Kishen sighed as he took a seat at the Slytherin House table in the Great Hall. He was very tired, and he did not want to go to classes later on today. He grabbed a plate and began piling food on top of his plate. He didn't have a lot of time, so he was making a bit of a mess.

Vi sat across from the table, near where most first and second years were situated. While everyone was eating, Vi poked at her food with a fork. Vi looked up when another join their table and started piling up on their plate and creating a mess. "Do you know how to use a fork properly, or no?"

Kishen looked at the girl who spoke to him and rolled his eyes. He did not have time for people to give him attitude, so he just ignored her and went back to his food, cutting up a baked potato into cubes. He did not who she thought she was talking to.

Kaye was busy eating herself when a first year spoke up. The eleven year old's eyebrows lifted at her words and she kept half her attention on them to hear what might happen.

Vi moved her plate down, away from the messy boy. Honestly, did anyone teach the boy how to eat she wonder in silence. Vi glanced at another, a first year like herself. "Hi, do you know it's rude to stare for a long period of time?"

Kaye hadn't realized she was still staring or that she had somehow managed to offend the girl. "Did you know that complaining about everything takes off years from your life?" she replied cooly.

Kishen liked to avoid conflict. But he could not help himself. "Can't we just eat in peace. This is all really unnecessary." he said in an annoyed tone.

Vi blinked her eyes, "Where did you hear that from? Your mom?" she responded coolly. "I would eat in peace if you weren't so messy. Do you need a bib?"

Kishen was getting very annoyed. He did not like this situation at all. "You moved down, didn't you? Get over yourself." he said before he flipped his plate of food and got up from the table and began to walk away. What he just did was very rash, but in the moment, Kishen did not care.

"Actually, yes" she replied. Before she could say more, the boy flipped his plate of food, causing Kaye to startle. "Wow, that was a bit much" she muttered after a few silent moments before picking her fork back up.

"Tell me about it," Vi could not help but agree with her fellow first year. She rolled her dark brown eyes as his plate was scrapped by invisible force, no doubt it was a house elf picking up after the hot headed boy. "He not in our year, right?"

Kaye considered for a moment and then shook her head. "I don't remember him from the sorting ceremony" she stated.

"Good, don't need that mess in our classes anyways," Vi commented bitterly. "What's your name, I'm Vi," she introduced herself. Not typical of her to make conversation, Vi decided their mutual dislike for the boy calls for it.
