It was the ned of the summer holidays, and tara made her way down to the lake, she had found a spot under the willow at the side of the lake. she had her bag with her with her sketchpad, and pencils, however she hadn't got them out yet she just watched the grounds, and the rest of the student arriving from their summer breaks at home. she was remembering her home. at this time of year it was bitterly cold, yet here she was in her light Shalwar kameez, thee fabric seemed a little rough in this place, but it reminded her of home, so she was wearing it, in fact it was, if she remembered correctly, it was the same Shalwar Kameez she was wearing when she had a surprise visiter, about nine months ago, when her life had changed.

Kayden walked along the Lake humming a tune that was familar to him but no one else around here. He loved to write songs about nature with his sister, but this one was only for him. He came around a willow tree and spotted a girl sitting underneath with a bag next to her. He couldn't place the emotion on her face but she seemed to be deep in thought so he had the intention of just walking by quietly not to interupt her thoughts. That didn't work well when he tripped over a log and fell right over making a loud grunting noise as he connected to the ground. "Ow, where did that come from?" He mumbled his breath staggering from suprise.

Tara was subbenly pulled out of her revalry by the sound of someone near by falling over. she looked around and saw another hufflepuf first year near by. she stood up and went over to help him up. "I dont know where that log came from, but i dont think that it was there a minute ago. she smiled and gave him a hand, "I'm Tara by the way, first year puff like yourself. did you have a good holiday?" she asked.

Kayden looked up and saw it was a fellow hufflepuff like himself. "Kayden Night," he said to her. He pushed the log away with his foot, upset that he had to fall on the ground especially in front of someone. "I didn't really do much, stayed in New Zealand and toured the country, I really like the South Island alot, not that the north island isn't cool," he said unsure where the girl was from, and being his luck it'd be a place he would excidentally insult.

"pleased to meet you Kayden. Tara said as he introduced himself. Tara had only seen the bart of new zealand around hogwarts, brightstone and obsidian harbor, "well i didn't know New zealand had two islands until I started here, but i bet they are both stunning, and i'm Citroen you had a good time. I come from india by the way" she said wondering where he came from.

"They are both very nice," he said the girl, glad she didn't really know about to two islands so he coudn't affend her by liking one more then the other. "India? That's really cool, I'm actually indian as well," he said sitting down eagerly next to her. "Not technically the Indian you're used to but, Native American, which people there call indian, but only half, my father looks more like me then anything else, my sister Georgiana has the dark hair and eyes like our mother who is, was, is, native american," he said quickly through his silent excitement.

Tara was surprised that the boy was an indian, he didn't like indian and didn't sound indian, or dress indian. however when he explained that he was an american indian, she smiled and nodded, she didn't know that the native americans were called indians, but she guessed that they were. "thats interesting, i thought i as the only indian at the school, but apparently not." she said laughing. "what's it like being american indian? she asked, she liked learning about other peoples cultures.

Kayden thought about the question before responding. "It's very unique, my father is christian and english, but my mother's side is native american so we get to different views thrown at us since we were babies and it lets us really think about everything in a deeper way. I mean at the res. the world was created a different way then the bible says. But i'm the only white boy there, I look more like my father then native," he said shrugging his shoulders in embarrasment. He enjoyed being home and being around the others in the tribe and felt like he belonged but it was still odd to him being so pale and not able to tan.
