It had been several days since Jeremy had rolled over and seen a perfectly made bed and a neat section. He'd sat up quickly, rubbing his eyes in disbelief as he realized that Logan had really done it. He'd really picked up and left the school. The Ravenclaw cringed as he recalled the previous week or two when he'd looked up at Logan as he'd sat on the other side of the room. Jeremy had even gone as far as clearing his throat to speak, but words would not come.

For days, Jeremy had spent the time in his room staring at the now empty space, feelings of regret intermixed with anger, frustration and sadness. He'd written countless drafts, most of which he'd burned away. One had seemed just right though, and it was this one that he took to Avalon, his owl, to fly to Logan.

Logan,

I didn't want to believe Georgiana when she told me you were thinking of leaving, but you really did it. You're really gone.

It's gonna suck around here now. I'll have to deal with Professor Sparkles on my own. I know we weren't talking anyway but...well you know.

Anyway, I'm really sorry about everything. Georgiana and I are really trying to get along, and I hope one day we can too.

Starting to settle into his new school, Logan still found himself missing his friends and more so missing Georgie. It had been upsetting for the two to split but he new where she was coming from and just had to get on with his new school life. He had considered writing letters to all his closest friends at Hogwarts but he wasn't sure about hat to write so had put it off for ages. Luckily today he had gotten a letter from his old best friends. This did put a smile on his face as he read it. He knew Jeremy wouldn't not keep in touch, they had known each other for too long for that. Sitting down at the desk beside his bed Logan pulled out his quill and began to write back.

Jeremy

I kinda wish that it wasn't true as well. It feels like i on't have anything anymore. I lost all my friends and Georgie. I miss everyone its so inane how much i miss you all.

Haha she isn't too bad once you get used to her, wait what am i saying i couldn't stand the lady but there are a few annoying professors here too so you not alone really.

Im glad to hear that you two are getting on, Im starting to make a few friends here but im more in to lessons than people right now. Once iv settled down more il try and make friends.

Anyway how are you, hows prefect life treating?

Logan

Jeremy was happy when he saw the return address on the letter that his owl had given him. He had to wait to read it though and it wasn't until he'd finally gone up to his room, later that evening, that he had the chance. Pulling some loose parchment towards him, he scratched out a reply.
Logan,

It's not insane at all. I'd probably feel the same way if I was you. When you say that you've lost Georgie, do you mean that you two have broken it off? I can't believe that, but I bet you two will eventually get back together. Or you'll meet some pretty French girl. I've heard the Beauxbatons girls are prettier than the girls here. Is it true?

Prefect life is fine. The only thing that's really changed is that the professors are a lot nicer when they see the badge. The older kids, especially the Slytherins, are still not afraid of me. It's kind of a pain to be honest.

Everything else is going good. Isn't it great to not have exams until the end of the year? The Yule ball is this week, and I kind of have a date. It's with Sapphire Clow. She's the Hufflepuff girl I sometimes hang around with. I think it'll be kind of fun even if we are just going as friends. Is there some kind of ball over there? What have you got planned for the holidays? I think I'm going to be staying at school.

Jeremy
Finishing up the letter, Jeremy sealed it and went to sleep. The next morning, he went up to the tower and looked for his owl. Clipping the letter to her leg, he watched her fly off.
