Nadya Severova could not believe her family. They just packed and went to New Zealand! Like it was nothing! Just yesterday, the brunette was in heavy robes, coats and cloaks galore. Now, she was on the beach with a summer dress draping over her one piece swimsuit. Being by the beach was a good, nurturing spot for her. Nadya sighed before she got her blanket out of her bag, and spreading it over the sand. Her family was in a rental beachhouse and she got to the beach early before they would finish cooking. The wind gusted through her hair, making her brush it behind her ears. Her gray eyes closed for a moment, hearing the waves. As much as she adored Russia, she really liked it hear. She heard that there was a school here. No, she never thought about transferring. It never crossed her mind. She stood up straight and saw a boy walking. He had to be close to her age. Well, people here spoke English, so she had to make sure to remember that. Her English was not the best in the world, but at least she could hold a conversation. "Hey! Are you native here?" She practically shouted it to get the boy's attention. Nadya got along better with boys than girls. Her brother saw to that.

It was a beautiful summer day in New Zealand, so naturally, Lyra had insisted that they all take a day trip to the beach. Link was used to his unusually bossy twin demanding that he do this or that, and he had learned it was best to go along with her. Lyra had packed up the car, and Link had driven. His mother had taught him how to drive the muggle car last year. She had grown up as a muggle and insisted that they knew about the wizarding and muggle worlds. It wasn't as if they could just take their broomsticks to the beach, and Kiera had to work. As soon as they arrived, Lyra had agreed to build sandcastles with Jemma. Link had adamantly refused, insisting that men did not do such things. The sixteen year old had instead headed down the beach dressed in only his swim trunks. He had left his shirt in the car. Link was indeed scouting for a girl to chat up when one practically started shouting at him. The brunette boy grinned as he made his way to where she sat in the sand. "Yeah. For the most part. I guess technically I was born in London, but we do live nearby." he mused out loud. This girl was attractive, and he heard an accent in her voice indicating that she was not native to New Zealand. "Link Potter." he said, hold his hand out to her.

London? Nadya had never been in that area of Europe, but she did wish to go at some point. But her home was always Russia. Plus all the bad things happened over there with Voldemort and whatnot. When he introduced himself to her, that last name rung a bell. Was that? No, that would be impossible. Well, he did come from London. She would take it with a benefit of a doubt and not comment. If he was, then he might be tired of hearing it. Nadya extended her hand to his, and giving it a shake, “Nadya Severova. I’m from Russia and visiting here for the beach while away from school.” Nadya thought that the boy was cute, but then again, she was in a boy crazy mood. She loved herself some brunette boys. Nadya motioned toward the blanket, wondering if he would join her. She sat down herself and brushed her long hair out of her face. She smiled toward him, “Is there a school nearby? Do you play Quidditch?” Nadya loved the sport herself, and played. But the difference here and there was that her school rode on whole trees. Broomsticks and flying on them seemed impractical to her. But she did love the sport, and enjoyed the seeker position. If he played, she bet that he either played chaser or keeper. She could not tell which one by his body build, but it was fun to guess.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Nadya. Mind if I join you?" Link said with a charming smile. He sat down in the sand beside her. The girl was really very attractive. He was certain that flirting with her would be more fun than whatever his sisters were doing which was probably building a sandcastle or something. His green eyes sparkled in the sun as he grinned as she mentioned quidditch. Quidditch was the life blood of his family. They all lived and breathed the sport. Link knew he was going to go play professionally once he left Hogwarts. It was the reason he couldn't care less about his grades. "Yeah. Hogwarts New Zealand isn't too far away. That's where my twin and I go. My little sister is still too young for school. Lyra and i are both on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team though. Do you play?" he asked, interested. Link would always be down to talk about Quidditch with anyone who would listen. "Both my parents played Quidditch professionally. That's what I want to do when I leave school." he said, confidently.

Nadya shook her head, brushing her hair behind her ears. She was glad that her tan skin hid her slight blush well. After all, he was a cute boy, and he was thrilled to be sitting next to her. This was definitely turning out to be a great afternoon. Nadya turned her eyes to stare at the boy as she listened, ensuring that she at least understood what he was saying. This boy, Link, had a twin named Lyra. Both played Quidditch, which only made her smile broaden. She nodded, "I do. I play... Keeper. I was denied seeker but I still love it. Do you guys play on broomsticks? At my school, we fly on actual trees. Very amusing to watch players on sticks." It was as though Link was born to play Quidditch, but Nadya's family was not that much into it like she was. Just thinking of people flying on sticks made her giggle within her mind. She was accustomed to trees, so this was a natural response. "If it is meant, then you will become a star. I aspire to be one too. A player, not a star." Nadya felt that she had to explain since she did not want to seem conceited or full of herself.
