This Story's Going Somewhere

Emme had been claiming that she was studying for the exams. In all truth she was spending more time taking breaks than actually studying. It wasn't that she didn't understand how important the exams were. She understood completely. Emme knew how important her grades were and even how important it was to learn this information for further use. Though at the moment she just couldn't focus.

The Yule ball was coming up and she wasn't sure if Blake was going to ask her. She hoped he would After all they were dating again. Though if not, Emme would go without a date. A twelve year old could if she wanted to.

Though other things besides the yule bal was going through her mind. Emme was thinking about what she was doing over the break and really how the year was half way over and she hadnt been socializing like she would have wanted to.

It seemed that this place was so different than her old home. This second year Ravenclaw didn't see Blake as much, she spent little time on studies, and she didnt' social as much nor did she skip randomly down the hall like she used to.

As Emme stood in the north tower looking out at the view she thought about all these things and more.

Taylor skipped around the castle, being her normal chirpy self.
She hummed an old muggle rock song, her chiming voice not quite managing the rock-ish tune, but she didn't care. She was Taylor Marino, a Gryffindor girl with an innocent face. She had no problems, or at least, she wasn't thinking of them at this moment.

She found herself in a tower, most likely the North one. Tay wasn't any good at directions. She knew she should be doing something, studing, trying to find a date for the Yule Ball, or making up with her sister, but Taylor Marino hadn't had much free time lately.

Tay saw a girl standing alone, her back to Taylor. She walked up to the taller girl, and stood beside her, silent as a statue.

Emme's eyes focused on a the lakefront seeing a few students there fooling around, playing tag or something to that effect. Remembering all the good times Emme had at the lakefront back home. mostly with Blake. Those were the days.Hopefully this school would not change things like that. So far all it had changed is the less time spent with her boy.

Though when Emme seemed to be lost in thought she turned around to notice a younger girl standing there. "Hey" Emme said a bit unsure as to why the girl hadn't spoke up. If it was attempt to scare Emme it failed awfully.

"What brings you up here?" Emme asked as her eyes drifted back to the window and the lakefront.

Taylor couldn't see anything on the ground, as her eyesight wasn't very good, but instead she watched the clouds. These days life at Hogwarts was rather dull, the threat of Failing Exams was looming on all the first years. Tay had never had exams before, so she couldn't understand why people were always reading nowadays.

Taylor turned her head, her ghostly pale face looking straight at the older girl. "Hi.' she murmered. Tay rarely spoke very loud, if people chose not to listen, she couldn't care less.

Tay shrugged. "Trying to get away from the world." she whispered, the wind carrying her words. "You?" she asked, her voice rather emotionless. Taylor couldn't be bothered to sound happy, suddenly she couldn't bring herself to be 'chirpy Taylor Marino' anymore. How depressing, she thought sadly.

Emme listened carefully as the girl spoke. This younger girl was quiet quite the opposite of Emme who was loud and loved to make her impression on people. At least that was how Emme used to be. I haven't changed she thought stubbornly. The person she used to be first year was the person she loved to be. Changing schools wasnt' going to change that no matter what.

"Trying to get away from the world?" Emme repeated. "That is not a happy thought" Emme said smiling slightly. Though she really wasn't in the mood to get brought down. "I'm just thinking about exams, the Yule ball, trying to clear my mind all that" Emme went on.

"So why are you trying to get away from the world" The twelve year old Ravenclaw asked.
