Pearl was back at the school for the day to check up on the hospital wing and to greet the new nurse. This place has been all mine, I wonder how I'll handle sharing the duties Pearl thought while checking up on supplies. Since it was Christmas break most students were at home, which meant that there would almost most certainly be no injury's to take care of. Once Pearl was sure of everything she walked over to the new nurses office and knocked on her door gently.

Joan had been trying to get used to being back at school. Even though she hated going to the doctors herself, working to help others was a different story. She had the chance to clean up the office and add a few decorations so she could feel comfortable. This would be her new home for some time. After setting things down, Joan took a little break. Just as she sat down a knock came from the door.

"Oh...who could that be?"[/b] she said to herself. Joan opened the door. To her relief it was one of the other nurses.

"Hello." she said in a kind voice. "May I help you with something?"

OOC: went away to eat

Pearl smiled at the new nurse as she opened the door, "Just wanted to welcome you to the hospital wing, I'm Pearl, Pearl Kanti" she said extending her hand to the women Well soon to be Pearl Firn she added in her head making her smile grow even more.

(( Joan had Derrik at 13? ))

The lady at the door introduced herself as Pearl Kanti.

"Oh. Nice to meet you. I'm Joan, Joan Agile." Joan extended her hand as well. Joan walked out of her office and closed the door behind her.

"Well this place seems pretty interesting. I can only image what you nurses go through or at least see here." Joan began to see some images in her head. She shook them away quickly. There wasn't a need to lose an apatite now.

Pearl shook Joan's hand, "Agile? Is Derrik Agile your son?" she asked looking at Joan. "Its not all that interesting, just a few students in every now and then with a broken arm or something" Pearl said with a shrug. "Did you work somewhere before as a nurse?" she asked.

"Yes he is. I was hoping to see him but he might be out and about with is friends. Lets hope that he doesn't up here. Probably about the last place I want to see him here." Joan had missed her son. Maybe when she had the chance, she'd get an owl or just find him roaming around in the school.

"No I haven't but I am certified in certain fields of nurse such as broken arms." Great, not only did she just screw up but she just admitted that she hasn't had much experience. What a great way to start off a new job hm?

"Um...how long have you been here? Seems like you might know this place blindfolded." Joan was getting a little nervous. She fixed her hair so it wouldn't be in the way again. Kind of a habit that ran through the family.

Pearl smiled with Joan, "I think hes friends with my daughter, Arisa" Pearl said. She looked at Joan a little uneasy when she said she didn't have any training, and by the looks of it only new basic healing charms, "well you'll learn, Id be happy to teach you anything" Pearl said. "I've been here a year, but I've been a nurse since I left school" she added confidently but not in a braggy way.

"Oh. I see. And could you? That would be wonderful. Congrats with staying the in the field. I'm not a fan of being at the doctors and all but when it comes to helping others, I'll be there and help as much as I can." she said.

Joan opened her office door. "Care to come into my office? I can make a pot of tea if you'd like."

Pearl nodded to Joan, theres ALOT to learn, I hope she sticks with it Pearl thought alot of people don't she added sadly. Pearl played with the chain around her neck absentmindedly, it had a little heart on it with a diamond in the middle that man really does spoil me she thought remembering the diamond necklace he got her when they first started dating. Pearl smiled and walked into Joan's office, "That would be lovely, thank-you" said said looking around, well shes made it her own office already, thats a good start

Joan let Pearl walk into the office and take a seat first. Joan ran off to get her kettle that she had brought from home. She added water and a little spice that she adds to make her tea a little more honey tasting.

Joan let the kettle sit on the little oven in the corner of the room while she sat down in her chair.
"So, you mentioned that your daughter comes here? What does she think of the school?"

"Yes, Arisa, she likes this school, although at first she wished she could go back home to be in a muggle school" Pearl said with a small smile, "what about Derrik? has he said anything about the school?"

When Pearl mentioned Derrik, she didn't know what to say really. Joan hadn't spoke to Derrik since he left for school. The only thing left of Derrik at the muggle house was a note that said that he was accepted to Hogwarts and was already on his way there.

"Actually I haven't heard a word from him since he left for the school. I've been busy with keeping the house clean is quite the load. I've never had the chance to say anything other then that time that I got really sick and I wanted him home until I felt better. I was hoping that I'd either run into him or fake him out into thinking I'm still home and give him a surprise when I run into him."

True she had missed her one and only son. You'd think that she'd put more effort into talking to him but life at home has been tiring. She turned to look at one of the pictures on her desk. Joan smiled and thought how he had been this whole time. Almost forgetting about the tea, Joan snapped back into place and walked toward the kettle. She grabbed some tea cups and poured the tea into each of the cups. She also took out some other ingredients to add. Adding cinnamon and honey she walked back to her desk.

"Tea is done, help yourself out with the ingredients i left out. They're all labeled."

Pearl nodded when Joan said she hadn't had a chance to speak to him, "I understand, you must miss him terribly" Pearl said in a knowing voice I miss my son so much already she thought causing a sharp pain in her heart. Pearl smiled and thanked Joan for the tea before taking a sip, she liked her black right now. "You'll learn to love this place, the kids are mostly great"
