Kat had barely made it through another DADA lesson. It was getting harder and harder to make herself get up in the mornings...she just had no energy at all plus the gnawing pain in her stomach was getting worse each day as were the headaches, but after already having been to the hospital wing once (not by choice mind you) she didn't want to have anymore suspicious glances in her direction so she kept her agony to herself much like she had for the greater portion of the year. Pinching the bridge of her nose she leaned up against the wall for support, hoping and praying that her legs wouldn't give out from under her right here in front of everyone.

Chace had never gotten the chance to congratulate Kat after her Quidditch game. He had started to pick up in his classes- his parents had threatened once again to pull him out of school if he kept slacking in his studies- and Defense class was no exception. The Slytherin had full intentions of catching Kat after class, and left the classroom in long, powerful strides, trying to catch up to her before she disappeared.

When he caught sight of her a silly smile erupted onto his features. He was about to bring up the game when he noticed something was up. The Gryffindor girl looked as if she were going to be sick. "Kat, what's wrong?" He said it softly- he didn't want to embarrass her in front of everyone. His emerald eyes were brimming with concern as he looked back to her, his lip twisted with worry.

Oh great Kat thought to herself as she fought to stand up straight, still fighting the feeling that the hall was spinning. She forced a smile on her face, but it was weak at best and even she knew she wasn't fooling anyone. Kat had to keep herself from doubling over as a sharp pain shot through her abdomen, but merely just sucked in a sharp breath and it passed like all the other times. Breathing in and out of her nose a few times she looked at Chace and said shakily, "I...I'm fine. Really, just a little tired is all." Another pain in her stomach hit only this time she couldn't bent over double and groaned loudly. "Yeow!" Oh Merlin Kat please don't puke on his shoes she thought, tears welling up in her eyes.

Chace's expression was set as he looked back to Kat. Despite her attempts to assure him otherwise, he knew that she wasn't going to be fine. He stepped forward a bit, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. He didn't give two shits if Sumner saw him either. After a moment, he looked her straight in the eye. She was obviously in pain- and Chace's first priority was to get her to the hospital wing. He hated to see her suffer, no matter how little. "You're tired, Kat, but you are a lot of other things too." Pushing a halfhearted smile, he added, "How about we take a walk?"

"No. I'll be fine. Just cramps is all," Kat stated adamantly, refusing to make a second trip to the hospital wing. That was the last thing she needed was a bunch of nosy nurses prodding about in her business. Just then another pain filled her stomach this one making her head spin out of control. She took one step forward, trying to get away from Chace and everything went black. Kat's body went limp and fell forward.

Chace knew that arguing with Kat would probably get him nowhere. He had to find some way to get her to the Hospital Wing. The sixteen year old stayed in the girl's immediate vicinity, even though it seemed she had made an attempt to get away. Fear gripped him as Kat lurched forward. Thinking quickly, he stretched out his arms, catching her before she smashed her face on the floor. She had fallen into a dead faint. "Kat," he repeated forcefully, but gained no response. Panicking, he looked around for a person of authority, but none were to be seen. He did the only thing he could think to do. Bringing one arm under her knees and the other behind her shoulders- she was surprisingly light- he made his way to the fourth floor as quickly as possible.
