Old School Week Stress of a Final Year

The pressures of being in his NEWT year hadn't hit until Flavio returned to school, and in the short time he had been back in the castle he was already feeling overwhelmed. Usually so early in the semester Flavio might have read a novel to get his mind off the feeling, possibly even see if he could feed the ducks at the lake, but the knowledge his classes would be over before he knew it meant he wanted to study early. This led him to the student lounge, where he was going through a few of his school notes from the last six years. Revising what he already knew might have seemed silly, but in the moment it was reassuring him everything would be alright if he worked hard, which was all he really needed.​

If Geo could have three guesses as to where she could find her best friend, she was sure she would only have to use two of them at maximum. Flavio was known to everyone as the hardest worker in the school, and it wasn't difficult to know he'd often be found studying in one of his favourite places. After spending the summer relaxing, Geo was keen to meet up with those she'd not yet had a chance to talk to, and bounded across the room as she caught sight of his pristine brown hair. "Hey you!" Throwing her arms round his shoulders with minimal regard for his notes in front of him.

The feeling of someone's arms around his shoulders would have startled Flavio if it weren't for the familiar voice that told him exactly who they belonged to. Geo had always been the kind of friend to show affection openly and he was glad this still had not changed. Smiling, he moved a hand to Geo's arm to return the affection. "Hey, how are you?" He asked, soon returning his hand to the notes on the table in front of him as he attempted to turn around and look at his friend. They hadn't spoken much, if at all over the holidays and he was curious to how her life was going.​

Geo had missed Flavio and gave him the tightest squeeze before finally pulling away to answer his question. "I'm great actually!" She replied with the largest smile on her face. For the first time in a while she thought as though she had a handle on things, and the Hufflepuff was looking forward to the year ahead. "I spent most of the holidays with Austin. You know he's the new Hufflepuff Captain?" she asked, although realising pretty quickly that of course he knew that already. "What about you? Did you see November much?" She hadn't spoken to Flavio for the entire holidays and it was most definitely far too long to go with speaking to him.

Flavio smiled wider as Geo mentioned she was great, before nodding as she mentioned Austin being the new hufflepuff captain. The current captain line up would mean interesting games that year, Flavio couldn't wait for quidditch to begin so everyone could play their best at opposing sides. At the change of subject in Geo asking how his holidays had been, Flavio looked momentarily down to the desk in front of him and then back to his friend. His holidays had been amazing and it was difficult for him to avoid blushing as he answered questions about it. "My holidays were amazing, November and I went on a camping trip for our birthdays. It was nice to relax and not worry about school." Now that he was back at hogwarts he was worrying more than ever, hence why he was going over his notes that day, but the temporary getaway that was the holidays was worth it for him.​
