which professional teams won and which didn't, knew what each role on the team meant and understood that 'strategies' were important for the game in the way many quidditch fans would. However when it game to unraveling what a real strategy was or determining odds, anything that required calculations and implementation of the knowledge he had from only his love of the game itself, he had to admit he was entirely lost. This and the fact he felt a bit bashful in Teddy's presence meant Teddy's question about Gryffindor's chances that season had caught Miro entirely off guard, throwing him into a bit of an embarrassed loop as he tried to piece together an answer. "Um, well, I want us to win, I hope we will win! You and Fraser are great captains." He answered in an attempt to seem like he knew what he was talking about, his usual arrogance in assuming they would win and thinking he knew they would win being forgotten amongst his other thoughts. "I want us to win and I think we deserve it." He added a moment later with a nod, hoping his would fair as an okay answer to Teddy.

He was thankful when the subject changed and Teddy explained they didn't need to pack up but could walk back to the castle together. Miro nodded happily, hoping the five minutes it would take them to walk to the castle could be delayed if they walked slowly and continued to talk. Miro wanted whatever conversation he was having with Teddy to last as long as possible, and preemptively tried to think of different questions he could ask the other Gryffindor in an attempt to get to know him better. "I'd love to walk back to the castle with you!" Miro exclaimed. "I have other questions for you that aren't really about quidditch and stuff." He added a moment later, hoping he wasn't overstepping some unsaid boundary in wanting to talk about other things than quidditch with the captain.
