Yellow rose for @Emilia Manning

Maddy was pretty sure the next person on her list was a Hufflepuff, and she hadn’t been up to their common room yet today, so she headed that way. Totara was getting tired by now, and the little dragon perched on her shoulder. Periodically she had to stop him from creeping down into her basket; she couldn’t let him start hoarding the roses again like he had last time. She asked after her target as she went along: “Emilia Manning! Has anyone seen Emilia? Emiiiilliiiiaaaaaa!”

This day was a difficult one for Emilia. All day, she had been reminded of Derek over and over again, which was very difficult for the Hufflepuff. But one bright spot was making it all better, which was the pink rose Shane had sent to her. She had tucked it into her bag, letting it peek out, and checked every few minutes if it was still there. At least someone had thought of her on this day, which made her happy. As she walked along the corridor, she suddenly heard her name called. Turning around, she spotted a young girl who was yelling her name pretty loudly. Hesitating for a moment, Emilia then approached. "I'm Emilia." Was she getting another rose?

Maddy grinned as an older girl came towards her, with a rose already tucked into her bag. She seemed a bit hesitant, but that was okay; Maddy was sure she could encourage her. It might be best to keep Totara at a distance, though. “Hi Emilia! Got a rose for you here!” Maddy took the rose out of her basket, but as she rummaged for the note she felt Totara’s little claws scrabble down her arm again. She paused to put him back on her shoulder, and finally passed Emilia the note.

Emilia gave the younger girl a smile as she confirmed she had a rose for her. "Oh, thank you." She said, taking the rose from the girl. It was yellow, which was both a disappointment and a relief. Emilia read the note too, a smile spreading over her face. She had to give Acacia a big hug later.
