Transfiguration 2:5

Lesson Five: Learning Torte (teapot into a turtle)
Leif was just putting away some of the paperwork from his other class when his second years slowly started to find their way into his classroom. "Good morning!" He greeted them brightly. He had promised them last week that the upcoming lessons would be more exciting. A promise he meant to keep. Also one he was sure the kids remembered. "Wands out! Just leave it be untill I say so, thank you." He told them, keeping an eye out for anyone picking up their wand when they weren't supposed to yet. "Today I would like you to try out inanimate to animate transfiguration for yourselves." Leif grinned, waving his own wand towards his desk to make a set of teapots of varying shapes, colours and seizes appear.

"That was a conjuring spell, by the way, but you won't learn it until at least sixth year. Sorry." He explained, picking up a teapot and holding it above his head. "You will each turn one of these decorative teapots into a tortoise. I want you all to be very careful when performing this spell. I will be taking points off of your grade if the tortoise breathes steam or has ceramic tiles on its shell. Patterns are fine, but I don't want to see actual porcelain left over. We're focusing on a complete transformation."

Leif placed a teapot, one with a bright orange, funky pattern, onto the surface of his desk. "Torte!" He spoke the incantation clearly so his students could hear. With a poof, the teapot changed into a large tortoise, now brown and green in colour. "The incantation, as you just heard, is Torte. Please repeat after me." He had his students repeat the incantation once before nodding his head in approval. "Come one by one and take a teapot. It's about time you gave it a try!" Once everyone had got a teapot, he added, "When class ends, please bring your tortoise up to the front of the classroom for grading. Have fun, but remember to focus."

Roleplay attempting to turn your teapot into a turtle. A succesfull transformation will earn full marks.

Transfiguration was always a challenge, but one Kyousuke relished. He was pleased they'd be using their wands today. It was an opportunity to prove himself. Watching the professor conjure teapots, Kyousuke looked over for one he liked the look of most. He took a rather plain ceramic one in a dark green and brought it back to his desk. Kyousuke considered it for a moment, concentrating on how he'd envision the tortoise. "Torte," he said in a strong tone of voice, and immediately the teapot transformed into a dark green tortoise, matching the shade of the teapot. It's eye lazily focused on Kyousuke as Kyousuke smiled triumphantly. He took his tortoise up to the professor for grading, pleased with his performance.

Apolline was doing her best to keep on top of her studying, but second year was not as easy as her first had been. It was a little more difficult and she was struggling just a little to keep on top of things and also still actually enjoy herself. It wasn’t proving to be impossible, just she had to dedicate a little more time to revising, but she would do it, for the goal of the house points and to show that she was a good student, to not let her mother down. She grabbed the few things she needed to and then headed out of the room.

Apolline walked into the transfiguration classroom and took her usual spot in the room. She was eager to see what they would be covering. She had her wand down in front of him. She wanted to learn how to do the conjuring spell the professor had just done. That seemed pretty amazing. She wanted that a lot. The gryffindor was disappointed that obviously that was a spell they’d learn much much later. That this lesson would have them turning teapots into turtles. She took one of the teapots, after the professor’s lecture about how the spell worked. She then took her wand and then pointed it at the teapot and said, ”Torte,” nothing happened, and much to Apolline’s frustration it took her most of the lesson to get the spell to work, but by the end of the lesson, she had a tortoise.

Summer took her place in the transfiguration classroom and rested her chin on her hand, waiting to hear what professor Odegard had to tell them. She watched as he demonstrated turning a teapot into a tortoise, quite impressed by the whole idea. Transfiguration at the very least was a little fun. Once they were allowed to get to practicing themselves she imagined a cute, small little tortoise and tried her best not to make the vision in her head too intricate. It took her a couple of tries before she got the spell to work, but when it did she watched as her teapot changed shapes. The tortoise was cute and she couldn't find any oddities while she examined it so was glad to hand it in at the professor's desk so he could turn it back into a teapot.
