Ulric is a reserved and quiet boy who is used to trying to go unnoticed and unseen when he wants to. But even when he blends into the background he is always watching and observing others. He is quite scared of strangers and isn't quick to approach or open up to others. He can be a bit clingy at times, if he feels like something belongs to him and its threatened he will fight to keep it. While he doesn't have the cruel streak his siblings have, he is very aware of their methods and won't feel bad about getting back at the people who wrong him. That being said he can be a bit of a push over, knowing it is easier to follow along than to push back. Ulric has a very big fondness for plants and appreciates it is a quiet and meditative hobby. He takes great pride in being able to grow things from tiny seeds into a full and thriving thing, and feeling in control. He especially loves carnivorous plants and has a Venus fly trap he treats more like a pet than a plant. He also love reading about them and being able to identify them with ease, especially poisonous ones and learning what they can do to people.

Ulric Vale is the youngest in his family and the only biological child of Yves and Carine Vale. The Vale family is an odd one that doesn't shy away from darker parts of magic. Growing up as the youngest and weakest of his siblings made him the target of their games which often put him in dangerous or uncomfortable situations. Quickly Ulric learned to use his small size to his advantage and would often hide in places like cupboards where his siblings couldn't reach him, until they started to lock him inside instead.
When his siblings finally went off to school Ulric found some peace and was practically glued to his mother's side as she tended the garden and studied her books. He soon found his own passions for plants and became quite helpful. Until his siblings would return and he had to go back to hiding his most precious things so they wouldn't take them and break them just for fun and to watch him cry.
