Amarantha Styx sent notes out to the Mckenna triplets, and Sawyer because she had information that they might be interested in. There was a fee, and luckily, it was not money. It was sweets. Mari had a sweet tooth that nothing could satisfy. For her, information gathering came easy because thanks to her friends, she could pull off the innocent, insecure act and gain people’s trust rather easily. Mari sat Indian style on the floor, on the rug while she waited. She had a secluded area where they would have some privacy. She could not wait until she could cast a spell to prevent others from listening in, but they were first years. Mari clasped her hands together and kept her eyes on the door, waiting for them to arrive.

Amarantha Styx was not her brother. She was nothing like him. This didn't come as a surprise to Rai, a triplet with brothers who were equally different, but it did mean he had to often change tactics when faced with one twin over another. Rai had a healthy fear and respect for Kalif, both by his own name and the fact that he was clearly someone not to mess with, and it was this respect that had led him to Kalif's twin sister, Mari. She was interesting in her own right, though fear was not something he would associate with her, at least, not yet. There were other things that Rai was interested in from her, and with Kalif's blessing, he was going to be her friend. "Mari!" Chocolate frog in hand, Rai spotted the girl in the student lounge, as her note had said, and quickly moved over to sit with her. Roxas and Riku weren't far behind, though he felt Roxas would have little interest in whatever this little meet up was about. "Payment in full, darling." He said, holding the chocolate frog out to her with a cheeky grin.

Roxas didn't really know why he was here. He could have been studying, or doing literally anything else. He did like gossip though, as much as he always said he didn't, and it was easier just to tag along with whatever Rai was talking about than to try and question it. "Hi Mari," he said, waving as he followed his brother to sit with them. He didn't bring any sweets, mostly because he didn't have anything to give her, but if he was told he missed out on gossip because of that he would be a little bit upset.

Riku Mckenna walked into the student lounge, after being summoned by Kalif the Second’s twin sister. Rather than deal with the wrath if Riku denied it, he came along with his other brothers. He had lollipops with him, since he knew what this would be about. Exchanging information, though the payment was not bad. Candy. If he were her, Riku would have charged money. As Riku approached them, he let his hand smack (not hard but not gently) against the back of Roxas’ head. “Oof, my bad,” Riku faked his apology, and did not hide it either. He held out the lollipops toward the Hufflepuff. “Whatcha got, Mari?”

Sawyer reached the Student Lounge and made a beeline for Amarantha and the triplets. The meeting was nothing new, it was not the first time after all that the girl would be providing them with information - or just plain gossip really. Still, it wouldn't do them any good to immediately dismiss information. A network such as this would have to start small, although it would have its more prominent uses eventually. And so, Sawyer did not hesitate to hand over a number of sugar quills to the sole female in the group and curt nods to the triplets as he sat down. He still had two chocolate frogs in his pocket, but those were for if Amarantha's information was really interesting. "Any particularly interesting news this time around?"

With the payments provided to her, with Rai giving her the most coveted treat of hers, Mari felt that her information might not be worth as much as what she had. But, she was certain that her friends might want to know about one of their peers in particular. “Ah, this is good for a solid week.” Mari opened one of the sugar quills and put it to her lips. She waited for the taste to satisfy her before smiling at the boys. “Sawyer and Roxas, sorry but you two might not find this as valuable as Riku and Rai, given that this is about a Slytherin boy. But, you may be entertained anyway.” Mari started as she sucked on the sugar quill for a moment. “What do you guys know about the Slytherin known as Silverback?”

Rain laughed into his hand as Riku accidentally on purpose knocked into Roxas who threw him a sharp glare. Rai didn’t care, that was between them. Brotherly business and all that. His brother Sawyer soon appeared and he nodded quickly at him, though they had a more cousinly relationship, they were still brothers. He looked at Mari as she told them that the information was about a Slytherin and Rai’s curiosity was immediately piqued. One of his roommates had a secret... interesting. “Ah, do tell,” he couldn’t wait to hear this one. “Silverback... that kid that thinks he’s like... the great grandchild of a demon or something... what of him?” Rai didn’t know much about Luxen, only that he was perhaps too big for his breeches, any chance to take the other first year down a peg would be fun. He liked to think he was top of his class or something and looked down his nose at others. What a waste of space. Everyone had their uses, pureblood or not. He didn’t think Silverback had anything to even be superior about. What did his name even mean? Rai’s name meant things, his mother was an Auror and his father held a lot of pull with certain people he needn’t mention, but what did that kid have? Answer, nothing.

Roxas rolled his eyes and glared at his brother when he dropped his hand to whack him in the head. He wasn't surprised, that was the sort of thing he got all the time, and it wasn't near as bad as the cr@p he got from his brothers at home. He shook his head and turned to look at Mari. She had news that was definitely more important to his brothers than to him. Rai especially, given he liked to know things. He was something of a social climber after all, so he really needed to get out there and talk to more people, Roxas thought. He never saw Rai with anyone other than that Kalif kid, Mari's brother and frankly he scared the living daylights out of Roxas. Who knew what kind of person he would turn into, probably like his namesake he assumed.
