waiting

[Steph Shirley]

Stephanie was in the north tower. She had been coming here since she arrived at Hogwarts yesterday, waiting for her new friend. She'd hoped to bump into Lali casually. Stephanie needed someone to talk to, and Lali was the only person she'd had a good conversation with. Stephanie looked through the window, and sighed. She'd been here for a day now, and already she had been missing her brother and sister. The only company she'd had was her cat.
Her old friend James hadnt arrived yet. She couldnt wait til' she could see him later. Steph suddenly felt quite lonely, and without warning, a single tear rolled down her cheek. 'Maybe this isnt gonna be as enjoyable as i thought.' Stephanie said to herself.

 

[James Abbott]

James was randomly roaming around hogwarts, trying to familiarize it all. He was walking up the north tower when he spotted Steph, she was staring out into the grounds. James hadnt seen her since they spoke at the station two weeks ago. He crept up behind her and whispered 'boo!'

 

[Steph Shirley]

Stephanie was deep in thought, when she heard a familiar voice whisper in her ear, she jumped at turned around. She hugged him quickly, 'James! I thought you wernt getting here til' tonight?'

 

[James Abbott]

James smiled at her, 'Thought id surprise you ' This wasnt the total truth, his new step-mom had insisted he get on the earlier flight here. But James thought it best not to tell Steph this, as he hadnt yet told her about the death of his mother, a month after Stephanie had moved to Canada.

 

[Steph Shirley]

'You surprised me all right! ' Stephanie looked at James, 'So, how'are you? Any news for me?'

 

[James Abbott]

'I, well. Actually i do have something to tell you,' James said in a small voice, 'I suppose you were going to find out soon enough..'

 

[Steph Shirley]

Stephanie looked at her old friend, she was puzzled, and was'nt sure if she wanted to know.
'James, you dont have to tell me if you dont want to, i dont mind.' Steph said.

 

[James Abbott]

'No, Steph you need to know.' He sighed and looked at her, 'My mum, she isnt around anymore. She .. She died, about a month after you went. She had been ill for ages, she just hadnt told us. My dad, the idiot. He married this, this woman. She's horrible, she treats me and Kate like something she found under a rock.'

 

[Steph Shirley]

'James, you should have written to me, i gave you my address! You could have come and stayed with me for a month or so, i cant believe you had to get through this alone, im sorry.' For the first time in her life, Steph didnt know what to say to James.

 

[James Abbott]

James looked at her, and smiled. 'Hey, i prefer to do things alone, you know that. And anyway, mum had a good life didnt she? So have you been into the common room? Its amazing isnt it! C'mon lets go for a walk?'

 

[Steph Shirley]

'Oh all right then.' Steph said, standing up and walking down towards the grounds.

 

[James Abbott]

James followed her, taking out his i-pod and putting the headphones in his ears. He searched for the song he was looking for; Jonas Brothers - goodnight and goodbye.
'Im just gonna listen to this for a little while Steph, is that okay?' He asked.

 

[Steph Shirley]

'Yeah thats fine, il listen to mine.' She smiled, taking out her new colour changing i-pod. She put it in the pockets of her shabby muggle jeans. Singing the lyrics to Miley Cyrus - One in a Million.

 

[James Abbott]

James smiled, and took out a bottle of water.
