A Charms book tucked under her arm, Aethlinde Arlett walked towards the student lounge. In times like this, it was quieter in the student lounge that in the library and it would be easier for her to study there. And probably practice her spells too while she was at it. She might need to practice her spells from last year too. So the less people watching her, the better. She would have brought her sketchpad and drawing materials too but she knew she would easily get distracted with sketching so it would be better to leave it. And yet, even as she sat on the only available couch, a three-seater one, she still debated with herself whether to stand up and go back to get her stuff which was in her dorm.

After minutes of debating, Aethlinde had finally opened her book on her lap and leaned down to read it, her blonde hair cascading down and providing a curtain for her face and features. She concentrated hard on what she was reading, trying her best to understand what she could although she was having quite the difficulty. In honesty, she was having a harder time concentrating with anything after that incident up in the tree with Havoc. It was disconcerting that he could break her concentration like this. Like now. Her mind and attention was fluttering over to him again. His eyes. And the feel of his lips against hers. She shook her head. She should be concentrating on Charms.

Olivia felt like she was falling behind even though the term had only just started. The Ravenclaw found that the common room was too distracting and the library seemed more like a couples hang out these days which gave her strange feelings of jealous everytime she saw a couple making out behind a book. As if that could hide what they were doing. For Olivia that left only one option the student lounge. The blonde hadn't spent much time there since her first year when she pretty much retreatd into the library. Olivia had begun to venture out more after feeling like she was missing out which was likely the reason she now felt behind.

The corridor leading to the lounge was quiet, with the weather the way it was most students were relaxibg outside so the lounge was fairly quiet which suited Olivia just fine. When she walked inside the lounge she was thankful to find it sparsely populated, there was a girl who looked like she was studying but her hair was covering her face so she couldn't see what she was doing. Olivia took a seat on one of the sofas opened up her potions book.

Aethlinde had to stop herself from slapping her own face whenever her concentration would wander. She had to pay attention to Charms otherwise she would not be able to actually get decent grades again. She wanted to at least get something higher than a P. But it was proving difficult for her when she could barely perform the spells even from first year. Closing her book and settling it on the table in front of her, she decided to try out a spell instead. Bringing out her wand, she stared at the book with determination, her white-blonde hair still framing her face. She pointed out her towards the book and whispered the incantation. The book remained still and the girl pouted. She was already in her second year and yet she couldn't perform the spell on the first try? Aethlinde cleared her throat and said in a louder, less confident tone, "Depulso!" The book moved! And Aeli had just been about to rejoice if it were not for the fact that it was moving way too fast and far for her liking. And heading straight for a blonde girl whom she had noticed earlier. "W-watch out," she squeaked but she doubted it would be heard. It was official. She was the biggest idiot that existed.

Olivia was deep in laser focus mode. A wonderful state where she shut out the world around her and zeroed in on the book she was reading. She had often missed out on making friends because of it, but she had also never failed an exam, so who was the real winner? The Ravenclaw wasn't a big fan of potions but she was still focused on her book, if she understood the theory and practice better than maybe she would be able to slip through the class with decent grades and not feel bad about letting Professor Pendleton down. He was such a fun professor. Suddenly, the girls focus was broken spectacularly by an object flying past her. She looked up, she saw a girl a couple of sofas over, other than herself the girl was the only person in the lounge. It appeared she had sent a book flying over in her direction. Why would she do that? "Would you be careful!" She yelled jumping up to grab the book and dusting it off. "You'll ruin the cover throwing it around like that, what are you trying to do with it anyway?" She asked giving the girl a quizzical look as she looked her over, the appeared to have her wand in hand so maybe she was practicing a spell.
