Matt sat relaxed on a bench just outside the Hogs Head. His arm streched over the back of seat and his back slid into a slouch. The reason he picked the Hogs Head was because of its quietness, although it was quite dingey he knew it was better than The Three Broomsticks or any of the other bars around the village. Matt hoped that he didn't seem too desperate, it was the day Jenny was allowed out from school and he owled her straight away. Not only did he want to see his friend once more but he also had very exciting news to tell her. He had gotten the record deal and he was trying to word how he would break it to her on the walk into the village.

He was wearing casual outfit and was unsure about bringing the jacket but seeing as the dark greyish clouds formed ahead, he realized he had made the right choice. Matt ran his hand through his chestnut brown hair as he waited for his friend to arrive. He still hadn't properly figured out how to greet her, he wasn't sure wheter or not to blurt it all out or would he buy her a butterbeer first? Matt's deep eyes searched the crowd for that one girl who he wanted to see more then anything, he never really had proper alone time with her since Salem. Jess was basically her stalker for the most part of the Christmas holdiays and Matt was avoiding Jenny subtly at that time. Yet now, he couldn't wait to see her again and it made him think a little, why was he so eager to spend time alone with her? Why was he so determined to lie to Jess about meeting up with Jenny today? And why was it that at every blonde girl her saw in the passing crowd his heart did a skip?

Jenny could not wait to be able to get out of Hogwarts New Zealand. She had been sitting on the edge of her seat all class, she needed to get out of school and fast for she missed Matthew Reed. And when they were given homework and dismissed she waisted no time escaping to her dorm room and changing out of her Hufflepuff robes and into a more comfortable (and still cute) outfit. Her blonde hair was curled messily and she couldn't bring herself to wait to straighten it or do much of anything with it so she simply braided two locks of hair and linked them neatly behind her head then rushed out of the school.

It didn't take long for the excited Hufflepuff to reach Brightstone Village and to the block where the Head's Hog was. She stopped running and came to a leisurely pace so Matthew wouldn't see her running and embarrass her but as she saw a boy's figure that she knew was her friend's she smiled ear to ear with excitement and her steps quickened to a fast walk.

After what felt like forever, Jennifer approached Matthew Reed and didn't wait for him to say anything before she wound her arms around his neck in a tight hug. She rested her head on his shoulder and smiled giddily.

Matthew's chocolate brown eyes searched through the bustling crowd for a sign of Jenny, he glanced at his watch, if she was on time she should be arriving at any moment. Then, he saw her. It was quite easy to spot her. She stuck out from the crowd to him - in a good way. Matt stood up just in time to have her arms thrown around his neck and her head burried into his shoulder. Matt was shocked by the overall greeting but wasn't long in wrapping his own arms around her back and tightly gaving her a squeeze. His arms encased her into what was a comfortable- almost protective- bear hug. He couldn't wipe the handsome smile off of his face, having her in his arms was perfect, even the familiar scent of her hair was perfect.

Reluctantly pulling away, Matt's smile grew wide and his warm eyes danced with excitement. His eyes scanned her face taking in every little detail, it was like he had not seen her in years, it sure felt that way. Realizing that they were staring at each other in silence he simply said "Hey," his voice was its usual charming American accent. Matt didn't know wheter or not to tell her his news yet but he also didn't want to go into the Hogs Head just yet. Standing in the crowd with Jenny was enough, wheter it was in silence or not.

Jenny reveled in the tight hug of her friend, subconsciously taking in his strong scent that his skin let off. Matthew is so good at hugging, she thought with a smile as her lips gently brushed on the skin of his neck. His warmth almost shocked her as her soft lips touched the bare skin and instantly she curled her lips in her mouth sheepishly but still kept close to Matthew until he pulled away from her.

Jennifer's cerulean blue eyes looked deeply into Matthew's blue eyes, finding that she was caught in them not realizing that they were not speaking until he uttered the first word between them. "Hi," she said softly, with the accent of the sister country to her friend's. "I've missed you Matthew," she said as her cheeks began flush with fresh blood as she looked down at her feet nervously.

Matt watched Jenny look at the ground to avoid his eyes, his facial expression was neutral but his thoughts were running riot around his head. "Well.." He said and rubbed the back of his neck shyly, "I did too." He said in a more quiet and softer tone. What he just said was an understatment to how he felt but he didn't want to embarass himself, not in front of Jenny. Matt looked over his shoulder at the Hogs Head and then turned to look back at Jenny. He contemplated telling her his news inside, but he guessed outside would work better. This was big news and he was expecting another hug from Jenny, a hug he was quite looking forward to having.

Matt's neutral expression changed quickly, his eyes had an excited glint in them and his lips spread out into a wide grin as he prepared to tell her his news. "Eh, the reason..well one of the reasons.." Matt trailed off awkwardly before shaking his head, there was no point giving her an explanation. He would just blurt it all out. "We got the record deal J!!" Matt said with a joyous laugh, "We got it! We're recording sometime in the fall of next year!" Matt said quickly, almost as if his words weren't coming out fast enough. Matt's expression didn't falter as he waited for Jenny's reaction.

Jenny's eyebrow quirked upwards curiously as Matthew tried to say something to her but then he cut off and said something that was exactly what she had expected for her friend but something she honestly couldn't comprehend because he was just sixteen and already found himself a career. With excitement for Matthew she wrapped her arms around his shoulders tightly before quickly pulling away and putting hands on his cheeks.

"Congratulations Matty!" Jenny grinned brightly before she claimed his lips as her without realizing what she had done until a long moment after she had initiated the kiss. She pulled away slowly and her mouth fell open in shock at her own actions. "Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god," she said quietly but didn't take her hands away from his cheeks until one went to her forehead at her own stupidity.

"Did I just kiss you?" Jennifer asked looking at Matthew before she shook her head and began talking to herself and Matthew at the same time, "Why would I do that?" She looked down at her feet, with every second her skin burning with embarrassment. Her heart burned quickly as her mind skimmed back to how his lips had felt on hers. They were so, perfectly soft, and there had been a spark of difference between the one she had gave Matthew then any others she had ever shared with Sam.

Shaking her head, Jennifer looked flatly at Matthew, narrowing her eyes on his blue eyes, and said, "Why would I do that? I don't like you." She ignored the pang the punched her in the stomach from the inside out as she spoke the last word.

Matt beamed with pride as Jenny congratulated him, in return he wrapped his large arms around her skinny body. But her next move caught Matt off guard, way off guard. He was unable to close his eyes or even move as she placed her soft lips on his. The touch of her hands on his cheeks, the touch of their lips, it sent an excited rush throughout his body. Matt closed his eyes but she briskly pulled away, his head leaned forward instinctively almost as if to find her lips again. However, he quickly snapped out of it and returned to his normal stance, his eyes open, he stared at Jenny in shock of what just happened between the two friends.

As Jenny flustered about, Matt looked away, he didn't know how to react. She kissed him and he was pretty much about to kiss her back. Jenny? Jenny! He cocked his head up slightly to look at her, he opened his mouth to say something but let out a small silent sigh instead. He felt a mixture of confusion and annoyance at that moment. Confused about how he felt when Jenny kissed him, his long-time friend! And slight annoyance that she would kiss him, now things would be awkward between them and would be for a long time. Matt's eyes looked up from the ground once more as she repeated her question, again.

As she told him that she didn't like him, he shook his head quickly, "No. Of course. I-" He said all too quickly, "I know. I know that." At those last words he slowed down, it all just sunk in. Jenny kissed him and he wasn't going to lie to himself, he liked it. It felt right. But, here she was, denying any feelings for him. He was convinced that Jenny could feel the perfection in their short kiss. It was like a jigsaw fitting into place, his arms around her, holding her, their lips claiming each other. He looked down at Jenny with his wonderful blue eyes, unable to really say anything else on the subject.

Jenny looked at Matthew helplessly as he spoke to her. He was so calm about the stupidist thing she had ever done and it made her wonder why he was not as stressed as she was about this. "Matthew?" she asked cautiously. "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean anything by it," she said putting a nervous hand on his bicep before she snapped it back as she felt a rush of electricity run through her body.

Jennifer Wilkonson might have really liked the sense that she had gotten from the touch but there was absolutely no way that she was going to admit that to herself. She was a stubborn little Hufflepuff and was afraid of such emotions, they were not all new but there was a side of them that was and she didn't want to loose her best friend by doing this. With a swirling mind, Jenn began to feel dizzy and really very unhappy so she stepped back from Matthew nervously.

You truly are a blonde, Jennifer thought angrily at herself before her flight instinct kicked in and she muttered, "Sorry," before she began rushing off.

sorry that was a little lame and a short topic unless you want to do something about it. matt could run after her? or jess could find out and j/j could rp together.

Matthew looked at Jenny as she apoligised for what she done, yet he didn't say anything in return. Her touch on his arm made him clench automatically. He looked at her hand on his arm before she took it away quickly. Then out of a nowhere she rushed off. Matt took a large step forward and called, "Jenny?" loudly into the crowd. He could see her run from him yet he did nothing about it. He couldn't bring himself to run after her. He brought his hand to the back of his head and grabbed some strands of hair while looking away in confusion. Matt knew it was too late now, she was gone. Besides, running after her would seem desperate? The next time he would see her would be the holidays so things would have blown over by then? Matt stepped back into the bench and sat down in fustration. His shoulders were hunched and his head hung low. This day had turned out to be the exact opposite of what he hoped it to be.

(What about a J/J RP? :r )
