Character's Name: Vladimir Volkov (formerly Dragonski)
Character's Birthday: 26th December
Character's Gender: Male
Character's Age: 20

Blood Status: Muggle-Born
Educated At: Hogwarts (formerly Gryffindor House)
Occupation: Professional Quidditch Official (Referee, Commentator, etc.)

Father: Grigor Dragonski (estranged)
Mother: Anastasia Volkov
Stepfather: Zakary Volkov
Half-Brother: Dragomir Volkov

Appearance: Vladimir possesses curly brownish-black hair, paired with piercing golden orbs, and a distinctly swarthy complexion after many hours on the Quidditch pitch under the blazing sun. He stands at around 6'1", has a rangy sort of build, and moves with the loping, bow-legged stride, the trademark of professional Quidditch players who spend too long on their broomsticks. He often wears a jumper, with the hood drawn down low, obscuring his hair and drawing a shadow over his bright irises, which brings them into contrast.

Personality: Perpetually cheerful, always ready with a word of encouragement or a dazzling white smile. Vladimir has been described as "overwhelmingly happy" several times while he was at Hogwarts. By one girl in particular, he was criticized for being "too dazzling, and way too bright". He had a knack for telling uncomfortable truths in a humorous fashion, which he put to good use as a Quidditch Commentator while at Hogwarts and at Durmstrang. His personality was affected by his sudden move back to Bulgaria, and he learned to treasure his friends more, for he might lose them anytime. Since his move back to New Zealand, he has been attempting to relocate his old acquaintances - and one girl in particular, whom he shared his first kiss with, many years ago.

History: Vladimir grew up in Bulgaria, with his now-estranged father, Grigor, and his mother, Anastasia. The three of them made the move to New Zealand shortly after Vladimir turned 11. As both his parents were muggles, it came as a surprise to everybody that Vladimir was a wizard. His mother took it in her stride, saying she would love him for who he was, even if he was a little bit different. His father was less receptive. The sudden move to New Zealand meant that instead of being notified of his magical status by Durmstrang, he instead received the owl from Hogwarts, and thus enrolled at Hogwarts instead of the traditional northern choice. Upon his arrival, he was sorted into Gryffindor, and studied at Hogwarts earnestly, despite his lack of English skills. He presented himself as an ever-cheerful, if somewhat thickly-accented individual, stayed in Hogwarts up till his fourth year, and earned a reputation as the school's first Quidditch Commentator after the interest in the sport was rekindled and the Inter-House Competition was restarted. When he came home after his fourth year, he found his mother and father had a terrible row, and the pair of them had decided to separate for good. With her former husband, now divorced from her, no longer her spouse, Anastasia, Vladimir's mother, had to move back to Bulgaria due to immigration issues. Though Vladimir could have stayed with his father, he decided his mother had greater need of him. Hastily, he moved back to Bulgaria, and completed the rest of his magical education in Durmstrang, leaving behind his friends and old flames at Hogwarts with little warning. While in Durmstrang, he used his commentary skills to quickly befriend many, and after his graduation, he was offered a job with the Bulgarian Quidditch League. Over the years, his mother met someone new, one Zakary Volkov, who happened to be a wizard as well, and eventually married him - causing him to change his patronymic surname to "Volkov" instead of "Dragonski" to support this new marriage, though he did not need to. The two had a son, Dragomir, who was Vladimir's half-brother. Eventually, Zakary was headhunted and offered a job in the Australian Ministry of Magic's Goblin Liaison department, and Vladimir offered a chance to step into the big leagues, to commentate and referee for the International Quidditch Organization. Together, the family moved to Australia, though Vladimir alone soon moved to New Zealand for his work. His half-brother, Dragomir, eventually came of age and had to attend Hogwarts, and so he plays the part of Dragomir's legal guardian as well, while he is required to come to his house for the summer holidays.
