Twila Whitlock is the oldest of seven siblings. She grew up feeling like she was lost in the crowd, and she found her escape from the craziness of her house in video games. She became obsessed with them, and decided she wanted nothing more than to be a video game tester. She locked herself in her room for hours every night, perfecting her craft, and often played with her siblings. When she was old enough, she was sent to school. She hated being away from her games, and she decided to pass the time by studying coding.
Once she'd graduated school, Twila got a job with a big video game company and moved on her own to Obsidian Harbour. She got a nice little house, and as it turns out, moved in right next door to Patrick Vernier. The two eventually hit it off, and quickly became best friends. And then, after a while, started dating.
It was much to her surprise, then, when her oldest younger sister showed up at her door toting all of their younger siblings. As it turns out, her parents had another baby after she'd left before deciding that they were done being parents all together and abandoning Tessa with all five of the younger Whitlock siblings.
