Stefan gave a small smile to the girl as she gave her name, Kate. He was sure she was in some of his classes.
She seemed a little familiar but Stefan could never be certain. He tended to remember those that he met. But
He didn't really care, if they had met before, the girl, kate, too had forgotten. He looked up at the sky, and
shrugged, he didn't know what a nice night was. It was dark, and he could barely make out anything. The stars
were not something Stefan could easily see, not with a nearby street lamp. But, Stefan wasn't bothered. It was
more like that it was the colours the sun made while setting that made it a nice night. That and the heat. Stefan
only saw the sky getting darker, and it getting more difficult for him to see what was right in front of him. Stefan
however knew that in a few minutes he would not even need to bother about if he could or couldn't see anything.
Soon he would get into his fathers car, and until school, he wouldn't even see the daylight. Stefan had grown
used to the dark, it was one of the few things that he did not fear as much. yeah, he could barely see, but that
was not a problem. It was quiet, and he knew he was alone in the dark. Alone with his thoughts. Which drifted to
hogwarts and the friends he had made. Lolli, James, Willow. Even though he'd met them all at the most twice,
thinking of them kept him strong. That and then thoughts of his mother. The mother he didn't really know. And
had never met helped him through the nights that even friends could not.
Stefan Archer looked to Kate as she spoke again. Stefan couldn't help but look as he did. It was odd. He thought
that it was perhaps the new black eye, his paleness, his skinniness and cut on his cheek that made him look different.
But this girl thought he looked sad. Very sad. Stefan couldn't help it. He didn't want to go with his dad. He wanted
to turn and run. But he couldn't. He wanted to fill his pockets with snacks but he couldn't. If the girl even had a small
peek into his life she would understand that sad didn't even begin to cover what he felt inside. "Do I?" Stefan
just asked, although his voice showed that he knew he was, but that he was trying to cover it. He shock his head and
attempted to smile at the girl. Although the smile was forced, and his blue eyes gave away the fact that Stefan Archer
was a lot more than just sad. He couldn't help it, although Stefan had no idea about his eyes, they were the little light
into Stefan's soul. His eyes spoke more than he did. Stefan didn't know this. But then how could he, with his eye
sight. "I don't mean to look sad. Really, The darkness, makes it really difficult for me to see. So, I look sad, because
right now, I can barely see." Stefan said, telling some lies and some partial truths. he did not want for this girl to know
much, but he knew she would believe his saddness more if he talked about the colourblindness. And this was something
that Stefan could take about pretty casual. Although it was a constant drain on his life. "I'm colourblind you see. So,
I see only in black, white and shades of grey. Makes it difficult to see at times like this. Did you have a good day in the
village?" Stefan asked quickly trying to move the topic away from him and on to something else. Something that
would mean the girl couldn't continue to look into Stefan and how he acted. And how sad he was. He'd just met her,
and Stefan didn't know if she was trustworthy. It took time for Stefan to trust someone. And he would never speak
about his home, not even to someone he trusted. Not yet. And not for a long time. Stefan knew this to be true.
Trust would come with time, and being open would come with trust, time, and confidence
