Hands in the pockets of his jeans, Michael made his way down the street of Obsidian harbor. He kept his eye out for anyone that looked interesting, but that wasnt an issue on his mind. He was aiming to keep his mind off everything, he didnt want to think about anything at all. Focusing only on the fall of his feet on the pavement and the summer sun hitting his face, just nicely. Maybe he would go visit Melissa later today, he hadnt seen her in a while, but for now, he kept his chin up as his feet kept taking him down the street. Not a destination in particular in mind, just the journey.

((hope you don't mind my joining))

Cyndi walked down the Harbor enjoying her first week of vacation. A lot of things had changed for her this year- she was now of age and in a few days her parents were going to be moving back to England to be closer to her grandparents. They were leaving their entire house to Cyndi, although they would come back and visit of course.

As she continued to walk, Cyndi noticed a guy up ahead doing pretty much the same thing that she was. From the back, he looked like her friend Bruin, so Cyndi sped up and tapped him on the shoulder. "What are you doing here, Bru?" she asked him.

((Thats fine  ))

Michael felt a tap on his shoulder and someone ask what he was doing here. He didnt recognise the voice so he looked around to see a girl perhaps a little younger than himself. He raised an eyebrow in question, after confirming he had never met this girl before. He stopped walking and cocked his head a little, she was pretty. Michael knew that was the first thing he always looked for in people, but he couldnt help it.

((cool :p ))

As the boy turned around, Cyndi realized that it wasn't Bruin, but it was too late to do anything about it. Her face turned bright red as she saw him raise his eyebrow at her, and what made it worse was that the guy was good-looking and appeared to be older than she was. This guy must think I am such an idiot, Cyndi thought to herself."Oh man...I thought you were someone else" Cyndi explained, "I'm so sorry." She didn't know if she should just walk away or if she should stay and continue to explain herself.

Michael grinned as the girl went red. "Hey its no problem." He kept the grin on his face as he stuck out his hand. "Im not Bru, you can call me Michael." He said in a joking matter. He had nowhere to go and thought he may as well introduce himself, although maybe the girl had somewhere to be. It didnt really matter to Michael either way. "What's a pretty girl like you doing in Obsidian?" He asked anyway.

Cyndi smiled at the guy who introduced himself as Michael. She took his hand and shook it, introducing herself as she did so "I'm Cyndi." With his next question, Cyndi shrugged her shoulders slightly and said, "I'm picking up a few things that I'll need for vacation. She wondered whether he was a student at one of the other wizarding schools or if he wasn't in school anymore. "So, how about you?" she asked. She tried to come up with something better to say, but she was still feeling rather nervous about having a cute guy talking with her.

Michael nodded at her statement, still grinning his famous lazy grin. Vacation, so Michael was pretty sure that meant she was still in school, but he could be wrong. "Im just enjoying time out." Michael answered, he supposed that was his reason. He was a people person, but he lived by himself, so he preferred to get out and socialise in places like Brightstone and Obsidian. He guessed Healer school provided him with something, but other than that, he lacked extreme variety in his life, well you could call the girls he dated variety, or the boys, but either way, that was neither here nor there.

Cyndi pushed her hair out of her face with one hand as she listened to Michael explain what he was doing out. "That's cool" Cyndi said with a nod, "It's a great day to be out here." Ugh...I'm talking to him about the weather, Cyndi thought to herself as she thought of something better to ask him. "I've never seen you around HNZ before, do you go to one of the other wizarding schools?" she asked him.

Michael simply grinned when Cydni spoke of the weather. He allowed a small nod, keeping his eyes fixed on the girl in front of him. She then asked if he went to any other wizarding schools, so he replied with. "I finished school not long ago." Michael said it carefully, not wanting the girl to think he was overly old, because by the sounds of it she was still in school. "You go to HNZ then?" He asked, he had attended it too. "What year and more importantly house?" He asked with a smirk, peoples houses said alot about them, but it was also strange to see some people the polar opposites of what house they were chosen into.

Cyndi nodded as Michael said that he had finished school not long ago. She suspected as much considering that he looked slightly older than the guys she went to school with.

"Yea...I'm going into my 7th year though so I'm almost done" Cyndi said happily. "And I'm a Gryffindor." Cyndi said proudly, "What house were you in?" She wondered what his answer would be because some people placed a lot on the house they had been in. For Cyndi, being a Gryffindor meant a lot to her, especially since all of her family members usually ended up there.

Michael nodded with a grin. What was with him and 7th year girls. Now this time it was a Gryffindor though, so opposite of Sophia. "I was a Slytherin." He said gently, didnt want her to think he was evil or anything. "But I dont bite, so nothing to fear." He said jokingly, throwing a smile into the mix to emphasize his point.

When Cyndi heard that Michael had been a Slytherin, her smile faltered for a second, but she quickly regained her composure. Although she certainly get along with every Slytherin in the school, she did have one or two who she considered pretty good friends.

She giggled nervously as he joked that he didn't bite. "Well, that's good. So I guess I have nothing to be afraid of... " Cyndi said with a small smirk.

Michael grinned at her nervous laughter, but he tonned it down to just a casual conversational smile. "So Cyndi, what classes are you taking?" He asked with a tilt of his head, sometimes Michael wished he could go back to school, but only because Healer school was extremely boring at the best of times.

"Potions, Runes, Arithmancy, Charms, Transfiguration, and...Defense" Cyndi answered as she counted them off on her fingers, "Wow...I never realized how many classes I took." She used to take even more than that, but had been smart enough to drop some of them after her OWL grades had come in. "What did you decide to do after you left school?" Cyndi asked. She always liked to hear about people's jobs, probably because she was so close to entering the workforce herself.

Michael nodded as Cyndi listed her subjects. "Sweet." He said with a grin. "Im currently training to be a healer." He shrugged, he knew he had the brains for it, but motivation was another thing, it took quite a lot out of him, but it was something that Michael had always wanted to do. Even though he didnt think the job was cut out for him at all. "Do you have any ideas about what career path you want to take after you leave school?" He questioned in return.

"A healer? Cool... You must be really smart then." Cyndi said with a small smile. Michael said it quite nonchalantly, but she figured he was simply trying to downplay his career choice. When he asked about her career choice, it was Cyndi's turn to shrug her shoulders. "I'm thinking that I might want to be an Obliviator but I suppose it will all depend on my NEWT grades" she answered.

"I guess so." He said in a tone that was only playful smugness. "I had an extra push from my parents in school." He rolled his eyes, knowing that his statement was pretty self explanatory, there were alot of parents that pushed their children to do their very best. "Obliviator? Wow. That sounds much more exciting than a healer." He said truthfully, he practically knew from day one he wanted to be a healer, nothing else had really come to mind. "Im sure you'll do great." He said with a grin.

Cyndi nodded when she heard him speak about his parents pushing him. Thankfully, her parents weren't like that or she likely would be pursuing a career in dragon herding. Instead, her parents were pretty laidback about school though they did expect her to earn decent grades. "Aww thanks" Cyndi said shyly as Michael said she would make a great obliviator. "I sure hope so because I don't have a back-up plan" Cyndi said with a small laugh.
