The Best Chaser

His sixth flower was for his friend, and he was really excited about seeing him today for a couple of reasons. Again, Tomas stopped a Hufflepuff student to ask if Ethan was inside and if they would be so helpful to tell him that he had a rose for him. Thanking the student as he entered the common room, the boy leaned against the wall and waited for either one of them to step out of the room behind the painting.

The castle at this time of year was usually so busy with everyone running around delivering roses they almost looked like chickens with their heads cut off, squawking out everyone's names to find each other. So Ethan usually liked to spend most of his time in the common room on this day to avoid all the commotion and bumping into all the people. But while in the common room a housemate told him someone was waiting for him outside the common room. Ethan got up and walked out to the hallway and saw his friend Tomas there. "Hey!" he greeted his friend happily, glad to see him. "What's up?" he asked.

Tomas smiled widely when Ethan emerged from behind the painting and pushed himself off the wall he was leaning against. ''Hey dude!'' he replied, ''I got something for you.'' the Gryffindor added while gently shaking the bucket in his hand.

Ethan hadn't immediately seen the roses in Tomas's hands so he was pleasantly surprised when he announced he had something for him and saw the bucket. "Oh cool!" he said excitedly, eager to see who it was from, though he had a good guess who it might be from. He had volunteered to deliver roses before but he hadn't this year, though it was cool to see his friend had done it. "How have you been?" Ethan asked.

He handed the rose together with the note to his Hufflepuff friend and smiled at Ethan when he was asked how he's been. ''You know, homework, Quidditch, all the good stuff.'' Tomas found himself more excited about the homework than ever before, though only because it distracted him from his thoughts about Quidditch. ''What 'bout you, dude? Feels like I haven't seen you in ages.'' he asked in return.
