JazzyMae sighed as she entered the abandoned classroom. She wanted to study in the Student Lounge, but there were a whole bunch of people laughing and talking loudly. The library was really crowded, and JazzyMae hated crowds, so that would have put her into a bad mood. She would have studied in her dorm, but Angie was a huge distraction. JazzyMae had taken a strange interest in Muggle music. She laid an arm full of books on a table and sat down. She had learned about the cello, flute, violin, drums, bass, piano, and more. She had really taken a interest in guitar. JazzyMae was not very a very musical person, but she loved learning about new things. She had met someone that played the guitar, but she had not seen him often. She wanted to know if he would be willing to show her some things about the guitar.

She opened one of the many books she had and skimmed through the pages. She then started to read from where she left off. JazzyMae was so into her book that she did not notice someone come in.

Damien walked the corridors of the Hogwarts school. He had his guitar strapped around his back and he had a small manuscript and a pencil and rubber in his pocket.THis is how he looked most days when he wasn't going to class.he usuallu brought his guitar everywhere else with him in case a song came to his head.Since returning to school he had filled up one of his manuscipts already and he had sent a letter to his mam to ask her to send him more.It was weird writing a letter to his mam and not his aunt. For the past ten years of his life he had always relied on his aunt who had raised him.But now he actually had parents, they hadn't abandoned him, they just hadn't been able to take care of him so they had given him to his aunt.he had spent most of hid life thinking they had hated him and he had never been good at making friends because he had thought it his parents didn't like him who else would?Another reason for not having many friends was the fact that he had magic and where he was from he had to hide it because everyone would laugh at him and bully him.He had done a goos job of it until some big bully had seen him so magic,he had told Damien that he was a freak and Damien had been so p!ssed that he had punched him and in the end they had both ended in hospital and Damien had a scar going down his back to prove it.he hadn't gone back to school after that, his aunt had taught him. That was why when he had received the letter he hadn't wanted to go because he believed it was the cause of all his misery but after class and some persuasion from his friends he had learned to love magic and was becoming a fast learner. He had made his way along the floor with all the abandoned classrooms.Everywhere else had been crowded so he decided to go here.He opened the door to one and was surprised to see someone else in here as well.As he walked over he recognized her. "Hey"He said smiling sitting down beside her.

After 5 minutes into the book JazzyMae started thinking about other things. The book was one of many biographies about Harry Potter. JazzyMae did not admired Harry Potter like others did. She always payed more attention to Hermione or Ron. When people think of Harry Potter they thought of the wizard who defeated Lord Voldemort, but JazzyMae always thought about the witches and wizards that were always by Harry's side along the way. She hoped she could be a friend like that because supporting people was JazzyMae's specialty. First she had to actually make some friends. She was so busy in thinking that she was startled when someone had sat next to her. She recognized the boy though. She smiled "Hey Damien. What is all that?" she asked pointing at the papers and pencil. She noticed he also had his guitar with him. Almost every time she had seen Damien he had his guitar. It reminded JazzyMae of her and her journal. JazzyMae would not be caught dead without her journal. It held all her emotions, poems, minor notes for classes and occasionally she would draw a few pictures.

Damien looked at all the papers in his hands "Just my music"He said, taking the guitar off his back and putting it in front of him.Guitars ay be light when you hold them for a few minutes but when you walk around with one on your back all the time ,walking long distances,it starts to feel a bit heavy after a while.Since Damien had been doing it for a while now it didn't hurt as bad as it had before but he still rolled his shoulders around after taking it off.He hadn't seen Jazzymae in a while, every time he had met her it had been a brief encounter and he didn't know that much about her and since he was here he was determined to discover more "So how were the holidays?"he asked smiling

JazzyMae just simply nodded. She stared at his guitar for a few moments. The instrument still looked very strange to her. She wanted to hold it, but she was afraid Damien would be protective over his guitar. That would be completely understandable. She watched as Damien rolled his shoulders back. "You know that if you carry too much weight on you back it could delay you getting taller?" she asked. It was hard to tell if JazzyMae actually cared or was just stating a fact. Damien was already taller than her, which was not a surprise to her. Being 4 feet and 9 inches made many people taller than her. Her brothers on the other hand were almost 6 feet tall. It was like she got the short gene and her brothers got thee tall gene. "My holidays? Well, I hung out with my older brother and my mom, and then...," she started to drift off. She was having a hard time at remembering what her holidays were like. She did not exactly have the home life that would make someone go, "Oh cool JazzyMae! You have the best home life ever!". Then she clapped her hands together. "I started to learn Korean." he grinned happily. Learning a different language and culture was like a common family trait. Kennedy liked Spanish, Klaus liked French, and the mother like Italian. "What about your holiday?"

Damien noticed JazzyMae staring at his guitar. He remember that she had never seen one before. It still amazed him that two people he had spoken to had no idea what a guitar was or in Andi's case what music was.It had been a bit difficult to explain but he had gotten through to her.Now he had to get her to sing.Easier said then done as they say.Damien wasn't sure what to say after she had spoken. He didn't know that that could actually happen and he didn't know if she was messing or being serious "Really?"He asked. He was quite tall for his age and he liked being tall.He didn't think carrying his guitar would stunt his growth,it hadn't done so for the past four year so he hoped it didn't start now.Damien waited for her to finished her sentence on what happened during her holidays.Damien wasn't sure what to say about his.Other then the fact that he had found his parents nothing really exciting had happened and he wasn't sure whether JazzyMae wanted to hear about his messed up home life. "Cool"Damien said enthusiastically. He only knew one language and even that wasn't that good.he had never even contemplated learning another language, especially one like Korean. He barely knew where that way, somewhere in Asia he thought. "Well I moved into my moms house"He said,he didn't want to say why ,just that he had."Do you wanna hold the guitar?"He asked

JazzyMae shrugged. "That is what the book said at least. I am pretty short, so I do not want to take any chances that will prevent me from getting taller." she admitted. Her brothers would always tease her about being so short. It was intimidating to have people look down in order to see her. Height was a very emotional topic for her. JazzyMae nodded. "I think it is very cool." she smiled. JazzyMae looked confused when Damien said he moved in with his mother. She did not want to pry, so she forgot that he had said it in the first place. She looked at Damien's guitar and then at him. "Can I? Is it heavy? I don't want to break it." she told Damien. At times things would just slip out of her hands.

Damien nodded,if he were in her shoes he would feel the same way but he still found it hard to believe that carrying something on you shoulders would stunt your growth. How could they prove that?He wouldn't like to short, the amount of teasing he would of gotten back at home wouldn't of been enjoyable.Being small would be a hard thing to be but you have to be patient. "What's it like?"He asked curiously. He would of never thought of learning another language. He was perfectly fine with English and he found that language hard at time never mind a completely different one."No,it's pretty light"He said giving her the guitar. "Just rest it on one of your knees"He said,he hoped she wasn't left handed, because they would be a bit stuck if she was.He was right handed so he had a right handed guitar.

JazzyMae raised an eyebrow to Damien's question. She had Nebr been asked that question before. She found it a bit awkward. "At times it is quite annoying because you are seated behind really tall people. It is scary when you have to always look up to people. It gives my neck cramps sometimes. There are.the benefits though, but I can not think of any at this moment." she made sure she gave Damien a good answer. Most people did not care enough to ask her what it was like being her size. She had actually done a ton of research on height. Sometimes having to much fat prevented growth. JazzyMae's brothers were dancers, so they probably don't have a lot of fat. JazzyMae carefully took the guitar from Damien's hands. She set it on one of her knees, and she made sure she had a good grip on it. "It is pretty light." she smiled at him. To have a guitar in her hands was a strange experience. "How do I make it make noise?" she asked and looked back at the guitar. She ran her free hand over the strings, but nothing happened.

Damien was confused, why was she talking about height. He hadn't asked her about that.Damien realized she must of misunderstood his question. "I meant how was it learning Korean"He said smiling,he was a bit embarrassed that he had to correct her. It's not that he didn't find people's who are small's point of view he just hadn't been asking there and then. "It must be annoying but I'm sure you'll have a growth spurt"He said.Must people had a growth spurt. You just never knew what age you would be or how tall you would end up.Damien made sure she was holding it right and he kneeled in front of her."Well there are two different main ways, you can pluck the string"He said demonstrating by plucking the middle string "Or you can strum"he said wiping his hand down the strings but with more of a push then JazyMae had just done before hand

JazzyMae was slightly embarrassed. She tried her best not to let her embarrassment show. "It is fun. They don't have letters though so, it is pretty hard to write sometimes." she told him. When it came to the topic of her getting taller she was impatient. It was annoying to have to wait for your body to grow when it wants. When she wanted something she wanted it right then and there. It was better if she told herself it wasn't going to happen. Damien looked seriously as Damien explained the ways to make the guitar make sound. She nodded. "Okay, so like this?" and she plucked the first string. She felt the guitar vibrate. The sound must have made the guitar vibrate. She would have to look it up. The strings on the guitar were soft against her fingers. "Don't the strings end up breaking from constant contact with our fingers? Compared to the guitar strings our fingers are quite rough." she asked curiously. She picked a different string and the sound was a bit lower. She hoped she did not sound like a know-it-all or something. She was just curious, and always thirsty for more knowledge. Her questions sometimes got annoying, but she hoped Damien would understand that she did not grow up with instruments like this one.

Damien didn't say anything more.It was an easy mistake to make and he should have made himself more clear.Damien frowned, how could they not have any letters "How don't they have letters?"he asked curiously. He really was at a loss when it came to languages and he definitely wasn't going to be learning Korean any time soon but the fact that they had no letters intrigued him. Damien smiled "Yup,the sound is made by the strings vibrating"He said, that was how music and sound was made, objects vibrating.Damien shrugged,he wasn't sure and he didn't think so "Well I have had mine for about four years and I play it all the time and you still have the same strings as I did when I got it"He said.He didn't think that their fingers would cause any type of damage and you usually played with a pic or your finger nails.Damien usually played with his fingers but he had a guitar pic in his pocket in case his fingers got sore "You can use my guitar pic if you want,it's basically the same as your fingers"He said reaching into his pocket and giving her the blue guitar pic.

"They don't have letter like English. They have symbols and they kind of write in like syllables. It is confusing at first, but I learn fast." she tried her best to explain to Damien. He seemed very confused about the topic. JazzyMae shrugged. She decided to leave the talk about the strings alone. He offered a a small blue thing. She looked at it, and then shook her head. "No thank you." she rejected the offer politely. Small things got dropped if they were in JazzyMae's hand. She plucked the strings from top to bottome. Then from bottom to top. The sounds the guitar made were interesting. She was sure Damien could make better sounds then she could. JazzyMae held the guitar out for Damien to take. Play a song. Please?" she asked. She did not want to sound demanding.

Damien nodded,he kind of understood but he knew he would never be able to l earn a language like that.Too complicated for him.Maybe if he understood languages a bit more he might possibly be able to attempt to learn it but he was pretty satisfied with English and he had a feeling that would be what he would be sticking with."Okay"he said putting the pic back in his pocket. This was his only pic and he didn't want it to get lost. They weren't that expensive to buy but he had had this pic since he had gotten his guitar and he was the sort of person who liked to hold on to things. He watched and listened as she plucked the stings.Damien was surprised when she asked him to play a song but she had never seen one being played before. He racked his brains for something to play. He thought of one,it was an old one from 2011 but he liked it. "i'll play the A-team"He said.He sat back down on the seat and made sure the guitar was in tune.He then began to play and sing

JazzyMae listened to Damien sing and play his guitar. She looked at him with great interest. He had a beautiful singing voice. Sometimes she found herself singing on the way to her next class. Only when she had nothing else to do did she sing, which was very rare. JazzyMae was skilled at keeping herself busy. She had to do it all the time when her brothers were studying, since they were home schooled. When Damien finished she gave him a brief round of applause. "That was great!" she exclaimed happily. She was going to say 'pretty' instead, but she did not think that was the right word. "Did you learn how to play guitar yourself or did you have a teacher?" she asked. She did not have anyone teaching her Korean. She was teaching herself, and it would get confusing for her sometimes.

Damien smiled,"Thanks"He said putting his guitar back down on the ground.Damien wondered was JazzyMae able to sing.Must people were able to but some people just couldn't sing in tune."Well my aunt introduced me to the guitar and I taught myself then"He said picking up the guitar again,he started strumming it again. "Ever had an interest in music?"he asked

JazzyMae nodded. "Oh. Did you start out really bad?" she asked. She then shook her head. She was asking him too many questions. She did not like when her curiosity got the best of her. "You don't have to answer that." she told him and watched him strum the guitar strings. JazzyMae pointed to herself. "Me? Music? Not really, but I guess I sing." she said and started to twirl her hair around her finger. She hoped Damien did not ask her to sing. After seeing Damien play the guitar she wanted to hold it again. "Can I see the guitar again?" she asked.

Damien shook his head,he had never been bad.He had nearly always been able to play,of course at first he hadn't been able to play but once he had got the hang of it he had turned out pretty okay. "It's okay,I didn't necessarily start off bad, once I got the hang of it,I was grand"He said.Damien smiled "Ever try?"He asked,he wouldn't ask her to sing, that was unfair,if she wanted to of course he wouldn't mind if she wanted to."Sure"He said giving it back to her again

JazzyMae nodded. She picked up some of the Korean language from some of her father's asian dramas. Her father was always interested in Kung Fu, karate, Tae kwon do, and martial arts in general. "The Korean alphabet was hard for me to get when I just started out. Now I can almost recite it all without stopping." she said. JazzyMae shrugged. Music was more of her brothers things. She never really practiced her singing because she did not plan on making a career based on it. "Not really. Music and stuff is more of my brothers niche. I am sure they would know a ton more than I do." JazzyMae took the guitar back and set it on her knee. She looked at Damien. "Do you want to teach me a song?" she asked. She thought it would be cool if she was able to play a song on a guitar. She loved to try new things. It helped expand her view on the world.

Damien widened his eyes,he would probably never be able to do that.Maybe if he had gone to proper school and had actually learned something for te first ten years of his life he might actually have an interest in languages but at the moment he was going to stick to English, and even that could b hard with all the silent letters and the different theres.Damien nodded,he had always thought that everyone knew what music was.Music usually played a big part in the lives of the younger generations. It had played a huge part in his not just in playing but in listening too."Sure,do you have any in mind?"He asked

JazzyMae shrugged. "How about something easy?" she suggested. She did not know what she wanted to learn. Whatever Damien was willing to teach her was fine with her. Then the thought of being a second year soon crossed her mind. "Are you excited that we are going to become second years soon?"
