Hoshi was sitting with her feet off the edge of a cliff. She wasn't going to jump. Hoshi would never that stupid to take her own life any more. The outfit she was waring was more than proof. It was Japanese but still gothic in nature. She loved the outfit more than some of her others because she was being herself as well as celebrating where she came from. She started to wonder about the semester ahead. She had something planned but she didn't know if it was going to go as smoothly as she planned.

There was another thing at play here. Sinclair Blaze had somehow taken her heart in a way that none of her boy-toys had taken it. She had had no intentions to do anything with the boy except maybe be his friend but there was something about his subtle kind of darkness that drew her to him. It wasn't the same draw that Henric Lee had had on her. She knew what that was. She felt her heart flutter the same way when she looked at a beautifully carved sword.

This was not the attraction she held for her 'Sin-kun'. Hoshi looked down at the waives crashing below her high heeled feet and sighed. When had she started to grow up like this? She didn't even find the same kind of fun in the Infernal Masquerade that she had found in the beginning of the year. She still liked pranking but she didn't want it to happen the way it had. When she started to make no sense to herself Hoshi stopped. She was going to make her own head hurt. Instead she concentrated on the waived below.

A cold sharp wind swept against Sinclair, almost throwing him down. He had managed to prevent it from happening somehow. This always happened to him; Being capable of doing things that he thought he couldn't do. Sinclair didn't have the confidence because he had never really understood himself. Everything was an abstract. And what is love but another abstract that Sinclair might never decipher. Maybe that was the reason for his old personality. The one week girlfriend that he was so known for. And recently Sinclair had made friend with Hoshi Watanuki, or was it Koshiba? He couldn't remember. The point is, he wasn't sure how to handle her. He had only sighed at the thought of it, Come what may.

Hoshi the gothic girl he had met lying on a tomb, Hoshi whom he met at the dungeons, Hoshi who danced so gracefully in the Yuletide Dance. Snow's comment on her was not good, though. Sinclair saw the self-centered desire there, but he couldn't just ignore what his sister thinks. Even so, can he do it? Reject Hoshi? Reject Hoshi or ignore Snow?

And it seemed like the heavens actually poured down in one great force when Sinclair saw Hoshi along the cliff. She was sitting in a rather odd position. Is she going to take her life? Sinclair ran to her. "Oi!" he shouted, grabbing Hoshi's arm. "Hoshi, are you..?"

Hoshi looked over just as the wind swept through. It made parts of her green tipped hair blow across her face only leaving her pointed eyes unobstructed. The affect had she been looking at herself she would say was beautiful but it was getting in her way. She tucked the parts back behind her ear and smiled wide. "Would you save me if I where, risk falling and the school finding out marred corpses some time later on some distant shore?" She said in a sighing voice as if she where really considering it then laughed.

"Of course not, I just like to sit on the edge. I pick the ones with wide ledges so even if I do fall I can land close then climb my way back up." She said pointing down. She looked at Sinclair then looked down. Suddenly the knot with doubt twisted at her stomach. Would it be a repeat of that windy day she told Henric how she felt about him. It had been desateruse to say the least and later she had cried seemingly endlessly to Sam, her best friend at the time.

Sam was dealing with his own issues and Hoshi wasn't sure that she could cry to any of her other friends. They where great but she wasn't sure. "Come sit with me" She said with a wide smile. She didn't know what she was about to do but she couldn't do nothing about it. She would wing it and let the chips fall where they wanted. After all that was what most of her impromptu pranks went like and they seemed to be the funest of he memories.

"I won't force anyone if they really want to die." Sinclair explained to Hoshi as he sighed. Sinclair knew that his answer was a bit harsh, as though he was only talking to a mere stranger. But it was his way of living. Do you need to lie when you comfort someone? Isn't it that reality is much more comforting and much more to be trusted than things that can never really explain the problem? And it was much better for Hoshi to know what kind of person Sinclair really was. No, not the kind boy with the beautiful face. Beauty is not the only thing used to describe. And sometimes, the ugliness, the weaknesses of people are more correct than the beauty people see in them. "But in my opinion, suicide is nothing but a waste of time. I'd hate you if you die like that, and I would never mourn for that kind of death. But you're not that kind of person, are you, Hoshi? Or so I thought. I don't know you that much."

Sinclair listened to Hoshi's explanation, and even looked at what she pointed down the cliff. It was a relief then that she wasn't really going to kill herself. Sinclair really didn't want to hate her. He didn't want to feel any hatred anymore. All that had happened was enough. But he felt a different air around Hoshi today. Or was it just the cold breeze stinging his pale skin? Sinclair looked up to the bright sky and quickly dropped his gaze. It was irritating once again to look at bright things.

Sinclair declined Hoshi's offer to sit with her. "I grow tired when I sit or lie down." he explained to Hoshi. Oh, the irony of it! Sinclair wondered if she found him weird or something. It's just that he always have the sense to work, to do something fruitful. There was a quote saying, "Live your life as though there won't be a tomorrow." Well, not that he believes it. But he should live life as though there's no tomorrow. That muggle hospital told him so. He's dying. And what did he do but enroll here in Hogwarts to see his little sister once again. But shove those thoughts away. "Why are you sitting here, Hoshi? Is something wrong?"

Hosh listened to Sinclair as he told her what he thought about suicide. Hoshi herself thought it stupid because it denied the person a chance to see how the problem could be solved. There was always a way to fix thing. That was one of the things she learned from her father’s pureblood family. There was always a way to make thing go them to go even if that method was not entirely legal. She forced thoughts of her ill reputed ex-family in the back of her head. She didn’t need to think of them anymore because they were Eden’s problem now.

“Your right I’m not that kind of person. I have too much to live for now.” She said with a bright smile. She loved the fact that she was free to really do whatever she wanted now. There were no family rules to stop her from going where she wanted or being whatever she wanted to be. Hoshi wondered for a moment why Sinclair was looking away from her. In her own opinion she didn’t look that bad but maybe Sinclair though she looked trashy or worse, silly!

She had half a mind to run and re-do everything about herself but then she knew that that would look like so she stayed. “Really? And here I found a way to turn laziness into an art form. Then again it does often turn out to be more work than the thing that I am trying to put off but it is often more fun.” She said laughing. He asked her what was wrong then looked down herself. “I don’t know really.” She said as she looked off into the distance. “I practice out here and come here to think. The roar of the waives below make it seem like I’m not the only one that needs to crash against something a lot of the time.” She said then picked herself up off the edge off the edge of the cliff.

“I’m happier than I have been in a long time but then there’s a doubt that’s bugging me you know.” She then noticed that she failed to mention what she practiced. Then again Hoshi didn’t often tell people that she was skilled in the basics of many martial arts. People found out when they suddenly got a tap to the back of the head that they didn’t see. Hoshi walked closer to Sinclair and looked into his eyes even though he was looking down. “Would you hate me forever if I told you that even though we have only known each other for a short time that I have fallen in love with you?” She asked. She thought that she might as well. Hoshi was not one to put things off for too long really. She found it a waist to wonder when she could know.

"Enjoy everything you do without any regrets. So that when you die, when you die..." again, he trailed off. "When you die, you'll know that you lived a happy life." A strange smile played on Sinclair's face. He wasn't really talking about Hoshi now, though he still didn't realize it. "Even though you don't understand much about the world, just keep on moving. Try to do everything... everything in this world." he added and then smiled at Hoshi. "Do you want to accompany me in that adventure?" For a moment, Sinclair gazed at Hoshi, wondering what she would answer. But just then, he laughed. Sinclair laughed and laughed like a child. He'd never laughed this much before. It was just so funny... "Sorry about saying those kind of things. How dreamy they sounded. Please erase that from your memory."

Sinclair didn't clearly understand what Hoshi said about practicing. Maybe she was talking about spells. Sinclair does it too when he has nothing to do, or if it's really needed. There was some kind of pleasure in studying spells. It gives him the feeling that he could do something great despite the illness he was suffering from. But it wasn't just spells, of course. There are many things students can do in Hogwarts. And maybe Hoshi was talking about something else. But Sinclair didn't want to bring the topic up. That's academics again, and he's tired of it.

Hoshi started to talk some more. Sinclair listened intently, though sometimes he couldn't avoid his mind from wondering. There were lots of things he could see in this particular area of the campus, and they give him lots of ideas too. But when Hoshi seemed to confess to Sinclair, he could only stare at her with disbelief. What, he thought his charm disappeared when he transferred school. But here is another girl once again. The thought about love came back to Sinclair. Is this the right time to be serious? He didn't know what to answer. It's true he didn't know Hoshi that much to fall completely in love with her. But of course it would be rude to reject her. So Sinclair had decided. He didn't know if Hoshi was expecting a long reply, but he couldn't think of anything else to answer. "Is that so..." It wasn't a question. Sinclair gazed at the sky as though he didn't really hear Hoshi. "Let's try it then." was all he said, though he meant a lot of things in that small statement.

Hoshi shook her head as she listened to Sinclair she thought that she would be allowed to answer now but then Sinclair started laughing. She could understand why. Not many people thier age thought of enjoying the life that they had. Hoshi had come to that conclution when she was very young because she realized that there would come a time when her life would not be her own but ruled by the politics of her family. "Consider it forgotten." Hoshi said although she had wanted to say that she would join him in any adventure.

She could tell that he knew that she was not talking about academics. Hoshi never really talked about school work because she hardly ever did any. School was long and tidies to her and it had never caught her attention. Hoshi had been accused of being stupid but that was not the case. She was just bored. Hoshi looked out into the horizon again though there seemed to traice of a cloud anywhere. She sighed and looked back.

Hoshi again could tell that she had started to lose him as she was talking but then she did tend to ramble when moments like this happened. For a moment Hoshi thought that she would back to the castle with her heart crushed once more but then Sinclair said that they could give it a try. Hoshi knew that he meant oh so many other things with that but she would take her love for him as one of the things he would give a try. Hoshi wrapped her arms around Sinclair's neck and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you." She said with a wide smile on her face. She walked over to the cliff side and reached down.

Her black parasol had fallen there sometime ago but she had made to move to retrive it until now. She opened it and placed it over Sinclair's head. "Your looking a bit pink and I would never forgive myself if you sunburned because of me." She said knowing how sensitive pail skin was. She laughed then looked over to the dark forest. "You did mention that you wanted an adventure." She said with a wide grin. She gestured with her free hand over to the forest.
