Daniel ventured into Brightstone, a place that for living so close too he didn’t go to an awful lot. Although today he had a reason to go out to the big bad world and fight his shyness. After a while of constant letters back and forth he had finally had the courage to ask Lola to meet with him during the holidays when she had finished school and he wasn’t been forced to study and study and study some more. He loved his parents to death but sometimes they were a bit too much and didn’t get of his back when it came to the whole school thing. He had been lucky to be allowed to be home schooled after he couldn’t tackle a real school but he really wished his parents would let him have some time for himself. Although now that his exams were over and it was the holidays they had allowed him time away from the house, on his own, to meet up with Lola. They seemed to be quite eager about, something about noticing an improvement in him, something he didn’t quite get himself but he didn’t question it as it meant he got to meet up with Lola. It had been a year exactly since the two had met; a strange thing for him to remember sure but it was the day that he had met his first real friend so he found it natural to remember it. Going to the place where they had decided meet, Daniel leaned against the wall as he waited for Lola to show up. He wondered if she would even recognise him. Of course he would recognise her in an instant; it was hard to forget someone so pretty.

So today was the day and Lola Mason was as nervous as a teenage girl could have ever been, but she was excited too. She'd been anxious ever since Daniel had suggested meeting back up again, but now that day was here and her stomach was in knots. Serena had helped her pick out an outfit and done her hair for her and then had sent her out on her merry little way. Now here she was strolling through Brightstone, heading to the meeting place that she and Daniel had agreed upon. Lola situated her satchel and her guitar case back on her shoulder comfortably. As she got nearer the spot she saw him and her heart started to do a real number against her chest wall. Grinning brightly she took a deep breath and walked up to Daniel. "Hey there stranger. Long time no see," she said as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.

Daniel rested his head against the wall and let his chocolate brown eyes look up to the clear Autumn sky. There was a chill in the air but it was at least bearable, he knew that once they started the day they had planned out he wouldn’t feel the cold too much. He wondered what it would be like talking to Lola again, face to face. The first time had been alright if not a bit awkward. Over the letters he had found it easy to reply to her but then he was able to think about what he wanted to say and didn’t have to look at her. Despite the two being friends he was still shy and he was scared that his shyness would overcome him today and Lola would never want to see him again because he was too quiet and awkward around her. Being a teenage boy around a pretty girl was going to make the situation awkward enough without his shyness playing a number on him as well. Hearing a familiar voice Daniel straightened up and stood forward from the wall, letting his eyes land on Lola. Immediately his face broke into a huge grin. “Lola! It’s great to see you again.” he said moving in for a quick hug before stopping himself as he thought it might be too forward for not seeing the girl in so long so half way through the hug he pulled back a bit and instead put his hand out for a handshake. This was not what he needed right now. He felt like slapping himself.

Just as Lola was prepared to return a hug from Daniel he instead stuck his hand out to shake hers. She felt extremely silly now...she'd read that whole thing entirely wrong. Slowly she extended her hand and grabbed his giving it a small shake. "So...urm, how've you been? OWLs go okay?" This was a lot different than writing had been. Everything then had seemed so easy when they were corresponding through letters, but face to face interaction...the brunette had been mad to think that this would be easy for her of all people. As per usual, she fidgeted, readjusting her case on her shoulder once again. Lola bit her lip nervously, wondering if this was how the rest of the day was going to go and desperately hoping that they'd find something to talk about instead of trying to fill the awkward silence that hung thick in the air between them.

"Oh, before I forget," she started as she rummaged in her satchel, pulling out a small piece of multicolored paper with writing on it. "Your ticket as promised," Lola said with a grin.

Daniel regretted the fact that he had pulled away from the hug when he saw that Lola was about to return it. Why did he have to be such a socially awkward teenage boy? He at least thought that with Lola things would be different due to the friendship they had built over their correspondence but he figured that he was just fooling himself. When he acted awkward around people he normally just made himself get more and more detached from them so he wouldn’t have to act like such a fool more than was necessary but there was something about Lola that just made him want to try even harder to get over his awkwardness. He really liked Lola and for the first time in well...ever he felt that she was worth the slight awkwardness and with time he would hopefully get over it. After the lame handshake he raised one of his hands to the back of his neck to rub it with embarrassment. “Uh yeah I’ve been good. The usual I suppose. I’ve been really looking forward to today.” he said with a smile as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and shuffled on his feet a bit. “OWLs were great. Hard as hell but the studying paid off.” he said with a shrug. His parents expected him to get good grades and he was just glad that he did or there would be hell to pay. “What about you?” he asked in return, preferring to listen to Lola instead of talking himself.

When Lola mentioned something and started to rummage through her bag he saw her pull out a small piece of multicoloured paper with writing on it. Taking it in his hand he looked at Lola, his eyebrows frowned; he wasn’t sure what it was. Although when he looked down at it his confusion quickly cleared and his eyes widened with shock. He had never seen an actual Quidditch ticket before and while he knew it was coming he had almost forgotten about it. All he had really focused on about today was seeing Lola again, everything else was just an added bonus. “Oh wow, Lola, this is amazing. Thank you so much again.” he said with a wide grin. This time he went in for a hug and went through with it knowing that Lola wouldn’t have objected the last time. Being so close to her, even for a moment, made him feel weird, nervous maybe he wasn’t sure but after the initial reaction to the strange feeling he began to like it.

Lola's face went pink when he said that he'd been looking forward to today. At least that meant that she wasn't the only one seeing as how she'd been downright giddy since they'd decided to meet up again. She listened as he talked about how well his OWLs had gone and she was happy for him. "I guess all that hard work and nagging your parents had done was worth it in the end then," she said with a sincere smile. When asked about her own exams she replied, "I suppose I did well enough. Scored better than Kat and Serena did so I suppose that's saying something since they both did well on theirs." Looking up into his brown eyes she said meekly, "I've been looking forward to today too."

When Daniel hugged her she returned it with a goofy grin on her face. She'd have to remember to thank Kat a million times over for this. "You're welcome. Serena and her boyfriend will be joining us and Kat said that Serena can take us down after the match to meet the team if you'd like," she informed him, wondering if he'd even be interested in that. Once more she readjusted her case and her satchel on her shoulder. "So other than the game what else did you have in mind for today?"

Daniel had to remind himself to breath, in through the nose, out through the mouth, he reminded himself to stop him hyperventilating or something like it. He hated the fact that he was just so downright shy for if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be getting so easily embarrassed by even looking at Lola, she was just so pretty it was hard not to be. “I suppose.” he said with a shrug of his shoulders. To be fair he probably would have done just as well if his parents hadn’t nagged the absolute hell out of him and he wouldn’t have felt as pressured either. His parents may not have went to a wizarding school but in the muggle world they had gotten really good grades and wanted their son to follow in their footsteps. “That’s great, Lola. Then again you’re a Ravenclaw so it’s really no surprise that you did well.” he said sincerely, from what he knew, Ravenclaws were supposed to be the smart ones. Daniel couldn’t help but beam when Lola told him that she too had been looking forward to today. He was glad that he had asked her via letter though because he never would have been able to do it face to face like they were now, then again he did remember his hand shaking quite a bit.

Begrudgingly, breaking away from the hug Daniel couldn’t stop smiling, screw the rest of the day really just seeing Lola had made him happy. When Lola told him that they would be having company he nodded his head, he honestly didn’t mind there being anyone else there, Lola was the only person he had come to see today so with her being there he would be happy. Although the other bit of news she dropped on him made his eyes widen with shock. “Sweet Merlin. For real?” he asked out of complete and utter shock, today just kept getting better and better. “I would very much like that.” he said, trying to contain his happiness. When Lola asked what else he had in mind for today he smiled softly, figuring that since Lola had went and got the main attraction for the day he would put something to it. “Well I figured food after the game would be a good idea but I know everywhere is packed during the holidays so mum made us a picnic.” he said, hoping she wouldn’t think it was a stupid idea. “She even made her brownies.” he added with the tiniest of smirks remembering the ones he had sent Lola and how she had liked them.

Lola beamed at how excited Daniel seemed at the prospect of meeting her cousins team. She was glad that her cousin was 'famous' and that she had been able to get the tickets and meet-and-greet session arranged for them. When he said what he had planned for the rest of the day she felt her heart swell with happiness. Lola had never been on a picnic before and she was very excited about it. Her eyes got wide and she grinned when he said he brought brownies. "And
you have moved to the top of my favorites list today. Your mom's brownies are absolutely amazing,"
she said feeling a little more relaxed than she had earlier.

Sorry I know it's lame :( My head is killing right now

Daniel couldn’t help but feel nervous after he told Lola what he was putting towards the day. Lola’s contribution was beyond amazing; tickets to a Quidditch game and getting to meet one of the teams and all he had to offer was a pathetic picnic – no matter how good his mother’s brownies were. He regretted even mentioning the idea to Lola, it probably wasn’t even that good of an idea and to be honestly the weather wasn’t exactly perfect for a picnic. Although when she seemed to get excited about it he couldn’t help but smile and feel that weird feeling in his stomach when she told him that he had moved to the top of her favourites list for the day – it made his extremely happy. “Oh I see what it is. You use me for my mum’s brownies.” he said, while he said it in a semi serious tone of voice he couldn’t help but smirk slightly at his words, hoping Lola would take the hint and not know that he was serious. Looking down at his ticket he saw the time and it registered with him that it was almost time for the match. “Should we get going? Wouldn’t want to be late.” he said, excitement lacing his words, he couldn’t believe that he was going to his first Quidditch match; the fact he was going with Lola just made it all the better.

A small smirk played on Lola's lips when he said that she only used him for his mum's brownies. "Hmm, I'm suppose you're right. That's the only reason I agreed to this...I was secretly hoping you'd bring some of those oh so delicious brownies for me," she said jokingly as she nudged him a bit. As Daniel reminded her that it was nearly time for Kat's game to begin she nodded agreeably. "Oi, I suppose you're right. Serena said that she and Harrison would meet us at the edge of the village and take us to the arena by side along apparition so I guess we'd better head that way." The pair wandered to the meeting spot where her cousin and Harrison took them right along to where they were all heading. "Be prepared to be amazed," Lola said excited about everything already.

"So what did you think? How was your very first professional quidditch experience," the brunette asked curiously when she and Daniel were by themselves again. Serena and her boyfriend had dropped them off in Brightstone again before setting off again. She herself had had an absolutely fabulous time and hoped that Daniel had as well. Stopping at a nice little secluded spot Lola asked, "How about here for our picnic?"

Daniel rolled his eyes when Lola got the hint and played along with his false accusations of his mothers’ brownies being the only reason she agreed to meet up with him today. Then again he wouldn’t have exactly minded if that was completely true, he got to meet up with Lola again so he was happy. “You know what? I can live with that.” he said with a grin as he let out a small laugh. When Lola told him that her cousin and her boyfriend were going to meet them at the edge of the Village he nodded his head and set off in that direction. He felt as if could skip to the meeting place he was that excited but thought against it figuring he should save some of his dignity because he didn’t know what to expect at the match, regardless he was beyond excited. When Lola told him to prepare to be amazed he couldn’t really say anything, all he could do was beam like an idiot.
After arriving back at Brightstone Village he thanked Serena and Harrison for apparating them back and forth and set back into the Village with Lola for their picnic. He could still feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins even though the match had ended sometime ago. “It was beyond what I expected!” he exclaimed. “It was so much fun and the anticipation of the actual match was so enthralling.” he went on to say, clearly still excited about it all. When Lola pointed out a spot for their picnic he nodded his head. “Perfect!” he said with a smile as he set down the picnic basket and got out the blanket first and laying it down on the ground before sitting down. “Any preference on what you’d like, mum made more than enough to suit any taste buds.” he said as he took a look into the basket, his mother really went overboard.
