Delilah had penned a letter to Jay during class, her smooth and easy calligraphic writing was abnormally shaky from her anxiety. She'd asked him to meet her by the lake after lunch. As she wasn't hungry, the American just changed out of her uniform and into just a simple pair of jeans and a top, she wanted to feel comfortable in what she was wearing when she was having a certain conversation with her friend. The Ravenclaw walked down early, hoping that being outside would refocus her. Lately she'd felt like she was acting illogical about everything and she couldn't stand it any longer. Delilah was taciturn with her feelings most times, to keep any turmoil from anyone else, but she needed to get this off of her chest and to discuss this with Jay Bennet.

The more she thought about it, however, the more stressed she became. She liked the Hufflepuff but with the history that his uncle had with her late sister, it was uncomfortable territory so open, thorough and logical discussion would be the only way to solve this. At least that was what Delilah Richarde believed. The dark haired girl sat down on a bench and firmly pressed the heels of her shoes into the ground. Just to give her hands something to do, she took out her wand and started to twirl it between her fingers. Whilst doing this, she glanced around her. The lake was very pretty but she couldn't help but wonder if people actually swam in it. There must be merpeople there and they were not the nicest, from what she read. The Ravenclaw could never hazard it because she was constantly looking out. She was forever expecting to die young with Julia dying at sixteen and Alexis only a few years later. Why would she want to tempt fate?

Somehow, with all her fears and reluctance to a great many things, Delilah managed to find a friend in Jay Bennet. He was decidedly more out-going and exciting than she was but she tried to keep up with him when she could. There were even a few times when he went onto her level and she appreciated every second of it. The way he actually seemed interested in what she had to say about certain topics made her especially grateful to have him there. So why was she about to ruin it with romantic feelings? Well... Delilah wasn't certain but lately she wasn't certain of anything so here she was, waiting for Jay to attempt to become certain of herself and of him.
