It was 7pm, and Nephrolepis had absolutely nothing to do. She was lost in the castle, yet for once, it didn't bother her at all. As she paced the corridors, only knowing that she was fairly high up, she came across a large, old door. This was nothing new to her; most of the doors in the castle were old and rusty, but she was drawn to it with a curiosity she had not experienced before. How could she resist? Making her way over to it, her shoes silent on the stone floor, she pushed it open with a struggle and peeped round the corner. She couldn't see much, for it was a dark room, but it was obvious that it was not very big at all. She soon realized that in the center of this tiny space, a spiral staircase led upward into a tower. Mouth open in awe, she let the door swing shut behind her and began to take off up the stairs. It was pretty difficult to see where she was going, but she used her hands to brush against the wall, telling her she was heading in the right direction. The stairs were twice as tiring to climb as they were to a normal first year, but something made her keep going, up and up until she finally came across another door. With all her strength, she pushed the door open and felt a breeze against her face instantly. In front of her was a large window looking down on the castle and grounds. Once again, she felt her jaw drop with amazement. Slowly creeping up to the window, careful not to disturb anything, she pressed her hands up against the window. The sheer height of the tower made her feel dizzy, but she stayed exactly where she was, breathing against the window and creating little patches on the window where she had breathed through her nose.

Hope you don't mind if I join you! I thought this was cool. :)

"Good job Angie, you lost."Angie thought to herself. It was only 7pm so she had decided to take a little stroll around the castle. Something told her to ask someone for a map but she had gotten distracted by something else. "SLAM!"the sound of a door swinging shut. Angie kept walking until she came to a large old door, this door looked like really old. She pushed the door open just to see a tiny dark room and a staircase. Angie heard footsteps going up the stairs. Angie quietly walked to the staircase, a spiral staircase at that and took small, soft steps. The door closed behind her with the same loud, "SLAM!". Angie didn't know where this staircase led to but she wanted to see who else was up here. She needed to make a friend anyways. She payed no mind to how many stairs there were because any type of exercise she did made her tired. Angie had been looking at her feet so she didn't see the door at the top of the stairs causing her head to make hard impact with the door. Stumbling back two steps she massaged the top of her head. "Nice one."she thought in her head. Angie walked up to the door and pushed it open with her right shoulder slowly. She felt a cold breeze that reminded her of going to the park with her mother and laying in the meadow near her home with her parents.

Angie wiped a tear from her eye when she saw a girl standing at large window. Her head was pounding from her incident with the door but she still managed to say something to the girl as she let the door shut. "Nice view?"

Nephrolepis found herself being abruptly snapped out of her daydream. She pulled away from the window and whipped around instantly to face whoever had entered. Luckily, though, it was only a student. With no idea if she was allowed in the tower or not, she'd been very worried that a Professor would tell her off. She didn't really mind being told off, but if she could avoid it, she wasn't going to run head first into trouble. Smiling, she turned back to the window. "Yeah, it's lovely," she said softly, gazing outside again. Her grin widened as she looked back out. It was truly beautiful. Nephrolepis could tell that this wouldn't be the only time she spent an evening in the tower. Suddenly, she realised she looked awfully rude. Spinning back round to face the girl, she kept the friendly smile on her face. "I'm Nephy," she explained, not really expecting the girl to introduce herself, but hoping that she would. Some people would just turn and leave now, not wanting to go into an awkward conversation with a stranger. But Nephy hoped that this girl was one who enjoyed those strange silences, the rush of meeting someone new and not knowing what to say. It was what Nephy lived for.

" Her name is Nephy." Angie thought. Angie went to stand next to Nephy. " My name is Angie." Angie smiled at Nephy and then looked out the window and at the castle grounds. Angie had been so nervous about coming to this school because she would have to disappoint her parents. Thinking of her parents made her tear up. She missed them so much it made her want to cry. Angie decided to make conversation. "What house are you in?"

Sorry! I have two accounts and I was logged into the wrong one!

Nephrolepis smiled when the girl came to stand next to her, glad she was no longer having to talk to the glass window. Angie was a nice name - simple and easy to remember, unlike her own. When the girl asked her about her house, Nephy glanced down at her robes. "Gryffindor; exactly where I wanted to be," she replied, her smile widening as she looked at Angie's robes. They clearly showed she was a Hufflepuff, but Nephy decided it would be polite to ask anyway. She had nothing against any of the houses, believeing that they were all equal and that nobody should be judged by their house. Slytherin, she had something against, but she was sure that with time, she'd get past this, too. "What about you?" she asked, remembering to return the question.

It's fine ^_^

"I'm in Hufflepuff. I hope we can get to know each other while we're here." Angie smiled at Nephy. She tried to make a good first impression. Angie's hyper personality usually pushed other people away because she would accidentally say hurtful things. "Are both your parents wizards? Mine are Muggles." it felt weird calling her parents Muggles.

"I hope so," Nephrolepis replied with a friendly grin, and she meant it. This girl seemed lovely, just the sort of person her Father would hate, however. Shrugging this off, she made a mental note that Angie was a muggle-born to avoid confusing her with too many wizarding things for a while. "My Father's a pure blood. My Mother... she's dead," Nephy began to to tear up, though she pressed a sleeve to her eyes and composed herself quickly. "She was a goblin. So I'm half-goblin."

When Nephy said her mother was dead I felt bad for asking the question."Oh, I'm sorry about your mother. Did you know her well?" the look on Nephy's face told Angie she was trying not to cry. She knew that face very well. Everytime Angie thought about her parents she started to tear up. But she'd never experinenced the loss of a loved one. At least not any that were close to her.
