Neita stared at the letter end her hand, her eyes began to water, her body began to shake. She dropped the letter and her body fell to the ground after it, in shock. Neita closed her eyes as the tears flowed freely.
The Note on the Ground said:
Dear Neita

Im so sorry that i have to tell you this this way honey but i didnt know how else to reach you, and i couldnt even figure out how to reach you.
I have devastating news, last week your father was in a car accident, he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and put on life support.
Last night his body gave up and he slipped away from us, quietly and peacefully.
Honey i know this is alot to take in, but i thought you should know before you come, i cant wait to see you, i really need you here. Find out if you can take some time off school, we need to spend this time together.
I love you more than ANYTHING. And your father loved you more than anything, you were his world, his angel, his baby.

I love you Honey,
Be strong!!

Mom

Neita lay on the ground sobbing. She felt an agonizing pain as if her heart had been ripped out. She couldnt imagine her life without her dad. He had been her biggest supporter and her favorite person in the world. Neita just lay there uncontrolably crying her heart out.

Neita was suddenly woken up by the sound of music and found herself on the floor of the owlery, Neita realised she'd cried herself to sleep, she remembered why she'd been crying and the uncontrolable sobs started again. Neita heard the music and remembered the Yule ball, neita thought of still going to try and cheer up, but she knew there was no way she'd be able to stop crying tonight and decided not to go to the ball.

Neita finally stood up and walked over to a window as if in a unbreakable trance, she looked out at the view and imagined her mom alone at home, she imagined her house without her dad and as in really really began to hit her, Neita's vision went black and she felt as if the air around her was gone as if was suffocating. Neita cried out as if her heart had been cut out of her as she mourned the loss of the most important person in her life.

Arisa was going to send a letter to her grandparents to say she would be staying at a friends house for a bit over break. Once she got there she saw Neita crying and a latter on the floor. She picked it up and read it. Once she had read she droped it and rushed over to her and hugged her. "Oh Neita" She cried. She felt so sorry for her friend, she couldnt imagine what it was like to lose a parent and didnt want to ever find out.

Neita was lost in her memories of her father, crying uncontrollably when she suddenly felt arms wrap around her. Shocked Neita turned around and was overwhelmed at realizing it was one of her good friends. Neita hugged her back, tears running down her face, grateful that she wasnt alone on the worst night of her life.

Arisa petted Neita's hair in an attempt to calm her down. "shh" Arisa whispered, she knew it was no good to say everything was going to be all right, it wasnt, not right now anyways.

After awhile Neitas sobs began to quiet down. " 'risa... my dad... he... he... he's" Neita started sobbing loudly again "gonne...." Neita closed her eyes, she hated people seeing her like this.

Arisa just kept petting Neita's hair while crying her self. "I know, i know, i cant imagine how you feel right now, theres a hole in your heart that only time can heal" Arisa replied hoping this wouldnt just make her more upset.

Neita between sobs managed to choke out. "It-it-hurts-s-so-much"
Neita tried her hardest so stop the tears. She pulled away sniffled and whiped her face. She took a look at Arisa's tear stained face and hugged her friend tightly "Thank you soooo much!!" Neita's sniffles contined but quieter than before. "You should be going.. the balls gunna start soon." Neita attempted to smile.

Arisa half smiled. "ive already been, Derrik wanted to leave early" she said helping Neita up. "you should be getting some sleep, if you want i can run down to the hospital wing and get you some calming draught from my mom" Arisa added thinking that she may need it.

Neita felt tired and energy drained from crying for over an hour. Her sobs had slowed and her tears were drying on her face, she was all cried out. "Calming draught sounds good" Neita looked around absently "i'll wait here and try and make myself look more presentable, incase i run into someone on my way back down." Neita walked back over to the window and stared out at the stars as she imagined her dad looking down from them, watching over her. She felt a sudden chill and she smilled out at the stars.

Arisa smiled aat Neita before ducking out of the owlry into a portrait hole and down to her mums office in the hospital wing.
