When Two Paths Meet

Dan wandered idly down onto the lakefront. He had been at Hogwarts New Zealand for just over a week now, and still had much of the school to discover. As he sat in his dorm, he glanced out the window. Where today, I wonder. His eyes caught a glimpse of the shimmering water, so he pushed a pair of sunglasses onto his face and grabbed a few things before heading down to the lake. It was almost summer, or so it seemed like with the weather. He smiled and ran his hand through his hair. As he approached the great lake, he took a seat at the edge of the water, gazing far out to the extensive lake.

Bellda had sat and been captivated by the waters, long swift waves, she had forgotten were she was. The wet air around her, fixing her in a haze of indifference. She felt as though plucked from her average daily life, to sit in another. The opposite to what it had been.Another universe, or maybe she hoped for it to happen.

The spring months had been beautiful, like they always were. But she couldn't escape the captivity of the place. Being stuck in one place, just wasn't right for her. She needed new sceneries. New places. New people. But it was ironic how they almost followed her.

Her glaze had moved from the green and turquoise lake to stare at the area around her. Her heart gave a large thump, realizing she wasn't as alone as she had been a few minutes ago. A new presence. She elegantly pushed herself from the rock, her eyes reaching the source. A boy, around her age, watching gazing far out to the lake. Bellda turned and looked at him.

"Hey," she said, smiling sweetly at him.
