Alyss paced back and forth angrily in the Owlery, tears streaming down her face. She should've known that everything seemed too good to be true, especially that someone wanted her in their family. She glanced down at the crumpled letter in her hand as she had scrunched it up and then opened it so many times. 'I should've known better...' She muttered to herself, clenching and unclenching her empty hand. 'Who'd want me?' She wasn't even sure the reason that Axel had changed his mind, and she had read the note a million times to try and find out the answer. She glanced down at it once more to see if it could give her anymore clues of why he changed his mind.

Dear Alyss,

Apologies for the delay on the updates. I have been discussing things with my wife, and there is one issue. My father did research, and it turns out, you had a Veela in the family, making you an eighth Veela. Due to that, the adoption process would be far too much troubling for everyone's sake. After much discussion, you will still be welcome here until you graduate. We may not have as much prejudicy against half-bloods, but we are extremely strict on creatures, no matter the amount of creature blood in the person (though consider yourself lucky that you are not a werewolf as they are immediately disposed of).

I will be waiting in my shop for your arrival for the winter holidays, and I will explain to you how we live, what to expect and be expected of you. The bedroom is prepared and everything is set up for your arrival.
