Emily didn't really enjoy being here. She knew her sister was mad at her. Or mad at their father, but Emily didn't really care to see the difference. She felt like she had better things to do than be here learning some paltry tricks. She sighed. Finding the student lounge had been a relief. The possibility of running into her sister here was much smaller than it had been sitting in the Ravenclaw common room. She took a seat near the fire and opened her journal. It was probably about time she made a profile for what she knew of her sister. Avoiding her would be difficult, and more work than Emily was willing to put into it. She started writing down things she'd observed in her encounters with Avaria. She was bubbly, overly energetic, and a bit of a ditz. She was also furious with their father. Aside from that, Emily didn't really know much about her. She sighed, tapping her pen against the page as she stared into the flames of the fire. This entire thing was ridiculous. She was so lost in thought, she didn't hear anyone enter the room. To be fair, though, she probably wouldn't have cared even if she did.

Daintree had found he needed to do just a little more reading on the quidditch thing, or just read the same things over again. The boy knew that sports were vitally important and the fact he had never ridden a broom before should not stop him from being able to try-out or become a part of it. The slytherin was keen to get himself involved and he’d figured out who the captain was, so he just had to know enough that if pushed he could at least present everything in theory to them. It just meant that Dain was reading way more for a sport than ever before but of course he didn’t have the internet and he was near certain that quidditch had never been caught on film to the point where someone could learn from it. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, sure, he was growing accustomed to not having the internet and everything else, but it didn’t mean that he didn’t miss it. He walked into the student lounge, opting to stay near the library where he could give the book back after he was done with it. The slytherin sat on a sofa and noticed a girl about his age sitting near to the fire with something in front of her. She was staring into the fire with a focus he didn’t think he’d see much of at this place. ”If you stare any more at it, it’ll stare back at you,” the boy said to her with a matter of fact tone.

Emily was drawn out of her reverie by someone speaking. She looked up to see a boy sitting nearby. He had an intelligent glint in his eye that she hadn't noticed in many people here. Maybe he wasn't completely useless. She gave him a thin smile. "Perhaps. This is a magical school. I've read a little bit," She turned to glance at the fire again, "And I believe that there are some ways you can communicate through fire," She tapped her pen against her notebook as she thought about. She turned to look at the boy again, noticing the book in his hands. "Looking to learn something useful?" She inquired, nodding to his book. Her mother had warned her that she wouldn't make many friends if she didn't watch how she talked, but it hardly bothered Emily. If her friends couldn't accept her for who she was, then why would she want to be friends with them?
