Alex walked through the forest near the cliffs, wondering what could have possibly happened between his brother and Eden, he didn't know anything right now, he had seen Eden walk into the Common Room earlier bruised, and with torn jeans, and she wouldn't say a word to him, and he couldn't find Lilith to tell him either. Alex sighed, and knew that they were hiding something else about his brother from him, and he probably wouldn't like it one bit.

Alex turned towards the cliff, and headed out over towards the edge, and threw his legs over the side, using his weight to stop himself from toppling over at any sudden gust of wind that was sure to come, he sighed and wondered if his brother had done the unthinkable and become a Death Eater, or whether he was just having a misunderstanding.

Alyss was perched on the edge of the forest, looking straight ahead at the cliffs. She was concentrating so hard that she didn't even notice the boy her age hanging around the same area as her, if she had she would have backed away and gone somewhere else a bit more private. It wasn't that she was a wimp, she wasn't at all, it was just that ever since her father had abused her since she was a little girl she hadn't trusted any boys or men at all, she couldn't stand to be near them at all.

She couldn't show them that though, she had a reputation to uphold, so she used the facade that she had used so much lately, to show the school that she didn't care about anything. She had a natural talent at spells apparently, and so some of the first year students in the school were already afraid of her. Plus, it helped that she was a member of the Dark Elites and the Plastics. Even though the Plastics were weaker than the Dark Elites, no offense to Maddison, it was just Lykke was a better leader. The Dark Elites sole purpose was to weed out those who didn't belong in the school, like the non-Slytherins. There were some Slytherins though that Alyss thought needed to be weeded out though as well. While the Plastics accepted anyone, they just had to like fashion. Alyss would rather hang out with the Dark Elites any day.

She stood up and walked forward two steps, her chocolate brown eyes focused on the cliffs. The wind caused her blonde hair to blow out behind her. She was wearing black jeans with a white short sleeved top. She fingered her name necklace which always hung around her neck, her mother had given her it just before she died. Something slid up her throat, a feeling she had always felt when she thought of her mother. No. She wouldn't cry. Crying was for pathetic wimps, not for her. She was a Slytherin. She was Alyss Summers, even though she hated that last name. It reminded her of her father. He had killed Alyss' mother by accident apparently, her mother had protected her, her father was in a fiery mood and had swooped down on Alyss as usual in the fit of anger, her mother had gotten in the way and the next thing Alyss knew she was looking down at her dead mother.

It was awful, knowing that Alyss' mother had protected her, and Alyss was forced to say that her mother was weak. Her mother sort of was weak as she hadn't left her father no matter what he did to them, but she didn't want to admit that. Alyss' eyes were showing pain, this was the most emotion she had shown in a long time, sometimes she had to come out here so she could show emotion, if anyone in the school had ever seen her show emotion, they would most likely die from shock.

If Alyss had known Alex was out there she wouldn't have shown all this emotion, but she didn't know that he was there.

Alex heard somebody behind him and spun around, hand flying to his wand, he noticed it was merely Alyss, and lowered it, though he kept it out, he didn't want any trouble with her, and with a reputation like hers, he didn't think he would have lasted long in a fight with her, but he would have had a go all the same. Alex sighed, and walked over to her, "What brings you out here today, Alyss? You here to terrorise random people who run around, or are your Dark Elites going to be meeting here and ganging up on a bunch of people?" Alex asked, winking at her.

Alex hadn't know somebody to just wander out onto the cliff, and he hadn't expected anybody like Alyss to end up out here, but it did make sense for somebody like her to just come out here, though he probably would have expected as much, it was a mysterious and dangerous place, she was a mysterious and dangerous person, the pieces fit into the puzzle well enough, but Alex would not let his guard down the whole time he was here with her. "Or are you just here for the scenery?" Alex teased knowing that he would eventually get on her nerves, and that was what he was hoping on.

Alyss hadn't even heard Alex come up from behind her and she jumped slightly and whirled around. Alex. Of course. She backed away from him, she wasn't used to being alone around boys. She couldn't trust a boy at all, any boy whatsoever. She was forced to stop backing away when she had ran into a tree and instead of showing her fear she glared at him instead showing none of the true feeling she was feeling inside. 'Why do you need to know?' She snapped instead, her brown eyes hardening, to cover the emotion that she had just been feeling two minutes ago. Hurt, quickly followed by fury rolled over her. How dare Alex come out here when it was her private time? Hers! No one else's!

The place, despite its darkness and mysteriousness was actually comforting to Alyss and now Alex had ruined it all. She was alone, and so was he. Maybe she could beat him in a fight, her hand slid to her jean pocket and she picked up her wand, drawing it out, and letting it rest in her hand, her hand clenched in a fist around it. If she needed to, she would resort to Muggle fighting, but that was only at a last resort. She wondered briefly what his reaction would be if she had admitted that she was out here for the scenery, but quickly shut that idea down, the word would get out that she was a weak scenery lover, and her reputation would be ruined. Now, more than ever, her reputation was the most important thing of her.

'And what are you doing out here?' She demanded, her chocolate brown eyes glittering in fury.

Alex smirked at her, he could see the fear in her eyes when she had turned around to face him, it seemed she was scared of being alone with him, not that he even cared about her that much, he wouldn't hurt her though. Alex wondered what could possibly have made her scared of him, Alex didn't have a reputation at all, nor did he have many enemies, nor were people even scared of him. Alex chuckled slightly, "I don't need to know anything, but I do want to know why you came along and ruined my day, I was having fun being on my own, you know? And it seems you were as well." Alex said, a ring of defiance in his voice.

Alex glanced around, knowing that there was nobody else around he wouldn't bother to even keep his voice down, if he needed to yell at all that was, he knew that nobody would bother to come out here because most people didn't like getting nearly blown off cliffs, "I'm out here because I wish to be out here, it's none of your business why I am, and if you want to know then maybe you ought to act a little more nicer, aye?" Alex said, answering her demanding tone.

Alyss raised an eyebrow at him. The boy was really annoying her. 'Look, why did you even bother talking to me?' She inquired, rolling her eyes. 'And scare the hell out of me.' She added silently. She was having a good time alone, and she was much happier when she didn't even realise that Alex was out there. Her eyes narrowed at him and she glared, she wished that she could shoot fireballs out of her eyes because that was what she would do right now. 'If only looks could kill.' She thought. She folded her arms defiantly and sneered at him.

She was scared of being alone with him, and he was blocking her from moving anywhere, otherwise she would've moved away from him. Her eyes showed some fear once more before she shut the feeling down once more. She would not show that she was weak! She was being defiant, and she knew it, she hated being alone with him, if only anyone would come and help her. Her eyes glanced to the side, almost willing for a Gryffindork to come out and distract him so she could escape. The thought surprised her, her, Alyss Summers willing someone else to come and save her? She didn't need anyone to help her. She could do that herself. She glared at Alex firmly, she wouldn't tell him anything. 'Well?' She snapped.

Alex chuckled softly. One day she'll learn that not everybody wants to hurt her, and that she can actually have friends, but until that day she wont trust me. Alex thought knowingly. Alex wondered what could possibly have happened to her to make her dislike the male species so much, and he wondered why anybody would have done whatever it was. Alex looked over at her, "I bothered to talk to you, because I wanted to. If you have a problem with my doing so, then don't bother to talk to me either , it's quite simple. But you don't exactly look like you have much brains." Alex teased.

Alex could see her trying to get away, and was wondering how long it would take her to realise that there were paths to the right and the left that would give her a clean getaway, "Well, what? You still trying to intimidate me? I'll admit I've heard of what you have done to OTHER students, but it doesn't intimidate or scare me in the least, you seem to be the person who's scared the most here." Alex said, laughing at her. She was clearly going out of her way to try and scare him, and it wasn't working in the least, she would have to try harder if she hoped to accomplish anything.

Alyss was very observant, she had already noticed that the other two paths were blocked by tree logs, and no first year's levitation spell was that powerful yet, or even two. It would take three or four. So she just gazed at Alex coolly, her eyes narrowed at him. 'I clearly have plenty more brains than you.' She said simply. 'And if you want to talk to me, you must clearly want to be my friend, so therefore you have to earn it.' It was true, Alyss didn't really consider anyone her friend, just merely acquaintances. The only people that were close to her friends were the Dark Elites.

She rose an eyebrow at him disdainfully. She would show him that she wasn't scared, even though she truthfully was. 'Oh really?' She sneered, she was good at being able to tell lies as she was very perceptive and she could tell that Alex was lying. 'So, I suppose you haven't heard what else I've done then.' She said honestly, 'Tell me what you've heard, and I'll tell you the rest and you can spread it around like the good little boy you are.' She said, patting him disdainfully on the head. She would have him make the first move, then she would hurt him as much as she could.

Alex grabbed her arm as she patted him on the head, "I don't remember saying you could touch me, did I?" Alex asked, moving his wand into her face, "You think you're little Ms. Perfect, but I have news for you, I'm NOT scared of you." He said glaring, "Don't underestimate me, Alyss, you know nothing about me, or what I've gone through, or what I could do." Alex said, he knew that she would try and hit him back, and he would be ready for her.

Alex wondered what in the world could have provoked her to even come out here today, he knew she didn't think much of Alex, but he would surprise her, he could match his brother in a fair fight, but if what he suspected about Chase was true, then he wouldn't be able to anymore. Alex would get the truth out of Lilith and Eden, and he would have it once he was done with this girl, she would wish she had never met Alex today.

Alyss glared at Alex and jerked her arm out of his grasp, ignoring the brief sharp pain that resulted from it. 'And don't you touch me.' She hissed, her eyes narrowing in anger. She wouldn't sink down to his level and hurt him as he would just claim self defence and she would be the one to get in trouble. Even though she didn't look it, she was actually rather smart and a formidable opponent, and some people thought just because she was a blonde that she was dumb. She would show them.

She shoved the wand away from her face, and glared at Alex, her wand still gripped tightly into her hand, pointed at Alex now. The wand felt warm in her hand, and it quivered slightly, it too was ready for a fight, but she wouldn't make the first move. 'You think you know so much of me?' She whispered, every single word filled with venom. 'You know nothing about me Blade, nothing.' She wasn't perfect, not even close. And as if he wasn't scared of her, everyone was scared of her.

Alex smirked at her as she tried to make him scared, he knew that she would hide behind a mask, and it would be funny when she came out of it and actually wanted to be friends with him. He raised his eyebrow at her as she shoved his hand away, and knew that she had a deep hatred for him, and that it would be nearly impossible for him to convince her otherwise. Alex chuckled slightly to himself, and went to sit down on a raised root on the other side of the forest, where he was still stopping Alyss from getting away.

Alex wondered what could be going through her mind, and whether they were all feelings of hatred for him, or just a plan to get away. Alex knew that he would have to say something to her eventually, but he just kept his wand pointed at her, and sighed. "You know, Alyss. I'm not really that bad if you get to know me." Alex said, winking at her. He knew that this wouldn't change a thing, but it was always worth a chance, "You can run if you wish to. I wont stop you." He said, sighing at her, knowing that she wouldn't do so. "I am not scared of you, just so you know." Alex said, a look of conviction upon his face, and in his voice.

Alyss really wished that she could hit him or do something to make him regret what he was doing to her, but she knew one thing that she would never want to be friends with him, she would talk Lykke into allowing the other Dark Elites torture him one way or another, but of course, that would only be when she was able to get away. She glared at him as he sat down still blocking her way from getting away. There was one way that she could get away though of course.

She rolled her eyes at him when he told her that he wasn't that bad if she got to know him. 'And why would I want to do that?' She sneered at him, raising an eyebrow at him. She rolled her eyes again when he said he wasn't scared at her, 'Please, just please.' She hissed at him, 'Only wimps run Blade.' She smirked before mock gasping and covering her mouth with her hand. 'Oh wait, that would mean you should run straight away, shouldn't it?' She smirked at him, her eyes glittering with triumph. She pointed her wand discreetly at the log that he was sitting on and whispered quietly enough three spells so he wouldn't hear her. 'Locomotor Mortis.' She moved her wand a little bit before whispering 'Stupefy. Petrificus Totalus.' There was no way that he would be able to dodge them all because she had carefully placed them.

Alex yawned softly, and watched as she cast a few spells at him, he blocked two of them with a quick Protego, but got thrown off the log by the Stupefy. Little *****, she's going to pay for that. Alex chuckled slightly as he thought it. And stood up, walking over to her. "You think you're real funny, don't you?" Alex said, knowing that he was right. Alex wondered if she would ever even learn that life didn't revolve around her, and not everybody was scared of her.

Alex smirked at her, still standing right next to her. "I could stun you, right now, and you wouldn't be able to block it. Do you want me to do that?" He asked, still amused at the fact that she thought that she would be able to beat him in a fight. He knew that she thought she could beat anybody, and that she was some kind of expert at the whole subject of dueling, but she had another thing coming altogether if she thought that was true.

Alex moved away from her, turning his back on her completely, he knew that she would try to take the opportunity to stun him, so he kept his wand close at hand, "Stun me, and I blast you into a tree, got it?" Alex said, smiling maliciously. He knew she would think he wasn't being serious, but Alex would do it, and he could do it. He knew she wouldn't think so though, he turned to her, still smiling maliciously.

Swinging himself up into a tree he settled up there, knowing that she would probably try and get away. She wouldn't be able to see Alex in the foliage of the tree, which provided shelter, and a good chamoflauge for him. Alex chuckled softly in the tree, watching her from above, she would know where he was, but he didn't care, he was at home in the trees, and that was bad news for her.

Alyss smirked to herself as Alex got hit by her stunning spell and her eyes gazed at his eyes steadily, no fear in them as he asked her if she thought she was funny. Honestly, she actually did think she was funny, she knew that she was better than him in spells and duelling and sooner or later he would realise that. Preferable later, it was fun to make them think that they had a chance then beating them.

When he told her he could stun her, and no one would know it fear flashed into her eyes before she quickly covered it up with her Slytherin facade. He was right, no one would know it, and she could be left out here alone, and no one would find her until days later, maybe even weeks later, so when he turned away she let out a tiny sigh of relief before quickly covering up most of it, she wouldn't let him know that he had just scared her. It wouldn't be good for her to be scared, being scared was for wimps.

Her sharp eyes noticed the wand held tightly in his hand, and doubled the grip on hers. She wouldn't let him take it. When he said that if she stunned him, he would blast her into a tree and she had no doubt that he would, no she wouldn't do that same thing again, she would do something else. A slow smirk slid across her face as she watched him climb up into the tree, hiding himself from view, he would have no idea what she was doing, even though she had no doubt he could see her right now, so quickly she masked her smirk and put on a fake scared face.

She sidled to the bottom of the tree, and crouching down so he couldn't see her, and making herself a smaller target, she whispered the bluebell spell, and watched it catch alight on the bottom of the tree, she sidled back to where she was and looked up, trying to find him among the foliage of the tree's leaves.

Alex watched her trying to trick him, and then continue to light the tree on fire. Alex chuckled from above in the tree, and swung himself over to an adjacent tree with strength you wouldn't have expected in somebody so little. Alex chuckled at her, as he could now see her completely, and he had been discreet enough when he swung from tree to tree for her not to have seen him. Alex wouldn't believe that she hadn't glimpsed him jump out of the tree though.

Alex gripped his wand tightly, knowing that she wouldn't expect him to fire at her, but knowing that she would expect something like it coming, just not so soon. Alex winked in her direction, and swung himself into a different tree, wondering what would be going on in her mind, knowing that he had evaded her, and she still had no idea where he was, and he was basically completely hidden from her view in the tree.

Alex wondered what could possibly have possessed her to set a tree on fire, that was just cruel, he wouldn't have been surprised if the tree had come to life and stepped on her. ( xD ) Alex knew that kind of stuff wouldn't have even happened in the wizarding world though, he chuckled, and swung himself out of the tree, landing quietly behind her. "Boo." He whispered in her ear, wondering what she would try to do with him that close to her.

Alyss was gazing at the remains of the tree that she had burnt down and swore when she realised that Alex wasn't there anymore. She glanced around quickly, trying to find him when he found her and whispered in her ear. Her eyes widened and out of reflex, she gripped her wand tighter.

She quickly jabbed her elbow backwards, aiming for his chest, and spinning around shot her leg out, while he was distracted, she backed away from him, before her path was obstructed once more. Figured. Karma wasn't definitely with her today. 'Look, what do you want with me?' She demanded, trying to sound tough as her wand was pointed straight at his chest, she knew if she sent a few stunning spells it would cause some serious harm, but his wand was pointed at her as well.

For once, she wasn't the one in charge here and she knew that, she knew that she and Alex were equally matched and she hated that. 'Honestly,' She rolled her eyes, she hated it when someone tried playing mind games and playing around with her. She preferred the straight forward attack instead.

Alex chuckled at her, knowing that she wasn't enjoying the closeness that they were in right now. Alex knew that she would want to get away from him at the first opportunity that she had, and Alex just wasn't to give her that chance right now. He knew that she would try and hit him from that close proximity, so he blocked both of the attacks aimed at him, and he smiled at her, "You having fun there? It sure seems like that, the amount of times you've failed so far." He said, smirking. Alex enjoyed making her angry at him.

Alex knew she wasn't anything near happy right now, and that only made him feel better. He liked knowing that he was irritating somebody, and that they knew how he felt every day since he had found out about what Chase did, as far as Alex was concerned, Chase was dead to him now. Alex didn't care about anything that would happen to Chase, and he would make sure that he was the one that brought him in after he graduated, he would be an Auror, and he would be the end of Chase's Death Eater career.

Turning to Alyss he stood aside, settling himself down on the ground infront of a tree, "I won't stop you from leaving if you wish to do so." Alex said, raising an eyebrow at her. Alex knew that the only way the two of them would ever be anything near friends, "Look, Alyss. It's no good hating each other. We're both Slytherins here. What's the point of hating each other? We should be friends." Alex said, standing up, and walking off. If she wanted to talk to him, then she would have to follow him, and tell him it herself.

Alyss couldn't believe that she was about to follow him, but her legs were following him and soon she found herself running after him. 'Wait!' She yelled out, as she slowed down as she got nearer to him. He would have to turn around to talk to her. 'Alyss, what are you thinking?' She asked herself. 'You're a Dark Elite, you don't need friends!' It was true, never before out of her house had she wanted friends, all of them had been acquaintances, including the Dark Elites which she had just called Close Acquaintances.

Something was different about Alex though, something that made her heart twinge. It didn't matter about the rumour that he and Lilith Luna were going out but it probably wasn't even true that they were as they were never seen together. What did she care about that though? She was experiencing a feeling that she had never felt before, and a feeling that she never thought that she would feel. Jealousy. 'What? How? Huh?' She asked herself, not even able to form a coherent sentence. Her mind was just a babble right now.

If she did have a crush on Alex, her lips twitched involuntarily as she thought his name, then how could she also feel hatred towards him as he appeared better than her? Of course she knew it wasn't true, but still. How? 'Maybe it will be a love hate relationship,' her mind popped in unhelpfully again. 'You'll probably hate him and love him at the same time. Her eyes flashed furiously, it seemed her mind was picking on her. 'I know how a love hate relationship works!' She thought angrily. Great. She was even hating her mind now and talking to it? Okay. She was officially crazy now.

How could she tell Alex that she was confused right now? She didn't really love him, did she?
