Appearance: Tall, 6'1"; short brown hair, hazel eyes; sallow skin; scar on back of left hand from quidditch incident in 3rd year.
Personality: penchant for moodiness and brooding, tends to begrudge his brother though he loves him dearly. Everything seems so easy for Maximus while Alexius must work so much harder to achieve the same result. This causes a lot of resentment on his part, more so when everyone also seems to like Max instantly while friendships also are hard for him to make.
Constance has always put this down to the fact that he was never chosen for adoption over his brother and if his brother had not refused the families who had wanted to adopt him, then they would indeed have been separated.

History:
When their parents died in 2009 in a freak storm, the twins were sent to their grandmother who reared them until she too passed away in 2011 due to old age. They were sent to an orphanage where they were nearly separated from one another countless times as families were willing to adopt Maximus but not Alexius as well. Eventually the matron showed up with her sister who had been the nurse at the hospital in Beauxbatons academy but was now retired. She had never married but had always wanted children. As the matron herself was due to retire in another few years and it broke her heart to see the boys being left behind, she arranged for herself and her sister to become their guardians. No longer wards of state, the boys were finally able to enjoy the idea of having a future and being part of a family again.
When the boys were ready to begin their schooling, they were sent to Beauxbatons due to Constance's connections. Though both boys were originally born in Germany and had letters from Durmstrang arrive for them, the women were fervently against sending them there, feeling they had enough upset in their young lives and what they needed now was security, love, a good and rich environment in which to grow and nurture.
